Advancing Bacteriophage Research, Enzyme Technology, and Industrial Biotechnology. As a Professor of Microbiology, my research spans the use of bacteriophages and their lytic proteins as innovative therapeutic alternatives to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections.

Alongside this, I specialize in microbial enzyme technology, focusing on the discovery, engineering, and industrial application of robust enzymes from extremophiles for sustainable biotechnological processes. Bridging phage therapy with industrial biotechnology, my work aims to deliver impactful solutions across healthcare, food, and environmental sectors through cutting-edge science and translational research.

Dr. Hüseyin Şahin is a professor at Giresun University, Türkiye. His main research interests include the bioactivity of natural products—particularly bee products and edible or non-edible plants—medicinal chemistry, enzyme inhibition, and chromatographic techniques.

In recent years, his research has focused on:

1. Determining the bioactive properties of functional foods, particularly their antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.
2. Chromatographic analysis of food components, including phenolic compounds, sugars, and physicochemical parameters using techniques such as HPLC, GC, and LC–MS.
3. The identification and development of direct analytical methods for the quantification of bioactive compounds in foods using chromatographic techniques.
4. Evaluation of enzyme inhibitory activities of natural compounds.

Dr. Şahin has published numerous original research articles and conference papers in these fields. His academic output includes 50 papers in international journals indexed in Web of Science or Scopus, three invited book chapters in international books, and approximately 50 proceedings presented at national and international congresses.

• He was born on December 29, 1974 in Bichanak village of Shahbuz region of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. • In 1981-1991 he studied at the Bichanak village secondary school. • In 1993-1997 he studied at "Biology" (bachelor)specialty of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Nakhchivan State University. • In 1997-1999 he studied at the specialty of “Genetics and Breeding”(master) at Nakhchivan State University • Starting his career in 1997, he worked as a junior researcher at the Nakhchivan Scientific- Research Base of the Institute of Genetics and Selection of ANAS and as a teacher at Bichanak village secondary school. • He Served in the military in 01.06.1999-23.07.2000. Since 01.10.2000, he worked as a laboratory manager, teacher, head teacher, associate professor of the "Basic Medical Sciences" department of Nakhchivan State University. In 2013-2016, he worked as the head of the "Basic Medical Sciences" department. June 2016 - June 2023, he has been the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Since June 2023 he is Vice-rector for Science and innovation issues• In 2007, E.Asadov defended his dissertation on the topic of "The main external features of bees and the collection, biochemical properties of bee tuberculosis in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” and received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Biology. • • Since 2010 he has been working on his doctoral dissertation on the topic of "Biochemical and bioecological features, quality indicators of plant bee products produced by bee families in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”. • He is the author of more than 120 scientific works (including 20 books: textbooks, manuals, monographs, recommendations, etc.). Lisans eğitimini Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Biyoloji Bölümünde 2007 yılında tamamladıktan sonra lisansüstü eğitimini Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Biyoloji/Mikrobiyoloji alanında tamamlamıştır. Doktora eğitimini 2017 yılında tamamladıktan sonra 2018-2020 yillari arasında Artvin Çoruh Üniversitesi 'nde Dr.Öğr.üyesi olarak görev yapmıştır. 2020 yılından itibaren Trabzon Üniversitesi 'nde Dr.Öğr.üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Doktora sonrası çalışmalarında ari sağlığı ve hastalıkları ile mücadele etmek için bakteri ve ürünlerinin kullanımı ile ilgili çalışmalar sürdürmektedir. Özellikle arilardan elde edilen probiyotik bakterilerin izolasyonu, tanımlanması ve kullanımı ile ilgili çalışmalar sürdürmektedir. 

Dr. Muhammad Zafar did Ph.D. in Plant Sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University 
Islamabad-Pakistan in 2011. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor 
(Tenured), and Incharge Herbarium (ISL) in the Department of Plant Sciences, 
Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad Pakistan. He is a renowned scientist in the 
field of medicinal plants, plant biodiversity, and Plant Systematics and 
Biodiversity. He is the founder of the first Melissopalynology and traditional 
medicinal plants Labs, Biofuel Lab and Digital Herbarium at Quaid-i-Azam 
University Islamabad Pakistan. Dr. Zafar has over 360 impact factor 
publications and ISI Web Sciences (citations ±7750, H-index 49), Google 
Scholar Citation (citations ±14500, H-index 60, i10-index 294) and in diverse 
fields of Plant Sciences. In addition to this he is the author of 14 international 
books and 25 book chapters published largely by Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & 
Francis, Wiley, etc. across the world. He is the Editorial board member of various 
journals of repute. He has successfully supervised/produced 18 Ph.D. and 72
M.Phil. research scholars in advanced areas of Plant Systematics & Biodiversity. 
Productive scientist awards by PCST (2009 to 2017); TTS Awards of Performance 
based Increment (2016 to 2020); Best research paper award by HEC (2011); Gold 
Medal (Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari Award) from Pakistan Academy of 
Sciences (PAS) in the field of Biotechnology in 2021 and Gold Medal award by 
Pakistan Academy of Sciences (2011) in field Botany. His creative work in the 
University includes the establishment of a digital herbarium, botanical garden
renovation and nutraceutical laboratory for research in the University and linkage 
with industries for rural and academic development.

She is an Assistant Professor at the Food Processing Department, Food Technology Program of Maçka Vocational School, Karadeniz Technical University. She completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Food Engineering at Ege University, and received her PhD in Chemistry/Biochemistry from the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at Karadeniz Technical University. Her research interests include biochemistry, food engineering, food science, and food chemistry, with a particular focus on bioactive compounds and their bioaccessibility. 

Mehtap Er Kemal completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in Food Engineering, thus gaining academic expertise in this field. Her research focuses on dairy technology, food chemistry, bioactive components, food microbiology, and medicinal and aromatic plants; she specializes particularly in the optimization of hybrid food formulations and the design of functional snacks.

After completing his undergraduate education in the Department of Chemistry at Anadolu University, he completed a minor in Pharmacy. He completed his master’s and doctoral studies at Karadeniz Technical University and Eskişehir Osmangazi University. His research focuses on the intersection of natural products chemistry and biochemistry, particularly on bee products, phenolic compounds, and biological activity analyses. He has conducted studies using chromatographic and advanced analytical techniques.

Esma Şenel is a lecturer at İzmir Democracy University, School of Foreign Languages, and a PhD candidate in English Language Teaching at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. Her research focuses on academic writing, peer-review training, educational technologies, creativity in language teaching, language/test anxiety, burnout, and intercultural competence. She has published in international journals, presented at conferences, and serves as a reviewer for several journals, including Language Teaching Research. She has also been a trainer in the “English for Media Literacy Across Türkiye (EMLAT)” and ‘’Artificial Intelligence Across Türkiye (AIAT)” programs supported by the U.S. Embassy. She is a member of professional associations such as EASE, ACSE, IATEFL, TESOL, and EALTA.
