Bio
He was born in Istanbul in 1969. He attended primary and secondary schools in Vienna.
He graduated from Istanbul Imam Hatip Anatolian High School in 1993 and from Faculty of Orientalistic, Turkology at Vienna University in 2004.
He also received his master’s degree from the same department in 2004 and phd degree from Arabistic Studies in 2014.
In 2007, he graduated from the department of German teachership to teach foreigners German as a foreign language. After graduation, he worked as a teacher of Arabic, Turkish Languages and gave Islamic religious courses at various high schools in Vienna for thirteen years. Besides, he offered German courses for foreigners in language courses in Vienna.
He started to work as an assistant professor at Bartin University, Faculty of Letters in 2016.
He published articles and books about Ottoman madrasahs, Sufism, Arabistic and Turkish.
He knows Turkish, German, Arabic and English.
Demir is married and has three children.
