Bio

Kemal Enes (PhD) has been giving lectures in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at
Faculty of Tourism, Mersin University since 2014. Previously, he worked as a Culinary Arts expert in
the Culinary Department of Amasya University. He has a PhD in Tourism. His passion for gastronomy
started with a culinary study at a vocational high school. Before working in academia, he held
various positions in the tourism industry, hotel kitchens and catering operations. He has chapters in
several books, scientific presentations and articles about tourism and gastronomy. Also, he has
various international experiences including;
Preparing meals of Turkish cuisine with the Radisson hotel team in Dhaka for the Turkish festival and
Turkish national day reception, by the invitation of the Turkish Embassy. Then providing consultancy on
restaurants and gastronomy as a senior expert within the scope of Kazakhstan 2020 project by the invitation of the Kazakhstan Embassy . He also gave lectures about Turkish cuisine within the scope of Erasmus in Finland and Hungary. In addition,
in the last 10 years, he has participated in many local food festivals in Turkey and participated as
juries, guest etc.
He has been studying in order to promote Turkish gastronomy owing to his passion for gastronomy in
general.
