orn in 1978 in Tosya, Şahin completed his undergraduate education in 2002 at Balıkesir University, School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Department of Travel Management.

After working in various tourism enterprises within the sector, he pursued an academic career. At the Institute of Social Sciences of Balıkesir University, Department of Tourism Management and Hotel Management, he received his Master of Science degree in 2004 with his thesis titled “Outsourcing in Enterprises and an Application on Accommodation Businesses.” In 2011, he earned his Ph.D. with his dissertation titled “The Ethical Decision-Making Process in the Marketing Activities of Travel Agencies: The Case of Istanbul.”

Throughout his academic career, he has held administrative positions in various faculties at Balıkesir University, served as a member of faculty and executive boards, and taken part in different university committees and commissions. In addition, he has acted as a coordinator and principal investigator in several European Union-funded projects supported by various institutions. He has also served in roles such as Chair of the Ethics Committee and Coordinator of Publications and Journals.

Şahin currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Tourism Management at the Balıkesir University Faculty of Tourism.

He is married and has two children.
