Advancing Bacteriophage Research, Enzyme Technology, and Industrial Biotechnology. As a Professor of Microbiology, my research spans the use of bacteriophages and their lytic proteins as innovative therapeutic alternatives to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections.

Alongside this, I specialize in microbial enzyme technology, focusing on the discovery, engineering, and industrial application of robust enzymes from extremophiles for sustainable biotechnological processes. Bridging phage therapy with industrial biotechnology, my work aims to deliver impactful solutions across healthcare, food, and environmental sectors through cutting-edge science and translational research.

Dr. Hüseyin Şahin, Türkiye’de Giresun Üniversitesi’nde profesördür. Başlıca araştırma alanları doğal ürünlerin biyoaktivitesi (özellikle arı ürünleri ile yenilebilir ve yenilemeyen bitkiler), tıbbi kimya, enzim inhibisyonu ve kromatografik tekniklerdir.

Son yıllardaki başlıca araştırma konuları şunlardır:

1. Fonksiyonel gıdaların biyoaktivite özelliklerinin, özellikle antioksidan ve antimikrobiyal etkilerinin belirlenmesi.
2. Gıdaların kromatografik analizi: fenolik bileşikler, şeker içerikleri ve fizikokimyasal parametrelerin HPLC, GC ve LC–MS gibi tekniklerle analiz edilmesi.
3. Gıdalardaki biyoaktif bileşenlerin miktarlarının belirlenmesine yönelik kromatografik yöntemlerle doğrudan analitik yöntemlerin tanımlanması ve geliştirilmesi.
4. Doğal bileşiklerin bazı enzim inhibisyonlarının değerlendirilmesi.

Bu alanlarda çok sayıda özgün araştırma makalesi ve poster bildirisi yayımlamıştır. Yayınları arasında Web of Science veya Scopus’ta taranan uluslararası dergilerde 50 makale, uluslararası kitaplarda davetli olarak yazılmış 3 kitap bölümü ve ulusal ve uluslararası kongrelerde sunulmuş yaklaşık 50 bildiri bulunmaktadır.

• 29 Aralık 1974 tarihinde Nahçıvan Özerk Cumhuriyeti’nin Şahbuz rayonunun Biçenek köyünde doğmuştur.
• 1981–1991 yıllarında Biçenek köy ortaokulunda eğitim almıştır.
• 1993–1997 yıllarında Nahçıvan Devlet Üniversitesi Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi “Biyoloji” (lisans) bölümünde öğrenim görmüştür.
• 1997–1999 yıllarında Nahçıvan Devlet Üniversitesi’nde “Genetik ve Islah” (yüksek lisans) alanında eğitim almıştır.
• 1997 yılında çalışma hayatına başlayarak Azerbaycan Milli Bilimler Akademisi Genetik ve Seleksiyon Enstitüsü Nahçıvan Bilimsel Araştırma Üssü’nde genç araştırmacı olarak ve aynı zamanda Biçenek köy ortaokulunda öğretmen olarak çalışmıştır.
• 01.06.1999–23.07.2000 tarihleri arasında askerlik hizmetini yerine getirmiştir.
• 01.10.2000 tarihinden itibaren Nahçıvan Devlet Üniversitesi “Temel Tıp Bilimleri” bölümünde laboratuvar sorumlusu, öğretim görevlisi, baş öğretmen ve doçent olarak görev yapmıştır.
• 2013–2016 yıllarında “Temel Tıp Bilimleri” bölüm başkanı olarak çalışmıştır.
• Haziran 2016 – Haziran 2023 tarihleri arasında Tıp Fakültesi Dekanı olarak görev yapmıştır.
• Haziran 2023’ten itibaren Bilim ve inovasyon konularından sorumlu rektör yardımcısıdır.
• 2007 yılında “Nahçıvan Özerk Cumhuriyeti koşullarında arıların temel dış özellikleri ve arı ürünlerinin toplanması ile biyokimyasal özellikleri” konulu tezini savunarak Biyoloji alanında Doktora (PhD) derecesini almıştır.
• 2010 yılından itibaren “Nahçıvan Özerk Cumhuriyeti topraklarında arı aileleri tarafından üretilen bitkisel arı ürünlerinin biyokimyasal ve biyoekolojik özellikleri ile kalite göstergeleri” konulu doktora tezi üzerinde çalışmaktadır.
• 120’den fazla bilimsel eserin (20 kitap: ders kitapları, ders materyalleri, monografiler, öneriler vb. dahil) yazarıdır. Bazı bilimsel makaleleri yurt dışında yayımlanmıştır.

Lisans eğitimini Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Biyoloji Bölümünde 2007 yılında tamamladıktan sonra lisansüstü eğitimini Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Biyoloji/Mikrobiyoloji alanında tamamlamıştır. Doktora eğitimini 2017 yılında tamamladıktan sonra 2018-2020 yillari arasında Artvin Çoruh Üniversitesi 'nde Dr.Öğr.üyesi olarak görev yapmıştır. 2020 yılından itibaren Trabzon Üniversitesi 'nde Dr.Öğr.üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Doktora sonrası çalışmalarında ari sağlığı ve hastalıkları ile mücadele etmek için bakteri ve ürünlerinin kullanımı ile ilgili çalışmalar sürdürmektedir. Özellikle arilardan elde edilen probiyotik bakterilerin izolasyonu, tanımlanması ve kullanımı ile ilgili çalışmalar sürdürmektedir. 

Dr. Muhammad Zafar did Ph.D. in Plant Sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University 
Islamabad-Pakistan in 2011. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor 
(Tenured), and Incharge Herbarium (ISL) in the Department of Plant Sciences, 
Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad Pakistan. He is a renowned scientist in the 
field of medicinal plants, plant biodiversity, and Plant Systematics and 
Biodiversity. He is the founder of the first Melissopalynology and traditional 
medicinal plants Labs, Biofuel Lab and Digital Herbarium at Quaid-i-Azam 
University Islamabad Pakistan. Dr. Zafar has over 360 impact factor 
publications and ISI Web Sciences (citations ±7750, H-index 49), Google 
Scholar Citation (citations ±14500, H-index 60, i10-index 294) and in diverse 
fields of Plant Sciences. In addition to this he is the author of 14 international 
books and 25 book chapters published largely by Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & 
Francis, Wiley, etc. across the world. He is the Editorial board member of various 
journals of repute. He has successfully supervised/produced 18 Ph.D. and 72
M.Phil. research scholars in advanced areas of Plant Systematics & Biodiversity. 
Productive scientist awards by PCST (2009 to 2017); TTS Awards of Performance 
based Increment (2016 to 2020); Best research paper award by HEC (2011); Gold 
Medal (Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari Award) from Pakistan Academy of 
Sciences (PAS) in the field of Biotechnology in 2021 and Gold Medal award by 
Pakistan Academy of Sciences (2011) in field Botany. His creative work in the 
University includes the establishment of a digital herbarium, botanical garden
renovation and nutraceutical laboratory for research in the University and linkage 
with industries for rural and academic development.

Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Maçka Meslek Yüksekokulu Gıda İşleme Bölümü Gıda Teknolojisi Programı’nda Doktor Öğretim Üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Lisans ve yüksek lisans eğitimini Ege Üniversitesi Gıda Mühendisliği bölümünde tamamlamış, doktora eğitimini ise Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Kimya/Biyokimya alanında gerçekleştirmiştir. Araştırma alanları biyokimya, gıda mühendisliği, gıda bilimi ve gıda kimyası olup özellikle biyoaktif bileşenler ve bunların biyorişilebilirliği üzerine yoğunlaşmaktadır. 

Lisans ve lisansüstü eğitimlerini Gıda Mühendisliği ana bilim dalında tamamlayan Mehtap Er Kemal, akademik yetkinliğini bu alanda kazanmıştır. Çalışmalarını süt teknolojisi, gıda kimyası, biyoaktif bileşenler, gıda mikrobiyolojisi ve tıbbi aromatik bitkiler üzerinde yoğunlaştıran Er Kemal; özellikle hibrit gıda formülasyonlarının optimizasyonu ile fonksiyonel atıştırmalık tasarımı konularında uzmanlaşmıştır.

After completing his undergraduate education in the Department of Chemistry at Anadolu University, he completed a minor in Pharmacy. He completed his master’s and doctoral studies at Karadeniz Technical University and Eskişehir Osmangazi University. His research focuses on the intersection of natural products chemistry and biochemistry, particularly on bee products, phenolic compounds, and biological activity analyses. He has conducted studies using chromatographic and advanced analytical techniques.

Esma Şenel, İzmir Demokrasi Üniversitesi Yabancı Diller Yüksekokulu’nda öğretim görevlisi ve Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi İngiliz Dili Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı’nda doktora öğrencisidir. Araştırma alanları akademik yazma, hakemlik/akran değerlendirme eğitimi, eğitim teknolojileri, dil öğretiminde yaratıcılık, dil/sınav kaygısı, tükenmişlik ve kültürlerarası yeterliliktir. Uluslararası dergilerde yayınları ve konferans bildirileri bulunmaktadır; Language Teaching Research dâhil çeşitli dergilerde hakemlik yapmaktadır. ABD Büyükelçiliği destekli “English for Media Literacy Across Türkiye (EMLAT)” ve ‘’Artificial Intelligence Across Türkiye (AIAT)” programlarında eğitmenlik yapmıştır. EASE, ACSE,  IATEFL, TESOL, ve EALTA gibi mesleki derneklerin üyesidir.
