Review

The Journal of AHBVTFD is accepting the research papers and conceptual original scientific articles in the field of tourism on tourism and hotel management, tourism education, gastronomy, recreation and tourism guidance. 

Turizm alanındaki uygulamalı ve kavramsal özgün bilimsel makalelerdir. 

Paper Guideline:  

The language of journals is Turkish. (But the articles accepted by editorial board can be published in English)

Submission and review process is conducted on DergiPark.  


Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elswhere. 


The preferred software for submission is Microsoft Word.



The name of institution that identifies the author (s) should not be included in the submission file or file name. 


Author information (name-surname, title, ORCID, institution, corresponding author) must be submit as seperate a"title page". 


The kind of study must be indicated on the title page as research paper, conceptual paper etc. 


The plagiarism report of the paper (turnitin, ithenticate etc.) must be submitted as attached file.  

The paper consists of the following chapters respectively: 

 

·       Abstract (max. 250 words). 

·       Keywords: (Max. 5 words)

·    


Introduction

     

      Literature Review  

·       Methodology 

·       Findings 

·       Conclusion and Recommendations 

·       References

·     

·    All manuscripts must be submitted in accordance with the style of writing specified in the book of Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th Edition) which was published by the American Psychological Association (APA) Usually, this material is easily accessible in most of the university libraries and it does contain lots of examples for the text references and writing styles.


Journal of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Faculty of Tourism has adopted the "Open Access" publication policy. No fee is charged from the authors under the names of article submission fee, article processing fee, article publishing fee and similar names.

Manuscripts to be sent to the journal must not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication. When submitting their work, individuals are obliged to declare that the work has not been published, partially or completely, on any other platform before, and has not been evaluated for publication.

In case of a contrary situation, the author will be held responsible for the situation in accordance with the relevant sanctions. The authors agree to waive the copyright of their work and transfer the copyright of their work to Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Journal of Tourism Faculty together with the submission for evaluation. This transfer becomes binding with the acceptance of the article for publication. 

Review Process
The articles sent to Journal of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Faculty of Tourism first go through editorial review. At this stage, the submitted studies are checked for compliance with the journal in terms of subject, scope, method, ethical principles and writing rules. If there are issues that need to be corrected, the study is sent back to the author and these issues are reported. If there is a violation of the purpose, scope or principles of the journal, the study is rejected with the approval of the editorial board during the editorial review phase.

The next step after the editorial review is the peer-review process. In the referee evaluation process, the study is sent to at least two referees who are experts in the subject and are asked to be evaluated. In the referee evaluation process, the principle of "blind peer review" is applied. Accordingly, the information of the authors and the referees is not shared with the referees. If one of the referees gives a rejection decision during the referee evaluation process, a third referee is appointed. It is ensured that the author makes the necessary changes/corrections according to the referee evaluation reports. In the appointment of referees, care is taken not to appoint referees from the same institution or who have joint work with each other.


Ethics Committee Permission

ULAKBİM TR Index evaluation process of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Tourism Faculty Journal continues. Within the scope of the said evaluation criteria, the TR Index Journal Evaluation criteria have been updated to be implemented in 2020, and the articles related to the ethics committee permission, which should be in particular in scientific research, have been detailed. Under the heading of ethical rules, "Ethics committee approval must be obtained separately for studies conducted in all branches of science, including social sciences, and for clinical and experimental studies on humans and animals that require an ethics committee decision, this approval must be stated and documented in the article." criterion is expressed. It is stated that the documents and information requested for studies that require ethics committee approval are mandatory for publications whose process or implementation started in 2020.
Within the scope of TR Index 2020 criteria, research articles must obtain Ethics Committee Permission and information about the permission (name of the board, date and number) should be stated in the method section of the article. In addition, the authors are required to send the Ethics Committee Permission document as an additional document when submitting the article.
However, ethics committee approval is not required for articles whose data were collected before 2020 in Research Articles. However, in these articles, information about the data collection dates should be included in the method section.

Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli Üniversitesi Turizm Fakültesi Dergisi "açık erişim" (Open Access) politikasını benimsemiştir. "Hiçbir ad altında yazar veya kurumundan ücret alınmaz."

Dr. M. Murat Kızanlıklı completed his Master’s degree (2008) and PhD (2014) in the Department of Tourism Management at the Graduate School of Educational Sciences, Gazi University.
He worked as a Research Assistant at Atatürk University in Erzurum between 2007 and 2010; and at Gazi University between 2010 and 2017.  In 2019, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Tourism Sciences. Between 2020 and 2025, he worked as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Tourism, Kyrgyz–Turkish Manas University, where he also worked as the Head of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management. Since 1 September 2025, he has been working as a Professor at the Faculty of Tourism, Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University.
His research interests include human resources management in tourism, consumer rights, tourism legislation, and sustainable tourism.
Since 2019, he has been serving as the Editor in Chief of the Journal of the Faculty of Tourism, Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University.

Alper Işın is an Associate Professor in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Faculty of Tourism, İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University. He completed his master’s degree in the Tourism Management Education Program at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Gazi University, and his PhD in the Tourism Management Program at the Institute of Social Sciences, Gazi University. As of 2025, he also holds an academic position at Kyrgyzstan–Türkiye Manas University. His primary academic and research interests include tourism management, tourism marketing, tourist behavior, and gastronomy studies.

Zélia Breda holds a PhD in Tourism, a MA in Chinese Studies (Business and International Relations) and a BSc in Tourism Management and Planning from the University of Aveiro, where she is Assistant Professor and Vice-Director of the PhD in Tourism. She is an integrated member of the Research Unit 'Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies', and a founding member of the Observatory of China, and a senior consultant of Idtour, a tourism R&D spin-off company. She is also member of the editorial and scientific boards of a few academic national and international journals, as well member of the organizing and scientific committees of international tourism conferences. She has authored and co-authored several national and international papers and communications on tourism development and planning. She has also been taking part of several research projects in the tourism field, both as a member of the team and as a consultant.

Prof. Dr. Fügen Durlu Özkaya graduated from Ankara University and received her PhD in Food Engineering. Her research interests include food science, gastronomy education, sustainable gastronomy, sensory analysis, product development, traditional Turkish culinary culture, and food safety. She has published numerous articles, book chapters, and conference papers in national and international journals, and has served as a principal investigator and researcher in various scientific projects, contributing to the advancement of the gastronomy discipline.

Yüksek lisans derecesini Gazi Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Üretim Yönetimi ve Pazarlama Programı’ndan (1989), doktora derecesini de İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Turizm Programı’ndan aldı (1993). Gazi Üniversitesi Mesleki Eğitim Fakültesi Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Eğitimi Bölümü’nde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak çalışmaya başladı (1986). Yardımcı Doçent Dr (1994), Doçent Dr (1999) ve sonrasında ise Profesör olarak görevine devam etmektedir (2004). Halen Gazi Üniversitesi’nin bölünmesi ile Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli Üniversitesi, Turizm Fakültesi, Turizm İşletmeciliği Bölümü’nde Profesör olarak görev yapmaktadır (2018-devam ediyor). Temel çalışma alanları, turizm işletmelerinde pazarlama ağırlıklı olmak üzere, dijital pazarlama, sosyal medya pazarlaması.

Bolu Otelcilik ve Turizm Meslek Lisesinden 1986 yılında birincilikle mezun olduktan sonra, Çukurova Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Mersin Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksekokulu’nda bir yıl İngilizce hazırlık sınıfı okuyarak 1991 yılında turizm işletmecisi ünvanı alarak lisans derecesi ile mezun olmuştur. 5 Eylül 1991 tarihinde Erciyes Üniversitesi Nevşehir Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksekokulu’nda öğretim görevlisi olarak çalışmaya başlamış, aynı yıl Erciyes Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Turizm İşletmeciliği Anabilim Dalında yüksek lisans çalışmalarına başlamıştır. 1993 yılında turizm işletmeciliği alanında yüksek lisans derecesi almıştır. 1993 yılında Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Turizm İşletmeciliği Anabilim Dalında doktora öğrenimine başlamıştır. Doktora ders aşamasını tamamladıktan sonra, Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi’ndeki doktora çalışmalarını bırakıp, Ocak 1996’da 2547 Sayılı Kanun’un 33. Maddesine göre İngiltere Strathclyde Üniversitesi İskoçya Otelcilik Okulu’nda doktora öğrenimine devam etmiştir. Ağustos 1999’da turizm işletmeciliği alanında doktora derecesini alarak yurda dönmüş ve Erciyes Üniversitesi Nevşehir Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksekokulu’nda Haziran 2000’de yardımcı doçentliğe atanmıştır. 7 Nisan 2006 tarihinde pazarlama anabilim dalında doçent ünvanını almıştır. Ağırlama Endüstrisine Giriş, Pazarlama Araştırması, Temel İstatistik, Turizm Pazarlaması, Seyahat Acentaları ve Tur Operatörleri, Sosyal Bilimlerde Araştırma Metod ve Teknikleri derslerini vermektedir. Ulusal projelerle uluslararası AB projelerinde görev almış ve yürütmüştür. İyi derecede İngilizce bilmekte olup, turizm ve otel işletmeciliği alanında pek çok ulusal ve uluslararası yayınları mevcuttur.
