Journal of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Theology (DEÜİFD); It is a national academic journal published twice a year by Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Theology, on June 15 and December 15. The journal is open to accepting articles throughout the year. DEUIFD; It aims to publish and share with the public studies such as articles, book reviews, and symposium evaluations produced in the field of religious sciences. The Journal Editorial Board carries out the acceptance procedure based on the scientific value of the study, regardless of the title of the researcher. Articles submitted for publication are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two referees. In addition, through a special program used to detect plagiarism, it is confirmed that the articles have not been published before and do not contain plagiarism.
Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Theology Journal publishes studies such as articles, book reviews, and symposium evaluations produced in the field of religious sciences.

Rules to be Followed in the Articles to be Submitted to the DEU Faculty of Theology Journal
(1) The articles submitted to the journal will be examined formally by the Editorial Board first and if it is deemed appropriate to be published in the journal, they will be sent to a field expert peer for content review.
(2) Articles should not have been previously published in another publication.
(3) If the sent letter is a paper and has not been published in the booklet, the place, and date of submission will be evaluated.
(4) The length of the articles sent to the journal should not exceed 35 pages in our journal format with the bibliography. The articles should be as follows:

(5) Manuscripts should be written with Microsoft Word editor in order to facilitate complete and flawless typesetting, editing and similar works.
(6) Abstracts should be added to the beginning of the articles in Turkish and foreign languages, provided that they do not exceed 150 (one hundred and fifty) words.
(7) The keywords that indicate the main theme of the articles and to be scanned on the internet should be placed under the abstract.
(8) Footnotes should be given in the format below:

The publication process at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal is the basis of the improvement and dissemination of information objectively and respectfully. Therefore, the procedures in this process improve the quality of the studies. Peer-reviewed studies are the ones that support and materialize the scientific method. At this point, it is of utmost importance that all parties included in the publication process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, reviewers and editors) comply with the standards of ethical considerations. cumhuriyet theology journal expects all parties to hold the following ethical responsibilities.
The following ethical duties and responsibilities are written in the light of the guide and policies made by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, and the publisher.

Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article;
Editors should have no conflict of interest with respect to articles they reject/accept;
Only accept a paper when reasonably certain;
When errors are found, promote publication of correction or retraction;
Preserve anonymity of reviewers.

Duties of the Publisher
Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal is committed to ensuring that commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful to editors. Finally, we are working closely with other publishers and industry associations to set standards for best practices on ethical matters, errors and retractions–and are prepared to provide specialized legal review and counsel if necessary.

1963, he was born in the Refahiye district of Erzincan province, Türkiye.
In 1973, he graduated from Aydıncık Village Primary School; in 1977 from Erzincan Imam Hatip Secondary School; and in 1981 from Erzurum Imam Hatip High School.
In 1987, he graduated from Erciyes University, Faculty of Theology.
In 1988, he was appointed as a Research Assistant to Ankara University Faculty of Theology, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, Division of History of Islamic Sects.
In 1990, he completed his Master’s degree with a thesis entitled “The Emergence of Murjiʾa and Its Doctrinal Views.”
In 1992, he stayed in the United Kingdom for six months for research in his field. In 1993, he spent one year in Egypt for further academic research.
In 1994, he received his PhD with a dissertation entitled “Murjiʾa and Its Spread in Khurasan and Transoxiana.”
In 1997, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor.
Between 1997 and 1999, he served as Acting Vice Dean at Osh State University Faculty of Theology in Kyrgyzstan and taught courses in his field.
In 2003, he was promoted to the rank of Professor.
Between 2003 and 2009, he served as Education Coordinator at Ankara University Faculty of Theology.
Between 2008 and 2012, he served as Vice Chair of the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences.
In 2012, due to a project entitled “The Perception of Alevism in English-Language Research,” he worked for three and a half months as a Visiting Scholar at Princeton University (USA).
He has published more than 10 books and over 50 articles on Islamic sects and contemporary Islamic movements.
He has translations from English and Arabic.
He serves as a referee and a member of editorial boards for various academic journals.
Between 2003 and 2014, he was a member of the Curriculum Development Commission of the General Directorate of Religious Education.
He is currently a faculty member at Ankara University Faculty of Theology, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, Division of History of Islamic Sects.

He was born in 1971 in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, in the family of Dedehan Hasan, the nightingale of the Turkic world, a famous singer, poet and politician. In 1994, he graduated from the Faculty of Uzbek Philology of Taşkent Devlet University (today Mirza Uluğbey Uzbekistan Milli Üniversitesi). In 1995, he started working at the Ali Shir Nevai Uzbek Language, Literature and Folklore Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 1999, Prof. Dr. Under the supervision of İbrahim Hakkul, he gave his doctorate (PhD) thesis on "Sultan Ahmed Hazini's work "Cevahir ul-ebrar min emwac il-bihar" and its scientific-historical value in Yesevit studies." In 2001-2004, he received post-doctoral training at the same institution, and in 2004, he was awarded the Young Academician of the Year award by the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan for his scientific work. In 2011, he was awarded the title of Docent by the Uzbekistan Cumhuriyeti Yüksek Atestasyon Commission. In 2017, the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature and Folklore was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Sciences for the essay on "Resources related to Yesevism and the review of "Divan-ı Hikmet".
While working as a lecturer at Karabük University in 2015-2020, he attended courses such as Research Techniques, Turkish Mythology, Poetry Analysis, Folk Literature, Text Commentary, Turkish Sufism Literature, Introduction to Old Turkish Literature, Sufism Literature, Çağatay Literature, Uzbek Literature, Uzbek Turkish Texts, Çağatayca, Yesevi Hikmet School, Turkish National Awakening Literature. In 2018, he was appointed as a Professor at Karabük University and served as the Assistant Director of the Cengiz Aytmatov Türk Dünyası Application and Research Center under the Rectorship of Karabük University (2018-2020). He entered the "Turkish literature" courses at the Turkology Faculty of Tashkent Devlet Doğu Bilimleri Üniversitesi (2021-2022). As of 2023, Mirza Uluğbey is enrolled in the Faculty of Uzbek Philology of the National University of Uzbekistan, taking courses such as "Mythology and Literature", "Turkish Literature", "History of Çağatay Edebiyatı Tarihi". He advised doctoral theses (5 units) and master's degree (25 units) in universities. He worked on scientific projects in Europe (Sephis), Turkey (supported by higher education institutions) and Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, Uzbekistan International Islamic Academy, Uzbekistan Islamic Civilization Center). He participated in many international and national summits, symposiums, congresses and workshops organized in Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, gave speeches, gave conferences and seminars. He contributed to the development of relations between Turkey-Uzbekistan in the fields of science, education and culture, the promotion of Turkey in Uzbekistan, the publication of many Turkish books, works and films translated into Uzbek Turkish. In Istanbul, he founded the Association for the Development of Friendship with Uzbekistan, he tried to become a cultural bridge between the two countries, to invite writers, thinkers and academics from Uzbekistan to come to Turkey and give seminars, to transfer the developments in Turkey to Uzbekistan, to promote Turkey. He is currently working at the National University of Uzbekistan. He is married and has three children. In addition to his mother tongue, he knows Turkish and Russian.
He completed his bachelor's degree at Uludağ University Faculty of Theology in 1992. He received his master's degree in 1995 and his doctorate in 2001 from the same university's Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Sufism. After teaching for four years at schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, he joined the Faculty of Theology at Karadeniz Technical University as a Research Assistant in 1996. He became an Associate Professor in 2008 and a Professor in 2014. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Gümüşhane University from 2015 to 2018. In 2019, he moved to the Faculty of Theology at Hitit University. He currently holds the same position and conducts his work in Arabic and English.

1969’da İzmir’de doğan Fatih Toktaş, 1991’de Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesini bitirdi. 1996’da Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dağ danışmanlığında “Farabi’nin Eylemsel Felsefesinde Ahlak ve Siyaset İlişkisi” başlıklı teziyle yüksek lisansını tamamladı. 2001’de Prof. Dr. Mahmut Kaya danışmanlığında “Meşşâî Felsefeye Yöneltilen Eleştiriler” adlı teziyle de doktorasını yaptı. 1993-1994 akademik yılında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı bursuyla Mısır’da yedi ay İslam Felsefesi ile ilgili çalışmalar yaptı. 18.06.1992 tarihinde Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesinde İslam Felsefesi Tarihi Anabilim dalında başladığı araştırma görevliliğini, 18.07.2005 tarihine kadar sürdürdü. Bu süreçte, Felsefe ve Din Bilimleri Bölüm dersleri arasında yer alan mantık, İslam Ahlak Tarihi gibi bazı dersler verdi. 2005-2006 öğretim yılının birinci döneminde Kırgızistan Osh İlahiyat Fakültesinde misafir öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapan Toktaş, 2006-2009 tarihleri arasında İzmir’de Din Kültürü ve Ahlak Bilgisi öğretmeni olarak çalıştı. 16.09.2009 tarihinde Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesinde Felsefe Tarihi Anabilim dalında yardımcı doçent olarak göreve başladı, 18.06.2012 tarihinde Felsefe doçenti ve 03.01.20018 tarihinde Felsefe profesörü unvanlarını aldı. İngilizce ve Arapça bilen Toktaş, Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesinde öğretim üyeliğini sürdürmektedir.
