Ertunc MEGA MD, PhD
Ertunc Mega was born in 1969 in Uskudar District, Istanbul, Turkey. He has graduated from Uskudar Baglarbasi Primary School and completed his middle and high school education at Kadikoy Maarif College. He is a specialist in obstetrics & gynecology, private law, healthcare law, and healthcare management. Correctional medicine physician, obstetrician-gynecologist, occupational medicine physician, physician-in-chief at a private hospital, founder & managing director of a healthcare business,and founder & managing director of a non-healthcare business are among the Professional titles he has held over the course of his career. Currently, he is the Vice Director of the University of Health Sciences Fatih Sultan MehmetTraining and Research Hospital. He also serves as a multi-field expert for Istanbul Regional Courts of Justice, the English language editor of the Bosphorus Medical Journal, and a writer for an online newspaper concerning healthcare. His certifications of competency for internal quality auditing, quality management systems, compensation/actuary concerning death/bodily harm, videolaparoscopic surgery, and safe motorcycle riding are approved by accredited domestic institutions and organizations. His certifications of competency in colposcopy, gynecologic reconstructive surgery, and urogynecological surgery are approved by accredited foreign organizations."The Crime of Involuntary Manslaughter Resulting From Gynecological Surgical Operations," which also is the title of his master’s thesis, is his only published book to date.
World Health Organization Guidelines for Inherited Blood Diseases Hemoglobin Disorders Control Program is the only book to date with his translated content contributions.The book chapters he has penned are; "The Lawfulness of Fetal Reduction in Multifetal Pregnancies Resulting From Assisted Reproductive Technology Procedures," and "Problems Regarding Regulations on Medical Certificates in Turkey and Their Proposed Solutions: Initial Findings Concerning the Right to Education” and “The Philosophical Foundations of Patients’ Rights."
He has successfully performed the advisor role for the writing of one thesis for specialization in medicine. For three semesters, he has carried out undergraduate and postgraduate courses in two separate universities. He has made statements and speeches in monodisciplinary and transdisciplinary national and international congresses. He has numerous articles published on national periodicals; however, he is yet to pen an article to be published internationally.
"Comparing the Growth and Development of Students From Two Separate Primary Schools, One of Which Is Public and the Other Private," "The Importance of Second-Trimester Placental Volume Measurement by Ultrasonography on the Identification of Intrauterine Growth Restriction," "The Crime of Involuntary Manslaughter Resulting From Gynecological Surgical Operations," and "Practices Concerning Health Workers’ Rights Following the Healthcare Reform in Turkey" are the theses he has completed over the course of his postgraduate education. He received the title of Doctor of Health Law from Istanbul Medipol University with his thesis entitled “The Legal Characteristics of Contracts for Ecto-Uterine Embryo Keeping”.
