Aim
The main aim of our journal is to contribute to scientific developments in the fields of social sciences and humanities, creating a platform for the generation and dissemination of academic knowledge. Our core objectives include enhancing interdisciplinary interaction, supporting original research, and advancing scholarly thought, always adhering to ethical standards and academic quality.
Scope
Our journal covers research across various disciplines within social sciences and humanities. We publish original research articles, review papers, book reviews, and theoretical discussions in fields such as history, sociology, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, literature, linguistics, educational sciences, economics, political science, international relations, and religious studies. Priority is given to studies employing interdisciplinary approaches, drawing from different disciplinary perspectives, and contributing innovative insights to academic debates.

Period of Publication
Turkish Academic Research Review (tarr) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published 4 issues per year (March-June-September-December).
Target Audience
The target audience of Journal of Turkish Academic Research Review [tarr] is Academicians, Researchers, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Doctorate students, and interested readers.
Publication Language
The primary publication language of the journal is Turkish; however, articles in English and Arabic are also accepted.
The Journal of Turkish Academic Research Review Writing Rules [e-ISSN: 2602-2923]
1. Articles submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
2. The headings in the article must be fully consistent with the content and adequately express it.
3. The template to be used in the article contains instructions on formatting and layout, as well as a style gallery. All information regarding font size, paragraph spacing, etc., must comply with these instructions, and styles from the style gallery must be used where necessary.
4. Before uploading the final version of works to be uploaded to the system, especially those approved for publication, the author's name, ORCID ID, and email address must be added to the relevant sections of the file, along with institutional information in both Turkish and English.
5. References to sources used in preparing the work, figure and table numbers should not be mentioned in the “Abstract.”
6. The first keyword should be the main field of study (department), and four more keywords should be added (five keywords in total). All keywords, except for proper nouns, should be written in lowercase letters, separated by commas, and without a period at the end.
7. The entire study should be a maximum of 10,000 words. Studies exceeding this limit will be returned to the author for reduction of the total word count.
8. Tables, figures, visuals, graphs, etc. included in works submitted to the journal should have a maximum width of 12 cm. Each should be numbered and titled. The necessary details are provided in the template file.
9. All text within the images, graphs, and figures added to the work must be legible; letters, words, etc., must not be illegible.
10. Direct quotations of fewer than 40 words should be enclosed in double quotation marks (quotations within quotations should be enclosed in single quotation marks). Direct quotations of 40 words or more should be given as block quotations according to APA 7 rules (as detailed in the template).
11. Endnotes (if necessary) should only be used for explanations. References to be provided within the page should be given as “in-text citations” within the text in accordance with APA 7.
12. Articles undergo the following stages: spelling and plagiarism check, peer review, language check, editing, proofreading, and publication.
13. The study should follow a clear and straightforward narrative approach. Unnecessary information that goes beyond the scope and purpose of the study should not be included.
14. In preparing the article, valid scientific methods should be followed; information such as the subject, purpose, scope, and rationale for the study should be provided in sufficient detail and in a specific order.
15. All references in the study should be provided in accordance with APA 7 using Zotero. References that do not comply with this rule will not be accepted and will be returned to the author (with a request for correction).
16. Manuscripts that do not comply with the above rules or the instructions in the template will be returned directly to the author (with a request for revision) at the beginning of the writing review process.

Actions Contrary to Scientific Research and Publication Ethics
a) Plagiarism: Presenting the ideas, methods, data, applications, writings, figures, or works of others as one's own, in whole or in part, without proper scientific attribution to the original authors.
b) Fabrication: Producing data that is not based on research, editing or altering a submitted or published work based on false data, reporting or publishing such data, presenting research that has not been conducted as if it had been conducted,
c) Distortion: Tampering with research records and obtained data, presenting methods, devices, and materials not used in the research as if they had been used, excluding data that does not fit the research hypothesis from evaluation, manipulating data and/or results to fit relevant theories or assumptions, distorting or shaping research results in line with the interests of the individuals and organizations providing support,
ç) Duplicate publication: Presenting multiple works containing the same results of a research as separate works in associate professorship examination evaluations and academic promotions,
d) Salami slicing: Presenting the results of a study as separate works in associate professorship examination evaluations and academic promotions by dividing them into parts in an inappropriate manner that disrupts the integrity of the study and publishing them in numerous publications without cross-referencing each other,
e) Unfair authorship: Including individuals who have not made an active contribution among the authors, not including individuals who have made an active contribution among the authors, changing the order of authors without justification and in an inappropriate manner, removing the names of those who have made an active contribution from the work during publication or in subsequent editions, including one's name among the authors by using one's influence despite not having made an active contribution,
Other types of ethical violations include:
a) Failing to acknowledge the individuals, institutions, or organisations that provided support for research conducted with such support, or failing to acknowledge their contributions in publications resulting from such research,
b) Using theses or studies that have not yet been submitted or defended and accepted as a source without the permission of the owner,
c) Sharing information contained in a work assigned for review with others prior to publication without the express permission of the author,
ç) Using resources, premises, facilities, and equipment provided or allocated for scientific research for purposes other than those intended,
d) Making unfounded, inappropriate, and deliberate allegations of ethical violations,
e) Publishing data obtained without the explicit consent of participants in surveys and attitude studies conducted as part of scientific work, or without the additional permission of the institution if the research is to be conducted at an institution,
f) Failure to comply with the obligation to inform and warn those concerned about possible harmful practices related to scientific research conducted by researchers and officials,
g) In scientific studies, failing to use data and information obtained from other persons and institutions to the extent and in the manner authorised, failing to respect the confidentiality of this information and failing to ensure its protection,
h) Making false or misleading statements regarding scientific research and publications in academic appointments and promotions,
Responsibilities of the Author
All authors must contribute significantly to the research.
All data in the article must be declared to be true and original.
All authors must ensure retraction and correction of errors.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Evaluations must be impartial.
Reviewers should not have conflicts of interest with the research, authors, and/or research funders.
Reviewers should indicate any relevant published works that have not been cited.
Manuscripts under review should be kept confidential.
Editorial Responsibilities
Editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject a manuscript.
Editors should not have a conflict of interest with the articles they accept or reject.
Only articles that contribute to the field should be accepted.
They should support the publication of corrections or retractions when errors are found.
They should keep the names of reviewers confidential and prevent plagiarism/fabrication.
The peer review process is central to the success of scientific publishing. Protecting and improving the peer review process is part of our commitment, and Turkish Academic Research Review has an obligation to assist the scientific community in all matters related to publishing ethics, especially in cases of suspected or repeated publications or plagiarism.
PUBLICATION ETHICS PRINCIPLES
Ethics Committee Approval
For all research conducted in all scientific disciplines requiring ethics committee approval, an ethics committee decision must have been obtained, and information regarding the decision must be stated in the article text. Our journal does not consider studies that do not have an ethics committee decision. In studies requiring ethics committee approval, information about the approval (committee name, date, and number) must be included in the article text. In accordance with the decisions taken by Ulakbim TR Index, Ethics Committee Approval is required for studies to be published from 2020 onwards.
Research Requiring Ethics Committee Approval
In our journal, research requiring ethics committee approval includes the following studies:
• All research conducted using qualitative or quantitative approaches involving data collection from participants through methods such as surveys, interviews, focus group studies, observation, and interview techniques,
• Retrospective studies within the framework of the Personal Data Protection Law.
For such studies to be considered for evaluation, the relevant ethics committee approvals must have been obtained and these approvals must be clearly stated in the article text.
Detecting Plagiarism
Articles submitted for publication in Turkish Academic Research Review are scanned using the Turnitin program to confirm that they have not been previously published and do not contain plagiarism. If plagiarism is detected in an article submitted to or published in our journal, our journal acts in accordance with COPE principles (Plagiarism in a submitted manuscript - Plagiarism in a published article).
Use of Artificial Intelligence
The use of artificial intelligence in studies submitted to our journal is acceptable in processes that do not affect the originality of the article, such as literature review or language control. However, the use of artificial intelligence must be carried out within the framework of ethical rules and must not be used for unethical purposes such as fabricating data or manipulation.
For studies involving the use of artificial intelligence, it is mandatory to inform our journal of this situation during the article submission stage. All responsibility regarding the use of artificial intelligence lies with the authors themselves.
Privacy Statement
All personal data submitted to our journal is protected. Data belonging to authors, reviewers, and other individuals is not shared with third parties or institutions.
Correction, Retraction, Expression of Concern
Editors may consider publishing a correction if minor errors are found in a published article that do not affect the findings, interpretations, or conclusions. Editors should consider retracting the article if major errors/violations invalidate the findings and conclusions. COPE principles are taken into account regarding corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.
Protection of Intellectual Property Rights
Our journal is responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all published articles and defending the rights of the journal and author(s) in case of possible infringements.
Conflicts of Interest
Our journal ensures that the publication process is completed independently and impartially, taking into account conflicts of interest between author(s), reviewers, and other editors.
Complaints and Appeals to Our Journal
You can email your complaints and appeals regarding content, procedures, or policies under the responsibility of our journal or our editorial board members to turkisharr@gmail.com. Complaints and appeals submitted to our journal are carefully reviewed and evaluated in accordance with COPE principles.
PUBLICATION POLICIES
General Principles
1. The Turkish Academic Research Review [TARR] is an international peer-reviewed journal published four times a year in March, June, September, and December.
2. The Turkish Academic Research Review [TARR]" publishes studies related to symposium and conference events, book reviews, and original articles in the fields of social sciences, humanities, and cultural studies (History-Culture and Arts, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Philosophy and Religious Studies, and Education) concerning humans and society.
3. Translations or simplified versions must include a copy of the original text.
4. The Editorial Board decides on the publication of book reviews.
5. Authors are responsible for the scientific and legal content of their articles. Authors are not paid royalties.
6. Articles accepted for publication will be published electronically.
7. Articles submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or be under review by another scientific publication. Papers presented at scientific conferences may be published provided that the necessary explanations are made.
8. Submitting an article to the Turkish Academic Research Review constitutes an application.
Article Evaluation Process
The peer review process for articles submitted to our journal is conducted under double-blind peer review. After review by the Editorial Board, articles are sent to two expert reviewers, and if at least two reviewers give a positive report, the article is published. If two reviewers indicate that the article is “publishable or publishable after revisions,” the article is returned to the author for the necessary revisions. After the revisions are made, the Editorial Board evaluates whether the reviewers' comments have been taken into account. The work that is decided to be published is placed in the publication queue. Reviewer reports are confidential. Authors are notified of the outcome within a reasonable timeframe. The Editorial Board is responsible for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editorial Board's decision is final. Articles published in our journal are published as open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. The full text of all published articles is immediately available to anyone via open access viewing at https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/tarr/archive. Archiving Policy
Articles published in our journal are digitally archived in LOCKSS. Our journal also allows authors to archive versions of their work on their own websites, institutional websites, and other repositories. As the journal is open access, there is no embargo period. Click here for more information.
Fee Policy
Our journal is open access; no fees are charged for the journal. No processing fees or submission fees are charged under any name for articles submitted to or accepted for publication in the journal. In accordance with our publication policies, our journal does not accept sponsorship or advertising. All expenses of our journal are covered by the publisher.
Special Issue Policy
The Editorial Board may decide to publish a special issue once a year. The publication and evaluation principles for articles to be published in the special issue are applied in the same manner as in regular issues.
