TAHKİK is registered with the MLA Directory of Periodicals and the MLA Master List of Periodicals and is an international academic journal indexed by the MLA International Bibliography, ATLA Religion, PHILPAPERS: Bibliography of Philosophy, and EBSCO Database. TAHKİK Journal of Islamic Studies Research and Publication, which began publication in 2018, is published twice a year in June and December by the Hacıveyiszade Science and Culture Foundation. Our journal is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes in the field of social and human sciences. The journal's languages of publication are Turkish, Arabic, English, and Persian.
TAHKİK's main research area is religious studies, primarily theology and Islamic sciences. Scientific research articles in the field of religion, including the fundamental areas of Islamic sciences, philosophy and religious studies, and Islamic history and arts, are included in this area. TAHKİK also publishes articles in the above fields, primarily reviews, as well as transcriptions into the Latin alphabet, simplifications, technical notes, book reviews, and translations.
TAHKİK is also a thematic journal. Its main theme is the preparation of a written text for publication through critical editing (edition critique). Research articles on manuscripts (mahtûtât), including research, cataloguing, library and literature reviews, also fall under this theme. The aim of this theme is to critically examine manuscripts that form part of the scientific heritage of Islamic sciences, to arrive at authentic, accurate, transparent and complete texts, and to publish them. TAHKİK may publish critical editions of treatises in the field of Islamic sciences, primarily in Arabic, Ottoman Turkish, and Persian.
