She graduated from the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, Yıldız Technical University. She began her journalism career that same year with the "Pazar" supplement of *Hürriyet* newspaper and went on to work as an editor and publications manager for various media outlets, including *Tempo*, *Nokta* Publications (*Arkitekt*), TRT, *Coliseum Life*, and *Karaf* Magazine (Wine and Lifestyle Culture). She completed her master's and doctoral studies in the Cinema-Television Department at Marmara University. With two documentaries she directed—*Çoban Yıldızı / Bedia Muvahhit* and *Paris Apartmanı*—she participated in national and international festivals, most notably the Ankara Film Festival. She produced and hosted the programs "Hayal Feneri" and "Pencere Önü Çiçekleri" for TRT Istanbul Radio. In addition to her own books—*Doğan Kuban: A Renaissance Man*, *Anthology of Architects Who Are Writers*, and *The First Feature-Length Animated Film of Turkish Cinema: Evvel Zaman İçinde* (co-authored with Burçak Evren in 2014)—she has prepared numerous titles for publication by Literatür Publishing, such as *The Fundamentals of Film Making* (Jane Barnwell), *The City of Izmir in the 19th Century* (Rauf Beyru), and *Turgutreis – 1974* (Suha Özkan, Richard Plunz). Her 126-minute film *Gölgenin Seyri* (2021) was screened at many international festivals, particularly in Istanbul and Ankara. Prof. Nazlı Eda Noyan (İzmir, 1974) is an artist, designer, and scholar working at the intersection of storytelling, design, and animation. She holds BA and MFA degrees in Graphic Design from Dokuz Eylül University, Bilkent University, and the University of Florida, and a PhD from Istanbul Technical University focused on film title design in Turkish cinema.

She is the founding head of the Cartoon and Animation Department at Bahçeşehir University and established its MA Program in Communication Design, teaching widely across design, animation, and visual culture. She began her career at UNICEF Ghana as an intern.

Noyan is the author and illustrator of 13 children’s books and an award-winning filmmaker. Her animated shorts, including The Children of the Other Lands and A Cup of Turkish Coffee, have received international recognition, and her work is featured in A New History of Animation (2016). She coproduced with France and directed short animation film A Tender Dream pitched at Annecy broadcasted at France TV and is currently producing her first feature film, Sisters’ Tale which also was pitched at Annecy, under her company Girl Saw the Sea Productions.

She has served on international festival juries and is active in professional organizations such as SEYAP, EWA, GEAS, and GMK. She founded and directs the ANIMIST Istanbul Animation Platform and its sister graphic novel initiative, Great Expectations, as well as EFEKT VFX Days & Awards and ANiKA – Women of Animation Türkiye - a WIA Collective. She also directs the Turkish branch of the Black Sea Animation Workshop. She lives in Istanbul.
