Farabi Tıp Dergisi

General Information: Farabi Medical Journal (Farabi Med J) is the official, international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific publication of the Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine. The journal publishes original clinical and experimental research, case reports, editorials, and letters to the editor in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and health sciences. Review articles are accepted only upon invitation by the Editorial Board.

Publication Model and Frequency: As of 2026, Farabi Medical Journal has adopted the Continuous Publication model. Manuscripts that have completed the peer-review process and are accepted are published online immediately within a single annual Volume, without waiting for a specific issue date. This model aims to present current scientific knowledge to the academic community without delay.

Publication Language: The publication language of the journal is English. (Note: Abstracts are published in both English and Turkish. Translation support for Turkish abstracts is provided by the Editorial Office for non-Turkish speaking authors).

Indexing: Farabi Medical Journal is abstracted and indexed in the following national and international databases:

EBSCO (Since September 2024), Google Scholar, ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources), OpenAlex, Crossref, SUDOC, Scilit

Fee Policy (Diamond Open Access): Farabi Medical Journal follows a non-profit publication policy. No fees (Article Processing Charges - APCs) are requested from authors at any stage of the submission, evaluation, or publication processes. No royalties are paid to authors for published articles.

Ethical Principles and Plagiarism: Policy For studies involving human or animal subjects, compliance with international declarations (Helsinki) and approval from the relevant ethics committee are mandatory; approval details must be explicitly stated within the manuscript (in the Methods section). All submissions undergo plagiarism screening via iThenticate or intihal.net. Manuscripts with high similarity rates (above 20%) or ethical violations will be rejected.

Publication Conditions: Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published elsewhere and must not be under consideration by another journal simultaneously.
