Our Academic Heritage and Vision
Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of Education Faculty was first published in 2000 under the title Süleyman Demirel University Burdur Faculty of Education Journal and has continued under its current title since 2006. The journal has been hosted and published on the DergiPark platform since 2010. With more than twenty-five years of publication history, the journal aims to contribute to the advancement of educational sciences by disseminating high-quality research, particularly in teaching, learning, and teacher education.
Journal History
- 2000: The journal began publication under the title Süleyman Demirel University Burdur Faculty of Education Journal (ISSN 1302-8944).
- 2006: Following institutional restructuring, the journal continued its publication under its current title, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of Education Faculty (e-ISSN 2146-5983).
- 2010: The journal began publishing through the DergiPark platform.
- 2025: The journal’s language policy was updated, and new manuscript submissions began to be accepted exclusively in English.
Fundamental Principles of Our Journal
- Open Access Policy: With the belief that scientific knowledge should be easily and freely accessible to everyone globally, our journal is published entirely on an open access basis.
- Publication Frequency: We meet with our readers regularly with four issues per year (January, April, July, and October).
- Peer Review Process: All articles undergo a rigorous evaluation process by experts in their respective fields.
- Original Content: In addition to original research and reviews in education and teacher training, the journal includes studies on innovative educational technologies, open educational resources, equal opportunity in education, improving educational quality, learning-teaching processes, and sustainable education. The journal welcomes original research across the core fields of educational sciences and interdisciplinary studies whose primary scholarly contribution addresses educational theory, policy, methodology, teaching, learning, or teacher education.
- Sustainable Development Goals: Our journal is part of the SDG Publishers Compact, which aims to accelerate progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

The journal follows the COPE Core Practices and relevant guidance issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) concerning publication ethics and research integrity. It also takes into account relevant principles and best practices concerning open access and transparent scholarly publishing established by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and OASPA. References to these organizations indicate adherence to their publicly available principles and guidance and do not imply organizational membership or endorsement unless explicitly stated. Additionally, it meticulously applies the publishing principles determined by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM DergiPark.
