Registration of geographical indications (GI), known as one of the industrial property
rights, has become a subject that has been increasingly understood and emphasized in
recent years. Geographical indication practices are registration or marking that indicates
the origin / origin of a locally named product but confirms that it is distinguished from
its similar characteristics with its characteristics and protects the product, the producer
and the consumer. The study was carried out in the context of qualitative research with
analyzes based on literature and document analysis in order to evaluate the GI potential
of Erzurum province in terms of gastronomy tourism. The province of Erzurum has 13
products with GI registration that can be considered as an element of attraction within
the scope of gastronomy tourism and 12 different products that have been applied for
and are still in process. Interestingly, in the study, it was determined that there were
applications from two different institutions for a product (İspir Kurun Cheese) and that
the application information for a product was not found in the application document.
However, Turkey, as of March 2021 has been introduced with the current state of
proprietary products available tables and graphs GI for Erzurum Turkey and for the
number of proprietary products are still considered as not having the desired level. From
this point of view, ten different flavors produced and consumed by lovingly owned by
the region have been suggested for GI registration, and various suggestions have been
made to the relevant stakeholders in order to evaluate the food products that have
received GI within the scope of gastronomy tourism.
Sınai mülkiyet haklarından birisi olarak bilinen Coğrafi İşaret (Cİ) tescili son yıllarda önemi giderek anlaşılan ve üzerinde durulan bir konu olmaya başlamıştır. Coğrafi işaret uygulamaları, yöresel olarak da isimlendirilen bir ürünün orijinini/menşeini belirtmekle birlikte sahip olduğu karakteristik özellikleri ile benzerlerinden ayrıldığını onaylayan tescilleme veya işaretlemedir. Çalışma Erzurum ilinin Cİ potansiyelini gastronomi turizmi açısından değerlendirebilmek için nitel araştırma kapsamında literatür ve doküman incelemesine dayalı analizlerle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Erzurum ilinin gastronomi turizmi kapsamında çekicilik unsuru olarak değerlendirilebilecek coğrafi işaret tescili alan ve alabilecek ürünleri tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca Türkiye’nin güncel coğrafi işaretli ürün durumu tablo ve grafiklerle yorumlanmıştır. Buradan hareketle Cİ tescili almış gıda ürünlerinin gastronomi turizmi kapsamında değerlendirilmesi için ilgili paydaşlara çeşitli öneriler getirilmiştir.
