Announcement Regarding SineFilozofi Journal's Article Submission Process and Updated Publication Policies

Article submission process for the SineFilozofi Journal will be reactivated between Monday, August 10, and Sunday, August 16, 2026. New submissions received during this period will be evaluated within the scope of our 2027 publication schedule. SineFilozofi reserves the right to close the submission process earlier than the announced end date depending on the volume of applications.

Overview of the Review Process 

All manuscripts submitted to our journal undergo a rigorous preliminary review and evaluation by our Editorial Board. Submissions that do not comply with our journal's publication policies or fail to meet the technical/formatting requirements are returned to the authors without initiating the peer-review process. A double-blind peer-review process will be conducted for all articles that successfully pass the preliminary evaluation and are assigned an editor. Upon completion of this process, authors will be officially notified via email.

 Important Notice Regarding Publication Queue and Waiting Periods 

Manuscripts submitted to our journal that successfully complete the peer-review process and are accepted for publication are assigned to upcoming issues based on their initial submission dates. Accordingly, we kindly request that our authors apply with the understanding that there may be a waiting period of a few issues for the publication phase. We would like to gently remind you that even if your study successfully passes all academic processes and is accepted, you may still experience a waiting period due to the high volume of manuscripts in the publication queue.

Updated Manuscript Submission and Formatting Guidelines 

To prevent submissions from being rejected during the preliminary evaluation stage, it is essential to pay utmost attention to our recently updated guidelines detailed below:

Anonymizing Author Identity: To maintain the absolute impartiality of the evaluation process, it is strictly required to remove any metadata from the MS Word file that could reveal the author's identity. Before uploading your manuscript to the system, please save your document by checking the "Remove personal information from this file on save" option located under the Review > Protect > Protect Document tab.

Mandatory Use of Reference Management Systems

To strengthen our journal's formatting and referencing standards at an international level, the use of reference management systems for generating citations and bibliographies is now mandatory. In this context, authors must prepare their submissions utilizing professional reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote, or Microsoft Word's built-in citation and bibliography management tool.

Submission Guidelines:

• Manuscripts are accepted in either Turkish or English.
• Manuscript submissions must be completed online via the following address:https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/journal/1707/submission/step/manuscript/new
• Additionally, all processes and correspondence regarding the manuscripts will be conducted through the DergiPark system. The evaluation process will be carried out in accordance with a double-blind peer-review system.
• Manuscripts submitted for the Special Issue must be prepared in accordance with the journal's general formatting guidelines and will be subject to all standard publication policies.
• The full text of the Word documents uploaded to the SineFilozofi journal system must not contain any author names. Users must use their real names in the member accounts they create for manuscript submission.
• Along with the manuscript, authors must upload the SineFilozofi Journal Article Information Form* (indicating the article type and containing relevant details), a wet-signed SineFilozofi Journal Copyright and Author Agreement* form, and a plagiarism report obtained from either Turnitin or iThenticate.

SineFilozofi is a peer-reviewed, widespread, periodical electronic journal published twice a year. The journal, which has an interdisciplinary structure between the fields of cinema and philosophy, aims to provide grounds for international academic debate in the field. SineFilozofi has adopted the policy of providing open access. The journal does not charge APCs or submission charges. The Journal is not commercial, and access to the journal content is free. SineFilozofi operates on the basis of volunteerism. No royalties are paid for the articles, book and movie reviews or interviews that are published in the journal. Articles sent to the journal should not be published elsewhere or sent for publication. Sinefilozofi journal does not reserve the publication rights of the articles. All publication rights belong to the authors. However, articles published in the journal cannot be used without reference.
