Cappadocia Journal of Education (KAPED) is a peer-reviewed, scientific journal that publishes theoretical and applied original research articles, reviews and compilations in the field of education. KAPED aims to make scientific contributions to the field of education by creating a ground where scientific developments in our country and in the world can be followed in line with its founding purposes.

Cappadocia Education Journal is a free journal that has the potential to find solutions to the development and problems of the education system, and where qualified scientific studies meet the readers. KAPED includes academic studies that offer practical and concrete solutions to problems at all levels of education, from pre-school to higher education, and contribute to the professional development of teachers, educators and academics.

Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Faculty of Education Journal is published twice a year, in June and December.
The publication languages ​​of the journal are Turkish, English and German.

Candidate articles must be between 3500-9000. Articles that are shorter or longer than the specified range will not be considered.
Candidate articles submitted to the journal must be original and not previously published elsewhere or the publication process is not in progress.
Candidate articles are first reviewed by the editors for compliance with the spelling rules, and then directed to at least two referees. While the articles that both referees report positively are ready for publication, if both referees report negative, the article is rejected. If one of the referees is positive and the other is negative, the article is sent to a third referee. According to the report from the third referee, it is decided whether the article will be published or not.
All candidate articles must have a Turkish and English title, a Turkish Abstract of 150-200 words, and an English ABSTRACT. A sufficient number of (at least 3 and at most 5) keywords describing the article should be specified under the abstract. If the article is written in another language, Turkish translations of the title and the abstract should be given. Abstracts in Turkish and English should cover the purpose, method and outcome of the study.
An Extended Summary must be included at the end of the candidate articles. There should be no subtitles in the Extended Summary section. The Extended Summary section should provide readers with information about the entire study (research purpose, method, findings and results, etc.). The Extended Summary section should start on a new page and consist of 500-750 words. This part should be carefully written in terms of grammar, expression and scope. It should be noted that this section will represent the international dimension of the journal and the article. Including the title, it should be written in 11 pt as in the main text, spacing: first 3 pt, then 3 pt formatting.
Research articles must be submitted with a plagiarism report before being uploaded to the journal. The plagiarism or similarity rate of the articles must be 20% or less.
While the articles are uploaded to the system, a total of 5 (five) documents must be uploaded:

The ethics committee report is mandatory for all candidate articles whose publication process begins in 2020 or later. While the candidate article is uploaded to the system, the ethics committee report must be uploaded to the system. For candidate articles that do not require ethics committee approval, the author's declaration form should be uploaded to the system, signed and scanned by the responsible author.
Cappadocia Education Journal (CAPED) is based on the guide prepared by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) 2017. According to this;

Editor's Responsibilities

The journal editor decides whether the article submissions made to the journal are appropriate and whether they will be published. The editor's decision is based on the originality of the article and whether it complies with the journal policy, not on the race, gender, religious ethnicity, and political views of the author. The editor does not share personal information about the application.

Responsibilities of the Referees

Reviewers should impartially evaluate the article referred to them. If the referees are not able to make an evaluation within the stipulated time, or if they are not related to their field of expertise, or if they see an ethical problem, they should inform the editor.

Authors Responsibilities

Authors should adhere to the ethical rules of publication in their work. Authors should clearly demonstrate the originality and objectivity of their work. It is not considered appropriate to submit an article to more than one journal at the same time.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

Candidate articles should be prepared in current versions of Microsoft Word program. Images and graphics used in the text should be able to be opened on computers using Windows operating system.

All texts in candidate articles should be written in “Garamond” font. The title of the candidate article should be in capital letters, bold, centered and 11 points. In candidate articles, the value between paragraphs should be 3 pt first and then 3 pt.
The ABSTRACT and ABSTRACT parts of the candidate articles should be written in "Garamond" font, 10 points including the title, and single-spaced.
The main text should be written in "Garamond" font, 11 font size including the headings, and the lines should be single-spaced. The text should include the introduction, research text, findings, comments, conclusions and recommendations within a certain plan. The headings in the article should be structured according to the APA 7 heading system without numbering. Candidate articles must have one line space before the titles. Detailed information is available in the file named article template in the system. The following examples are available for heading levels:
First Level Heading (Centered, Bold, Capitalized First Letters of Words)

Second Level Heading (Left aligned, Bold, First Letter of Words Capitalized)

Third Level Heading (Left aligned, Bold, Italic, First Letter of Words)

Fourth Level Title. (Indented, Bold, First Letters of Words, Ends with Period).

Fifth Level Title. (Indented, Bold, Italic, First Letters of Words, Ends with Period).



If the footnotes are given at the bottom of the page in the candidate articles, they should be written in 9 font size and single-spaced.
For page layout values, the formatting of the article template file must be applied.
Tables or figures can be used in candidate articles. It is recommended to briefly present the table before the tables. Tables should not have vertical lines, tables should consist of only 3 horizontal lines. Tables should be numbered with the Add Caption option on the References tab in Microsoft Word. The number and name of the table should be given in a single line above the table, centered, with the first letter of each word capitalized, excluding the conjunctions. Table and Number should be Bold. For example Table 1. Table Title. Table titles and text size should be set to 10 points. The text in the table should be left aligned. Note just below the table. Necessary additional information and explanations should be given with the title.
Figures (graphs, charts, maps, drawings, photographs, etc.) can be used in candidate articles. Figures should be numbered with the Add Caption option on the References tab in Microsoft Word. The number and name of the figure should be given below the figure in a single line, centered, with the first letter of each word capitalized, excluding the conjunctions. Shape and Number should be Bold. For example Figure 1. Figure Title. Note just below the shape. Necessary additional information and explanations should be given with the title.
The names of the authors should not appear in the candidate articles.

The reference will be based on the 7th edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual. In this context;

a) Footnotes in the articles sent to the journal are called Harvard (Conjunction) System; that is, the surname of the author (name of institution and report, etc.), date and page numbers should be given according to the system (Ex. Korkmaz, 2004: 15).



b) Authors should give the information that they believe should not be directly related to the subject but should be included in the work, by giving a sequence number to the upper right corner of the relevant word in the text, with the same number and 9 font size, 1 line spacing, as a footnote.



c) Titles for Tables, Figures and Graphs in case of a large number of indicators other than normal text such as Tables, Figures and Graphs; It should be written as APPENDIX Table 1, APPENDIX Graph 3 and APPENDIX Figure 7, ANNEXES should be given after REFERENCES at the end of the text. References to these indicators in the text must be made in the form of APPENDIX Table 1, APPENDIX Graph 3 or Supplementary Figure 7. If citations are made for tables, figures, graphics and pictures, the source must be specified. The titles of the annexes in question should be 11 points, the first letters of the words should be capitalized and bold.



d) All sources used in the manuscripts sent to the journal are given at the end of the publication under the title of "References", in alphabetical order according to the surname of the author, in accordance with APA 7 rules. The bibliography should be written in "Garamond" font, 11 pt and single-spaced.

Dissertation

References for doctorate and master's theses are handled under two headings as published and unpublished theses. Unpublished theses are generally those obtained in print directly from the institution itself. In the references of unpublished doctoral and master's theses, the name of the university is indicated as the source. Sample:

Published theses are those that are accessed from any database (For example, ProQuest, National Thesis Center, etc.), university archives or personal web pages. In published doctoral and master's theses, the name of the university is shown in corner brackets right after the title of the thesis. Sample:
