I have 13 years of corporate banking experience with a particular focus on the credit risk of non-retail borrowers from a wide range of sectors and geographies. I took a career break in 2016 to study for MSc (graduated from Amsterdam University in 2019) and a PhD (continuing at Marmara University) both in banking in a row. My PhD dissertation topic is "HERDING CHANNEL OF SYSTEMIC RISK IN EU BANKING: DO BUSINESS MODELS MATTER?" where the “herding channel” denominates the negative externality to financial stability through which individual bank’s diversification efforts put the overall tension in the banking sector in jeopardy if most banks subsequently become similar enough to each other.
