TURQUALITY-SUPPORTED COMPANIES IN THE PLASTICS-RELATED SECTOR: A CONTENT ANALYSIS OF SUSTAINABILITY AND DIGITALIZATION VISIBILITY IN CORPORATE REPORTS

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to examine the transformation awareness and sustainability visibility of Turquality-supported plastics companies in Türkiye. In the study, the most up-to-date sustainability reports of six Turquality-supported plastics companies were evaluated with content analysis using qualitative research methods. In the analysis, the prominent words in the report were determined by word frequency and word cloud analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that environmental sustainability received the highest emphasis among the reports, followed by social and economic dimensions. Furthermore, digitalization-themed words have also been found to have relatively limited visibility. Looking at the company-level results, it can be said that Brisa and Teklas are the companies with the highest corporate visibility, standing out in the overall sustainability outlook and digital transformation indicators, respectively. The findings provide strategic insights for policymakers and firms, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening digital transformation capacity alongside environmental initiatives to fully realize Turquality’s strategic objectives. This study is one of the first to analyze the intersection of Turquality support and twin transformation in the plastics industry, and is thought to provide empirical insights into how national brand programs promote sustainability-oriented digital competitiveness.
