Archive Policy

The Journal of Soft Computing and Artificial Intelligence (JSCAI) maintains a transparent and author-friendly archiving policy, ensuring the widest possible dissemination and long-term preservation of published content. This policy is fully aligned with best practices recommended by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), COPE, and major indexing services.

1. Self-Archiving Rights
Authors are permitted to archive their work in the following ways, without any embargo period:

  • On personal websites
  • On institutional repositories (university or research center archives)
  • On public and/or commercial subject-based repositories

Both the submitted version (preprint) and the accepted peer-reviewed version (postprint) may be shared freely, provided that:

  • The published source is cited in accordance with standard citation practices.
  • A link is provided to the article’s DOI or the journal’s webpage.

2. Sharing and Distribution
Authors are allowed to:

  • Download the final published PDF from the journal’s website.
  • Share the article with colleagues, students, or on academic networking platforms.
  • Use the article in educational, research, or professional settings, provided full citation is given.

3. Journal and Platform Archiving
All articles published in JSCAI are archived in multiple secure locations to ensure permanent accessibility:

In the event that the journal ceases publication, all archived content will remain accessible via LOCKSS and other permanent repositories.

4. Licensing and Copyright

  • Open Access Model: Gold Open Access
  • Copyright Holder: The author(s) retain full copyright.
  • Open Access License: Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0)
  • Embargo Period: None — immediate open access upon publication.
  • Conditions: The journal must be cited according to standard citation guidelines, and a DOI link to the publisher’s version must be included.

5. Note

There is no embargo for any manuscript version—whether the first submitted draft or the accepted version after peer review. Authors may share these versions on any platform, provided that the manuscript stage (preprint, postprint, or published version) is clearly indicated.
