The Journal of Child and Development (J-CAD) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, and academic journal that publishes scientific research in child development, child health, early childhood education, family studies, psychology, social work, and related disciplines. J-CAD serves as a scholarly platform that supports scientific knowledge production centered on children and families, adopts an interdisciplinary approach, and aims to provide significant contributions to the existing literature.
The journal publishes theoretical and empirical research concerning developmental processes from early childhood through adolescence. It features studies examining children’s cognitive, socio-emotional, motor, linguistic, and self-care development, as well as national and international research addressing child development within the contexts of family, education, and social structures.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY
J-CAD adopts an Open Access publishing model. All published articles are freely available, immediately accessible, and can be used for scientific purposes. Articles may be shared under the terms of the Creative Commons license. The journal does not charge any fees at any stage of the publication process.
PUBLICATION FREQUENCY
The journal is published semi-annually: June and December.
INDEXING AND ACADEMIC STANDING
The Journal of Child and Development is currently indexed in DRJI and Google Scholar. The journal is actively evolving with the strategic goal of being indexed in prestigious databases such as TR Dizin, Scopus, ESCI, and SSCI.
PUBLICATION LANGUAGE
While the journal accepted manuscripts in both Turkish and English until 2025, it will exclusively consider manuscripts written in English for evaluation as of January 2026. This transition is designed to increase international visibility and expand the journal's scientific impact.
