The Journal of Academic Tourism Analysis (Journal ATA) aims to advance the tourism discipline by publishing studies focused on tourism or interdisciplinary research with a tourism-related subject and/or application. The journal seeks to contribute to the tourism field, provide scientific insights for practitioners, and promote the development of the tourism sector through scholarly work. It considers studies related to tourism, particularly those in the fields of Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourism Guidance, and Recreation Management, as well as interdisciplinary, theoretical, empirical, and/or case studies within the tourism sector.
History of the Journal
Journal of Academic Tourism Analysis (Journal ATA) was first launched in 2020 under the title Journal of Eurasian Tourism Research. From its inception, the journal has adopted a scholarly and peer-reviewed publishing policy. During its first year, the journal was published annually; in subsequent years, it continued publication on a biannual basis through the TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM DergiPark platform. In its fifth year of publication, the journal changed its title to Journal of Academic Tourism Analysis in order to better address the international tourism research community and to enhance its global academic visibility. To improve accessibility and ensure continuity in the publication process, the ATA Journal adopted a continuous publication model as of 2026 and continues its publishing activities within this framework.
