Abstract

Hastalıkların temel nedenlerinden biri olan bakteri ve virüsler tarih boyunca insan sağlığı için tehdit olma özelliklerini korumuştur. Bu mikroorganizmalar doğanın aktif birer parçası olarak süregelmiştir. Özellikle 21. Yüzyılda korona virüsler bilim ve teknolojik ilerlemelerin ön plana çıktığı küreselleşmeye rağmen bir salgın hastalık şeklini almıştır. Virüs kaynaklı hastalıkların bu denli tehlikeli boyutlara ulaşması doğal dengeyi gözetmeyen salt kâr hedefli anlayışının doğurduğu negatif dışsallıklardan kaynaklanmaktadır. İnsanların maksimim kâr peşinden koşarken doğaya bu denli zarar vermeleri sonucunda ortaya çıkan olumsuz gelişmelerin üstesinden gelebilmesi için sosyoekonomik ve düşünce bazında yeni bir anlayış geliştirmesi gerekmektedir. Aksi taktirde salt kâr amaçlı girişimlerin meydana getirdiği negatif dışsallıklar ayrım yapmaksızın tüm insanlar için Covid 19 salgınından görüldüğü gibi ölümcül sonuçlar doğuracaktır. Bu çalışmada korona virüs salgınının başta sosyoekonomik yaşam olmak üzere eğitim, sağlık ve sosyokültürel alanların değişim ve dönüşümlere nasıl yol açacağı değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada bu değişim ve dönüşüm sürecinin dijitalleşme ve online işlemler yönünde ağırlık kazanacağı savunulmuştur.

Socio-Economic Consequences of Coronavirus

Abstract

Bacteria and viruses, one of the main causes of diseases, have been threats to human health throughout history. These microorganisms have continued as an active part of nature. Especially in the 21st century, coronaviruses took the form of an epidemic disease despite the globalization where science and technological advances came to the forefront. The fact that virus-borne diseases reach such dangerous dimensions is due to negative externality caused by a purely profit-oriented understanding that does not respect natural balance. In order to overcome the negative developments that arise as a result of people doing such damage to nature while pursuing a maximum profit, they need to develop a new understanding based on socioeconomics and nature-friendly thought. Otherwise, negative externalities caused by purely profit-making initiatives will have fatal consequences for all people, as seen from the COVID-19 outbreak, without discrimination. In this study, it has been evaluated how this coronavirus epidemic will lead to changes and transformations in education, health and sociocultural fields, especially socioeconomic life. In the study, it is argued that this change and transformation process will gain weight in the direction of digitalization and online transactions.
