He received the M.Sc. in Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, Ondokuz Mayis University (OMU) in Department of Marine Biology (1990-1992) and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Aberdeen at Department of Zoology, Aberdeen Scotland, United Kingdom (1993-1996).
