Actions of Rough Groups
Öz
Rough set theory, introduced by Pawlak, provides a robust mathematical framework for modeling uncertainty through lower and upper approximations of sets. Over the years, it has developed into an important area with both theoretical and applied significance. While rough groups have been studied algebraically and rough actions have been considered from a topological perspective—most notably by Altassan et al.—a purely algebraic treatment of rough group actions has not yet been systematically developed. In this study, we define actions of rough groups on rough sets using the upper approximation principle and investigate their structural properties within approximation spaces. In particular, we introduce rough orbits and rough stabilizers, establish an orbit–stabilizer type theorem in the rough setting, analyze transitive, faithful, and free rough actions, and examine centralizers and normalizers arising from rough group actions. The results provide a coherent algebraic framework for symmetry in rough group theory and strengthen the connection between classical action theory and approximation-based structures.
