Karaelmas Journal of Occupational Health and Safety is the official, peer-reviewed, open access publication organ of Zonguldak Bulent Ecevit University. The financial expenses of the journal are covered by Zonguldak Bulent Ecevit University. The mission of the Journal is to advance knowledge of occupational health and safety. The aim of the journal is to provide grounds for the sharing of ideas and data developed by researchers and experts in the field of occupational health and safety.
The articles may cover topics for eliminating occupational accidents and diseases, improving the quality of working life by creating a safer and more comfortable working environment, and ultimately improving the health and safety of employees.
The journal focuses on original articles from all disciplines related to occupational health and safety. At the same time current legislative reviews, short communications and commentaries based on emergency situations and epidemiological surveys, and accident investigation and analysis methods are accepted in the journal.
Articles prepared in the areas of occupational health epidemiology, occupational hygiene, toxicology, health surveillance, occupational safety, ergonomics, work organization, risk factors (physical, chemical, biological), safety management systems and policies, social policy and economic evaluation related to occupational health and safety will be prioritized.
It publishes invited review articles, research articles, brief reports and letters to the editor, and case reports that are relevant to the scope of the journal, on the condition that they have not been previously published elsewhere. Basic science manuscripts, such as randomized, cohort, cross-sectional, and case control studies, are given preference. Invited reviews will be considered for peer review from known experts in the area.
Publication Frequency
Karaelmas Journal of Occupational Health and Safety, an internationally peer-reviewed journal, is published three times a year in April, August and December since 2021. In a year, only two special issues can be published. The announcements related to special issues are made at least one year prior to publication. The topics to be covered in the special issues are determined by the Editorial Board in a way that current discussions are the focus and so that special issue can guide the occupational health and safety policies.
Preparing the Manuscript
Manuscripts submitted for publication should not exceed 25 pages including appendix and references.
