Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty (EUJEF) (2148-7510) is a double-blind peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research papers in the field of education to spread scientific knowledge and lead both teachers and scholars.
EUJEF is published three times in a year (April-August-December) in the online version by Erzincan Binali Yildirim University, Faculty of Education, Turkey.
EUJEF is devoted to making visible highly-qualified publications with its open-access policy and missions to be one of the leading journals of educational sciences indexed by well-known international indexes.
The scope of EUJEF includes the following fields: Foreign Language Education, Native Language Teaching, Science and Maths Teaching, Sports Education, Fine Arts Education, Technology-based Instruction, Social Sciences Education, and any fields related to Learning, Teaching and Teacher Education. The journal welcomes submissions in English and Turkish (with extended English abstract).
Article Submission
In the submission of the article, the following files stated below should be arranged according to the spelling rules and uploaded to the system separately.

1. Title Page
The title page should be prepared in both Turkish and English. The title page should include the full title of the article (no more than 15 words), the name, surname, position (job title), and institution info of the author(s) besides ORCID information and e-mail address. It should also contain the corresponding author's contact info and full address as the footer of the page.
The title of the article should be written at the top of the page, the first letters capitalized, in Times New Roman 11 font size, centered and bold, and 1.5 line spacing.
Under the title of the article, the authors should be given as Name and Surname, respectively, and a comma should be placed between the authors. The title, institution, e-mail and ORCID information of the authors should be given with footnotes just below the names of the authors.

2. Manuscript
Manuscripts should not contain the names, surnames and contact information of the authors or any information that may reveal the identities of the authors. In general, it should be prepared in accordance with the rules stated below.
Page Structure and Spelling Rules
The article should be written in Times New Roman, 11 font size and 1.5 spaced. The article should be written on an A4 size page, justified on both sides with a margin of 2.5 cm from all edges (right, left, top and bottom). Paragraph beginnings should be indented. There should be 12” space after the paragraph.
Headings
Numbered headings should not be used in the article. First-degree headings should be left-aligned, bold, and the first letters of each word should be capitalized. Second-degree headings should be left indented, the first letters of each word should be capitalized and bold. Third-degree headings should be left indented, in sentence-order, and bold. Fourth-degree headings should be left indented and in sentence order.
Tables
All the text in the tables should be written in 10-12 font sizes. The table title should be in bold and table text should be in sentence structure. Row lines should be used only under the table title and to separate the main sections. The title should be placed above the table. APA 7 writing style should be used for the tables. All tables should be prepared in MS Word format and be editable.
Figures and Graphics
Figures should be placed in the middle of the page. The figure title should be centered under the figure. Figure title should be in bold, figure text should be in sentence structure.
Sections of the Article
The main text of the article should include the title, Turkish and English abstracts, introduction, method, findings, discussion, conclusion and suggestions, author contribution rates, conflict of interest statement, acknowledgment (if any), references and extended English abstract.
Title of the Article. The title should be placed at the top of the page and written in Times New Roman font, 11 font size, centered and bold, 1.5 line spacing. The first letters of the title should be written in capitals.
Abstract. At the beginning of each article, there should be an abstract in Turkish and English. If the language of the article is Turkish, "Özet" should come first, and if it is English, "Abstract" should come first. Abstracts should include the purpose and method of the research, sample or study group, data collection tool and important results. Abstracts should be justified alignment and should not exceed 150-200 words. Abstracts should be written in Times New Roman font, 10 font size and single-spaced. Below each abstract, there should be 4-6 keywords that reflect the content of the article. A colon is placed after the abstract title in bold and the text continues on the same line.
Introduction. In this section, the problem, purpose and significance of the study should be stated and the relevant literature should be presented. The theoretical foundations of the study should be explained in a non-literary way based on basic sources, especially the keywords and the variables discussed should be explained. At the same time, related studies should be included in the introduction. In this section, if necessary, sub-titles can be used by the author. The purpose of the study should be given in a simple and understandable way through a subtitle or a new paragraph in the introduction and it should form the basis for the research hypotheses/ problems/ questions. It should be noted that the purpose is based on a problem situation created within the framework of the theoretical structure and literature presented in the introduction.
Method. In this section, the method adopted to seek answers to the research questions should be clearly presented. For this aim, provided that changes can be made according to the type of research, the following sub-headings should be explained: research design, study group/sample, data collection tools, data analysis, process/process. The design of the research should be given in connection with the research questions and the process, and the psychometric properties of the data collection tools should be introduced. For the analysis of the data, if the studies on the data and the decision-making process on the analysis technique are necessary, a brief introduction of the analysis should be stated. Ethics committee information (name, date and document number) should also be included in this section. The name of the institution giving the ethics committee should be written as XXX, the name of the university and institution should not be given clearly. This information will be written after the evaluation.
Results. The findings of the study should be written in this section. This section should be written in line with the spelling rules stated throughout the article. Tables and figures should be prepared in line with the spelling rules. In the findings, figures, formulas and statistical results should be displayed according to APA 7 writing style.
Discussion. In this section, the results of the research should be presented and the obtained results should be compared with various data sources and related literature. Particular attention should be paid that only previous studies supporting or not supporting the findings of the research should not be presented in this section, and the research findings should be discussed within the framework of the relevant theoretical structure and literature. At the same time, the limitations of the research should be given.
Conclusion and Suggestions. In this section, conclusions and suggestions regarding the findings of the research should be presented. The conclusion should not be in the form of a summary of the research findings but should show what the findings obtained from the research mean in terms of theory and practice. Suggestions should be written directly based on research findings and limitations. Suggestions that are too general should not be given.
Author Contribution Rates. It is the declaration of each author’s contribution/contributions from the preparation process of the article to the publication.
Sample-1. All authors equally took part in all processes of the article. All authors read and approved the final version of the study.
Sample-2. The first author carried out the planning of the study and the literature review process. All authors contributed to the data collection process. The first and second authors performed statistical analyzes. All authors contributed to the writing of the article and read and approved the final version of the study.
Conflict of Interest. The people who contributed to the article sent to the journal should be stated as the authors. Authors are responsible for reporting all personal and financial relations that may be an interest to their work. If there is no personal or financial conflict of interest in the study, the authors may declare as follows.
“The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest with an institution or person within the scope of the study.”
Ethics Committee Statement. Ethics committee statement should be given in accordance with the sample text given below.
In case it is subject to the approval of the ethics committee: The purposes and procedure of the current study were granted approval from the ethical committee of the XXX University (Ethics Committee’s Decision Date: 01.01.2022, Ethics Committee Approval Issue Numbers: 2021/01).
In case it is not subject to ethics committee approval: The authors declare that the current study is not subject to the approval of the ethics committee and that the rules set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) were followed throughout the study.
Acknowledgment. If available, authors should write acknowledgments in this section.
References. Referencing should be prepared in APA (7th) format.
Extended English summary. In accordance with general writing rules, the authors should prepare a summary in English including the headings of introduction, method, findings, discussion, conclusion and suggestions and reflecting the entire article concisely. The extended English summary should be at least 1000 words long.
3. Ethics Committee Permission Document
It is compulsory to obtain the permission of the ethics committee and upload the permission document to the system for the studies in which qualitative or quantitative approaches were adopted and required to collect the data from the participants by using survey, interview, focused group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques; for the studies in which human and animals (including material/ data) are used for experimental purposes or other scientific purposes; in clinical studies on humans and animals and in retrospective studies in accordance with the law on the protection of personal data.
In addition, it is obligatory to state that an “informed consent form” has been obtained in case reports, to obtain permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others and to state, and to indicate that copyright regulations are complied with the intellectual and artistic works used.
If the study is a study that does not require ethics committee approval, it must be declared by filling out the document given below.

4. Similarity Report
The authors are required to upload the similarity report of the full text of their work. The similarity report should be prepared in accordance with the following rules and uploaded in PDF format: “Extract citations: Off; Extract bibliography: On; Extract Matches: Off, Source exclusion threshold: Word count 5.” The acceptable similarity rate for EUJEF is a maximum of 15%. It is decided after the review made by the Editorial Board whether the studies with an originality report exceeding 10% will be included in the preliminary examination.
5. Copyright Form
The copyright form should include the names, surnames, titles, institutions, and signatures of all authors. It should be signed by the responsible author and uploaded to the system.

6. Cover Letter
The authors should explain the originality and significance of the study, the research problem addressed in the study, and the reason why their study is suitable for this journal with their own expressions. The summary of the study should not be written in this section. The authors should briefly introduce the study they have done in the article, the significance of the study, and the reasons why readers will be interested in this study.
Ethics Policy & Publication Ethics
The publication process at the Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty is the basis of the improvement and dissemination of information objectively and respectfully. Therefore, the procedures in this process improve the quality of the studies. Peer-reviewed studies are the ones that support and materialize the scientific method. At this point, it is of utmost importance that all parties included in the publication process (authors, readers, and researchers, publishers, reviewers, and editors) comply with the standards of ethical considerations.
Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty expects all parties to hold the following ethical responsibilities.
The following ethical duties and responsibilities are written in light of the guidelines and policies made by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
The authors who submit their manuscripts to Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:
1. Author(s) must submit original studies to the Journal. If they utilize or use other studies, they must make the in-text and end-text references accurately and completely.
2. People who have not contributed to the study at the intellectual level should not be indicated as the author.
3. If the manuscripts submitted to be published subject of conflicting interests or relations, these must be explained.
4. During the review process of their manuscripts, the author(s) may be asked to supply raw data. In such a case, the author(s) should be ready to submit such data and information to the editorial board.
5. Author(s) should document that they have the participants’ consent and the necessary permissions related to the sharing and research/analysis of the data that are used.
6. Author(s) bears the responsibility to inform the editor of the Journal or publisher if they happen to notice a mistake in their study, which is in early release or publication process and to cooperate with the editors during the correction or withdrawal process.
7. Authors cannot submit their studies to multiple journals simultaneously. Each submission can be made only after the previous one is completed. A study published in another journal cannot be submitted to the Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty.
8. Author responsibilities are given in a study (e.g., adding an author, reordering of author names) cannot be changed if the review process has begun.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
The editors Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty should hold the following ethical responsibilities that are based on the guides “COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” and “COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” published as open Access by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
General duties and responsibilities
Editors are responsible for each study published in the Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty. In this respect, the editors have the following roles and responsibilities:
1. Making efforts to meet the demand for knowledge from readers and authors,
2. Ensuring the continuous development of the Journal,
3. Managing the procedures aimed to improve the quality of the studies published in the Journal,
4. Supporting intellectual freedom,
5. Ensuring academic integrity,
6. Following the procedures without making concessions on intellectual property rights and ethical standards,
7. Being transparent and clear in issues that require correction or explanation.
Relationships with Readers
Editors must make decisions taking into consideration the knowledge, skills, and expectations of all readers, researchers, and practitioners that they need. Editors must also ensure that the published studies should contribute to the literature and be original. Moreover, they must take notice of the feedback received from readers, researchers, and practitioners and provide explanatory and informative feedback.
Relationships with Authors
Editors have the following duties and responsibilities in their relations with authors:
1. Editors must make positive or negative decisions about the studies’ importance, originality, validity, clarity in wording, and suitability with the Journal’s aims and objectives.
Editors must take the studies that are within the scope of the publication into the pre-review process unless there are serious problems with the study.
2. Editors must not ignore positive suggestions made by reviewers unless there are serious problems with the study.
3. New editors, unless there are serious issues, must not change the previous editor’s decisions about the studies.
4. “Blind Review and Review Process” must be published, and editors must prevent possible diversions from the defined processes.
5. Editors must publish an “Author’s Guide” that is comprehensive enough in answering queries by authors. This guide must be updated regularly.
6. The authors should be provided with explanatory and informative feedback.
Relationships with Reviewers
Editors have the following duties and responsibilities in their relations with reviewers:
Editors must
1. Choose reviewers according to the subject of the study.
2. Provide the information and guidance reviewers may need during the review process.
3. Observe whether there are conflicting interests between reviewers and authors.
4. Keep the identities of reviewers confidential in a blind review.
5. Encourage the reviewers to review the manuscript in an unbiased, scientific, and objective tone.
Evaluate reviewers regularly based on criteria like performance and timing.
6. Develop practices and policies that increase the performance of reviewers.
7. Take the necessary steps to update the reviewer pool dynamically.
8. Prevent unkind and unscientific reviews.
9. Make an effort to ensure the reviewer pool has a wide range.
Relationships with the Editorial Board
Editors must make sure that the members of the editorial board follow the procedures in accordance with the publication policies and guidelines, and must inform the members about the publication policies and developments. The editors must also train new members of the editorial board and provide the information they need.
Moreover, editors must
1. Ensure that the members of the editorial board review the manuscripts in an unbiased and independent manner.
2. Select the new members of the editorial board from those who can contribute to the Journal and are qualified enough.
3. Send manuscripts for review based on the subject of expertise of the editorial board members.
4. Regularly communicate with the editorial board.
5. Arrange regular meetings with the editorial board for the development of publication policies and the Journal.
6. Relationships with the Journal’s Owner and Publisher
7. The relationship between the editors and publishers is based on the principle of the independence of editors.
Editorial and Blind Review Processes
Editors are obliged to comply with the policies of the “Blind Review and Review Process” stated in the Journal’s publication policies. Therefore, the editors ensure that each manuscript is reviewed in an unbiased, fair, and timely manner.
Quality Assurance
Editors must make sure that articles in the Journal are published in accordance with the publication policies of the Journal and international standards.
Protection of Personal Information
Editors are supposed to protect the personal information related to the subjects or visuals in the studies being reviewed and to reject the study if there is no documentation of the subjects’ consent. Furthermore, editors are supposed to protect the personal information of the authors, reviewers, and readers.
Encouraging Ethical Rules and the Protection of Human and Animal Rights
Editors are supposed to protect human and animal rights in the studies being reviewed and must reject the experimental studies which do not have ethical and related committee’s approval about the population given in such studies.
Precautions against possible Abuse and Malpractice
Editors are supposed to take precautions against possible abuse and malpractice. They must conduct investigations meticulously and objectively in determining and evaluating complaints about such situations. They must also share the results of the study.
Ensuring Academic Integrity
Editors must make sure that the mistakes, inconsistencies, or misdirections in studies are corrected quickly.
Protection of Intellectual Property Rights
Editors are responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all the articles published in the Journal and the rights of the Journal and author(s) in cases where these rights are violated. Also, editors must take the necessary precautions in order to prevent the content of all published articles from violating the intellectual property rights of other publications.
Constructiveness and Openness to Discussion
Editors must
1. pay attention to the convincing criticism about studies published in the Journal and must have a constructive attitude towards such criticism.
2. Grant the right of reply to the author(s) of the criticized study.
3. Not ignore or exclude the study that includes negative results.
Complaints
Editors must examine the complaints from authors, reviewers, or readers and respond to them in an explanatory and enlightening manner.
Political and Economic Apprehensions
Neither the owner of the Journal, publisher, or any other political or economic factor can influence the independent decision making of the editors.
Conflicting Interests
Editors, acknowledging that there may be conflicting interests between reviewers and other editors, guarantee that the publication process of the manuscripts will be completed in an independent and unbiased manner.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
The fact that all manuscripts are reviewed through “Blind Review” has a direct influence on the publication quality. This process ensures confidentiality by an objective and independent review. The review process at Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty is carried out on the principle of double-blind review. Reviewers do not contact the authors directly, and the reviews and comments are conveyed through the journal management system. In this process, the reviewer comments on the evaluation forms, and full texts are assigned to the author(s) by the editor. In this context, the reviewers doing review work for the Journal are supposed to bear the following ethical responsibilities:
Reviewers must
1. agree to review only in their subject of expertise.
2. review in an unbiased and confidential manner.
3. inform the editor of the Journal if they think that they encounter a conflict of interest and decline to review the manuscript during the review process.
4. dispose of the manuscripts they have reviewed in accordance with the principle of confidentiality after the review process. Reviewers can use the final versions of the manuscripts they have reviewed only after publication.
5. review the manuscript objectively and only in terms of its content and ensure that nationality, gender, religious and political beliefs, and economic apprehension do not influence the review.
6. review the manuscript in a constructive and kind tone, avoid making personal comments, including hostility, slander, and insult.
7. review the manuscript, and they have agreed to review on time and in accordance with the ethical rules stated above.
Ethical Responsibilities of Publisher
Erzincan Binali Yildirim University, the publisher of the Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty, is a non-profit foundation university. Therefore, the Board of Erzincan University Journal of Education Faculty is conscious of the fact that they must observe the ethical responsibilities below and act accordingly:
Editors are responsible for all the processes that the manuscripts submitted to the Journal will go through. Within this framework, ignoring the economic or political interests, the decision-makers are the editors.
1. The publisher undertakes to have an independent editorial decision made.
2. The publisher bears all the responsibility to take precautions against scientific abuse, fraud, and plagiarism.
