Call for Papers for Special Issue: THE CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE

Cinema is a field of experience that constructs the sensory dimension of thought by setting images in motion, an experience that “deterritorializes” us. Cinema is the place where the affective and sensory dimension of thought ceases to be concealed and manifests itself. In this respect, the cinematic experience is a holistic and dialogical field of encounter where body, memory, and time intertwine beyond mere seeing. This contact between the film and the spectator reveals a process of becoming, in which thought is constructed through sensation.

In this issue of SineFilozofi, we invite you to rethink cinema as a field of "experience." In that poetic dance of Apollo and Dionysus, we set out to rediscover, with a cine-philosophical sensibility, that boundary line where the screen touches our skin and where our own existence intertwines with the body of the film. We look forward to your original texts that ground the sensory residue cinema leaves within us and the spirit of the narrative with academic rigor, taking upon themselves the task of journeying together with the film.

Submission Information:

·       Articles are accepted in Turkish or English.

·       Article submissions must be made online at:

 https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/journal/1707/submission/step/manuscript/new.

·       Furthermore, all processes and correspondence regarding the articles will be carried out via the DergiPark system. The evaluation process will be conducted according to a double-blind peer-review system.

·       Articles submitted for the Special Issue must be prepared within the scope of the journal's general writing guidelines and will be subject to all publication policies.

·       There should be no author names in the full texts of the articles uploaded in Word format to the SineFilozofi journal system. Users must use their own names in the user accounts they create to submit an article.

·       Along with the articles, the SineFilozofi Journal Article Information Form*, stating the article type and containing information about the article, the wet-signed SineFilozofi Journal Copyright and Author Agreement* form, and a plagiarism report obtained from Turnitin or iThenticate must be uploaded.

IMPORTANT:* During the upload of the articles to be submitted to the Special Issue, the “Special Issue” (Özel Sayı)option must be selected. Applications submitted outside the Special Issue category within the specified date range will not be considered for publication.

IMPORTANT**: The system will be closed at the end of the application process, which will take place between the specified dates. Therefore, our authors are strongly requested to submit their work within the relevant period. Depending on the volume of submissions, the application system may be closed before the announced date. SineFilozofi is a peer-reviewed, widespread, periodical electronic journal published twice a year. The journal, which has an interdisciplinary structure between the fields of cinema and philosophy, aims to provide grounds for international academic debate in the field. SineFilozofi has adopted the policy of providing open access. The journal does not charge APCs or submission charges. The Journal is not commercial, and access to the journal content is free. SineFilozofi operates on the basis of volunteerism. No royalties are paid for the articles, book and movie reviews or interviews that are published in the journal. Articles sent to the journal should not be published elsewhere or sent for publication. Sinefilozofi journal does not reserve the publication rights of the articles. All publication rights belong to the authors. However, articles published in the journal cannot be used without reference.
