International Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences (ISSN: 2149-0910) is an international, peer reviewed, multidisciplinary, bi-annual journal containing original research papers, review articles and short communications/letters in Turkish and English. It publishes from a wide variety of sources dealing with all aspects of science and engineering.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

1. Similarity Report

    • Only the iThenticate similarity detection program is accepted for manuscripts submitted to the journal.
    • The similarity rate, excluding references, must be below 20%, and the similarity rate for any single source must not exceed 7%.
    • Similarity rates are among the first elements evaluated during the pre-review process of the manuscript.
    • Authors must upload the iThenticate similarity report to the submission system.

2. Citations

    • Self-citations (citations to the authors’ own previous works) should not exceed 15% of the total number of references.

3. General Rules

    • The manuscript must be prepared only in Microsoft Word format and uploaded to the system.
    • The formatting settings defined in the journal template (font type, size, numbering of sections, etc.) must not be modified.
    • Each manuscript must include the following mandatory sections:
        o Introduction
        o Materials and Methods / Preliminaries
        o Conclusion
        o Acknowledgment
        o Conflict of Interest
        o Research and Publication Ethics Statement

4. Title and Author Information

• Main Title:
   o Font: Times New Roman, bold, 14 pt.
   o Only the first letter of the first word should be capitalized (except proper nouns).
   o The title should not exceed two lines and should not include mathematical expressions.
• Author Names:
   o Font: Times New Roman, 11 pt, bold.
   o Author names, titles, and contact details must appear only on the title page; since the journal operates under a double-blind review system, this information must not appear in the main manuscript.
   o Each author’s ORCID ID must be inserted as a hyperlinked icon.
   o Right-click on the ORCID symbol → Edit Link → paste the full ORCID URL (e.g., https://orcid.org/0000-0000-0000-0000).
• Corresponding Author:
   o Must be indicated with the label “Corresponding Author”.
• Address Information:
   o Font: Times New Roman, 9 pt.
   o Format: “Department, Faculty, Institution, City, Country; e-mail”
   o Example: Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Munzur University, Tunceli, Türkiye; e-mail@xxxx.edu.tr

5. Abstract

     • The abstract must be written in English only.
     • Font: Times New Roman, 10 pt.
     • Length: 100–160 words.
     • It must clearly present the purpose, methods, main findings, and conclusions of the study.
     • References, tables, or figures must not be cited in the abstract.
     • Avoid subjective expressions, exaggerations, and unsubstantiated claims.

6. Keywords

     • A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 keywords must be provided.
     • Font: Times New Roman, 8 pt.
     • Keywords should be separated by semicolons (;) and listed on a new line.

7. Formatting and Layout

    • Font Type: Times New Roman
    • Main Text Font Size: 11 pt
    • Line Spacing: Single (1.0)
    • Alignment: Justified
    • Paragraph Indentation: 0.6 cm
    • Section Headings:
       o Must be numbered (e.g., 1., 2.1., 2.1.1.).
       o Left-aligned, 1.15 line spacing, Times New Roman, 8 pt.
       o 12 pt spacing before and 3 pt after each heading.

8. Section Structure

     • 1. Introduction: Should include a comprehensive literature review and clearly state the objective of the study.
     • 2. Materials and Methods / Preliminaries:
        o Describe in detail the methods, algorithms, experimental setups, or mathematical models used.
        o Subsections (e.g., 2.1, 2.2) may be added as needed.
     • 3. Results and Discussion:
        o Results should be presented clearly and supported by tables and figures.
        o Avoid unnecessary details; emphasize the scientific significance of the study.
     • 4. Conclusion:
        o Summarize the main contributions of the work and provide suggestions or perspectives for future research.

9. Figures, Graphs, and Tables

     • All figures, graphs, and tables must be explicitly cited in the text.
      • Figures and Graphs:
       o Must be centered on the page and numbered as “Figure 1.”
       o Captions should be placed below the figure, Times New Roman, 10 pt, bold, with 1.15 line spacing, 0 pt before and 3 pt after.
       o Minimum resolution: 300 dpi.
       o Leave 1.15 line spacing before and after each figure.
     • Tables:
       o Table captions must be placed above the table and centered on the page.
       o Numbered as “Table 1.” in Times New Roman, 10 pt, bold, 1.15 line spacing, 3 pt before and after.
       o Table content should be 10 pt and centered.
       o Tables must be editable, not inserted as images.

10. Equations

       • All equations must be created using the Word Equation Editor (Cambria Math font).
       • Equations should be centered and right-aligned numbered.
          o Example: (2.1) → the first equation in Section 2
          o Example: (2.5) → the fifth equation in Section 2
      • Maintain 12 pt spacing before and after each equation.
      • Equations must not be inserted as images.

11. Citation and References

      • In-text citations: Follow the IEEE referencing style.
        o Single source: [1]
        o Multiple consecutive sources: [2–4]
     • Reference List:
       o Numbered according to the order of appearance in the text.
       o Formatting:
       o Line spacing: single
       o Hanging indent: 0.98 cm
       o Spacing before/after: 0 pt

12. Reference Format

      The IEEE Reference Preparation Assistant can be used to conveniently prepare or correct all references, or they can be manually formatted in accordance with the IEEE citation style, as shown below.

13. Ethical and Disclosure Statements

    • Acknowledgment: The author(s) would like to thank the reviewers and editorial board of the International Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences. (If there is project support, it should be acknowledged here with details.)
    • Conflict of Interest: The author(s) declare that there is no conflict of interest in this study. The study was written with the contributions of all authors.
    • Research and Publication Ethics Statement: The author(s) declare that they have complied with the scientific, ethical, and citation rules of the International Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences throughout all stages of the study.

14. Page Layout

     • Margins:

In the method section of the manuscripts where experimental studies on humans and animals are reported, a sentence indicating that their consent was obtained after explaining the procedures applied to the volunteers or patients that this research was conducted should be found. Author(s), should be noted the Helsinki Declaration (2013 revision), the Higher Education Council Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive (dated 29.08.2012, numbered 2012.18.946), Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, Regulation on the Working Procedures and Principles of Animal Experiments Ethics Committees of the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs (No. 28914 of 15 February 2014), Regulation on the Clinical Trials of Pharmaceuticals. The date / number of the Ethics Committee Approval should be written in the MATERIAL AND METHODS section of the article.
