The Journal of Area Studies (AJAS) is an international, open-access and peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Institute for Area Studies, Social Sciences University of Ankara (SSUA). AJAS is published twice a year in June and December since 2022.
The aim of the AJAS is to make a significant contribution to the literature by publishing original studies of area experts. While we accept manuscripts using the comparative method and case study, mixed method studies with primary data collection and policy recommendations are particularly welcome.
The publication languages of the journal are Turkish, English and French.
AJAS adopts the Budapest Open Access Initiative principles, and it provides immediate open access to its content with no fees required at any stage of the process.
