Today, tourism—whose economic, social, and cultural significance has been steadily increasing—constitutes an important force that can be leveraged to advance the rapidly growing and developing Turkic World.

To amplify the contributions that tourism can make to the progress and integration of the Turkic World, it is beneficial to examine the issue from a multidimensional perspective. In this vein, to encourage and disseminate academic research on the development perspectives, challenges, and solutions of tourism in the Turkic World, the International Journal of Turkic World Tourism Studies commenced publication in November 2015 as an international, peer-reviewed journal issued biannually.
