The effect of different mineral filler mixtures on dispersion and thermal properties of polymer composites

Öz

In this study, the effects of different mineral filler (CaCO3, talc) mixtures on the dispersion and thermal properties of polymer (PE, PP) were examined. In the compound production carried out in a laboratory-scale twin-screw extruder, granular products were obtained by feeding talc and coated calcite (c-CaCO3) with low-density polyethylene (LDPE), high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) in certain proportions (wt. 30/70). Dispersion and thermal properties of the products were determined by performing MFI, density, TGA, FTIR and microtomography analyzes on the obtained polymer composite products.
