Asuman Özgür Keysan, Ankara’daki Atılım Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümü'nde öğretim üyesiyim. Doktoramı Birleşik Krallık’taki Strathclyde Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi Bölümü'nde tamamladım. "Activism and Women’s NGOs in Turkey: Civil Society, Feminism and Politics (2018)" başlıklı kitabımı yayımladım. International Migration, Asian Journal of Women's Studies ve Journal of Refugee Studies gibi uluslararası dergilerde makalelerim yayımlandı ve çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası araştırma projelerinde yer aldım. Başlıca çalışma alanlarım arasında toplumsal cinsiyet politikaları, göç teorileri, sivil toplum ve toplumsal hareketler ile Türkiye siyaseti yer alıyor. Şu anda Warwick Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi'nde Misafir araştırmacı olarak yer alıyorum.

Dr. Enes TURBIC is an Assistant Professor at Trakya University. In 2012 he completed TÖMER Turkish Language school at Ankara Gazi University. He completed his university education at Trakya University in 2016. He was entitled to study in the master’s program of the same university in the History Department and graduated from this department in 2018. He graduated from Trakya University’s doctorate program in 2023 with his study on the Political life in Austro-Hungarian era of Bosnian history. He has been working at Trakya University since 2017. His main areas of study are history of 19th and 20th century of Bosnia and Herzegovina, history of Western Balkans within the scope of history of this region as well as international relations.
Beside Bosnian Language as a mother language, Enes Turbic speaks other South Slavic languages, Turkish and English fluently. Turbic also speaks German (intermediate).

My doctoral research, titled “An Ethnographic Field Study on Abdals: Culture, Identity and Social Change – The Case of Antalya,” reflects my commitment to exploring marginalized identities and cultural practices through ethnographic methods. Additionally, my master's thesis focused on women’s political participation in Antalya, exemplifying my enduring interest in gender studies and political sociology.
Throughout my academic journey, I have worked on themes such as Roma communities in contemporary Turkey, funeral and ritualistic food practices, and identity formation in the margins of society. I bring with me not only a wealth of ethnographic data and qualitative insight but also a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration.
İnsan hakları, göç ve güvenlik kapsamında yayın çalışmaları yürütmektedir. İnsan haklarıyla ilgili yayınlarda editörlük, editör yardımcılığı, hakemlik, yazı işleri müdürlüğü gibi görevlerde yer aldı. I am an independent researcher, based in Leuven, currently engaged in the fields of feminist animal studies, art-based research, and more-than-human sociology. I hold a PhD in Sociology from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (Turkey), where I served as a research assistant between 2010 and 2017.
In 2017, I was honored to receive the Şirin Tekeli Research Award, granted by Sabancı University Gender and Women's Studies Center for Excellence (SU Gender) to support my dissertation research project.
Titled “Meadow and Hut: Interspecies Gendered Encounters in the Geography of High Pastures” (2023), my dissertation explores the relationships between farm animals (particularly cows) and women farmers in the high pastures of Turkey's Black Sea Region. This study involves participant observations, interviews, ethnographic photographs, and a feminist multispecies ethnography.
1975 yılı Gölcük doğumlu Gökhan Göktürk aslen Elazığ'lıdır. Eğitim hayatına 1997 yılında Kütahya Dumlupınar Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümünde başlayan Göktürk, 2001 yılında mezun olmuştur. 2001-2004 yılları arasında aynı üniversitede "Küreselleşmenin Emperyal Boyutları: Aşırı Liberalizm" teziyle yüksek lisans eğitimini tamamlamıştır. 2006 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyoloji Bölümünde doktora eğitimine başlayan Göktürk, "1946-1980 Yılları Arasında Siyaset Sosyolojisi Açısından Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi" başlıklı teziyle Eylül 2012'de doktora eğitimini tamamlamıştır. 2013 yılında Dr. Öğr. Üyesi olarak atanan Göktürk, halen aynı bölümde Doç. Dr. olarak görevine devam etmektedir.

Halihazırda Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli Üniversitesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Anabilim Dalı'nda doktora eğitimini sürdürmektedir. Çeşitli düşünce kuruluşları bünyesinde yürütülen çalışmalara katkıda bulunan Müseyib ŞİRALİYEV’in başlıca çalışma alanları Avrupa Birliği, Kafkasya, Orta Asya ve Rusya’dır

Özgen, lisans eğitimini 2002 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü Türk Halk Bilimi Anabilim Dalı'nda “Halk Bilimi Açısından Tokat Latifoğlu Konağı” başlıklı teziyle, Yüksek lisans eğitimini, 2006 yılında aynı anabilim dalında “Tokat Kentinin Ticaret Mekanları: 19. ve 20. Yüzyılda Meydan Semti” konulu teziyle tamamlamıştır. 2016 yılında, Yeditepe Üniversitesi Antropoloji Bölümü'nde, “Tokat Zile’de Yaşayan Anşa Bacılı Beydili Sıraç Türkmenlerinin Halk Kültürü ve Halk Hayatı” üzerine yaptığı araştırmasıyla doktora derecesini almıştır. Doktora tezi, TRT İç Yapımlar tarafından Gülşan Saru'nun yönetmenliğinde hazırlanan “SIRAÇ” belgeseline senaryolaştırılmış ve bu yapım, 2017 Türk Dünyası Belgesel Film Festivali’nde Profesyonel Kategoride Üçüncülük Ödülü ve 2017 Motif Vakfı Medya Halk Bilim Ödülü'ne layık görülmüştür. Özgen, bu belgeselde danışmanlık yapmıştır. Ayrıca, TRT’nin 2021 yılında çektiği, Çepni Türkmenlerinin inanç ve ritüellerini konu edinen “İKRAR” belgeselinin de metin danışmanlığını üstlenmiştir.
Halen Kültür Bakanlığı Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü'nde el yazması uzmanı olarak görev yapan Özgen, İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi'nde yarı zamanlı öğretim üyesi olarak da görev yapmaktadır. Burada, lisans düzeyinde; "Müzecilik", "Hafıza Mekanları", “Yemek Antropolojisi”, “Kent Folkloru”, “Kültürel Miras”, “Şehir Bellek ve Mekan”, “Mekan ve Anlatı” ve “Osmanlı Şehirciliğinde Vakıflar” derslerini vermektedir. Başta Tokat olmak üzere Anadolu'nun birçok kentinde halk kültürü üzerine kapsamlı alan araştırmaları gerçekleştirmiştir. Çalışmaları, Türkmen Aleviliği başta olmak üzere, Geleneksel Türk Mutfağı, Halk İnancı Uygulamaları, Konut Mimarisi, Halk Mimarisi, Sözlü Tarih, Kent Folkloru ve Kültür Tarihi gibi alanlarda yoğunlaşmıştır. Bu konularda ulusal ve uluslararası dergilerde yayınlanmış çok sayıda makalesi ve kitap bölümleri bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca, çeşitli akademik konferanslarda sunduğu bildirilerle alana önemli katkılar sağlayan Özgen, İngilizce ve Osmanlıca Bilmektedir.
Ankara’da doğan Öztürk Aykaç, lisans derecesini Ortadoğu Teknik Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümü’nden 2008 yılında almıştır. Yüksek lisansını Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi’nde hazırlamış olduğu “Bir Beden Sosyolojisi Problemi Olarak Namus Kavramı ve Kadın Bedeni” (2012) konulu tezle tamamlamıştır. Doktora eğitimini Selçuk Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümü’nde 2018 yılında tamamlayan Öztürk Aykaç, “Toplumsal Bir Tip Olarak Ankaralı” isimli doktora tezinin sahibidir. 2009 yılında Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümü’nde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak göreve başlamış olup 2019 yılından beri aynı bölümde Doktor Öğretim Üyesi olarak akademik çalışmalarını sürdürmektedir. 2025 yılında Sosyoloji alanında doçentliğini almıştır. Uzmanlık ve çalışma alanları arasında kent sosyolojisi, kültür sosyolojisi, beden sosyolojisi, medya ve iletişim çalışmaları, nitel araştırma metodolojisi vb. öne çıkmaktadır.

İmgelem Journal is an international peer-reviewed academic journal published twice a year (July-December) by the BILGITOY Association. (Article submission dates: For the July issue, January 1st - May 30th; For the December issue, August 1st - October 31st). Article submissions outside of these dates will not be accepted. Submissions arriving after the deadline should apply for the next issue within the valid dates. The deadline restrictions regarding article acceptance dates do not include special issue publications. The submission schedule and deadlines for special issues will be announced separately. İmgelem Journal includes original scientific publications. All published articles, except for editorial works, are subjected to double-blind peer review process.
Aim and Scope
The aim of the journal is to contribute to science by publishing high-quality studies of scientific significance. Written from a sociological perspective, original research articles, reviews, theoretical articles, conference (bilgitoy) evaluations, and book reviews are published from all fields of social sciences; if this condition is not met, only original research articles written in the fields of Sociology, Political Science, and International Relations are accepted. İmgelem Journal is an academic publication aiming to conduct scientific and academic publishing within defined boundaries, being independent, double-blind peer-reviewed, open access, and online. Articles submitted for publication must contain original data that has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere for publication. Except for research outputs produced by a group, submitted articles can have a maximum of three authors. Manuscripts deemed suitable according to İmgelem submission rules and journal scope are sent to at least two expert reviewers for scientific evaluation. The İmgelem Editorial Board members deliberating on suitability then consider the reviewers' comments for each submission. The final decision for all submitted manuscripts rests with the Chief Editor. The Publication Board of İmgelem Journal commits to adhering to the criteria the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Article Submissions
Submitted articles must conform to the aim and scope of the journal. Original, unpublished, and not under consideration for review elsewhere, each article approved by all authors for content and submission will be considered for evaluation.
Target Audience
The target audience includes professionals, experts, academics, researchers, as well as undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students interested in all fields of Social Sciences. It aims to contribute to the widespread adoption of continuous professional development and research culture.
Originality of Articles
İmgelem does not accept previously published works elsewhere. However, occasionally, articles published in another language may be considered for review if they have been revised and improved. İmgelem Journal does not publish translated articles.
Author Guidelines
Article Preparation
Language: Turkish, English, Uzbek, and Russian
Types of Articles: Research articles, Reviews, Theoretical articles, Congress (bilgitoy) reviews and Book reviews.
Article Format:
1. Font: Times New Roman 12-point font style should be used for the text. Line spacing should be set to 1.5 lines with paragraph spacing options set to 6 points before and after paragraphs.
2. Paragraph Format: Paragraphs should be justified. The first paragraph under each heading should be left-aligned without indentation. However, the first line of subsequent paragraphs under the same heading should have a 1.25 indentation.
3. Word Limit: Articles should not exceed 10,000 words, including all notes and references.
4. Headings: The title of the article should not exceed 16 words, each word should be capitalized, written in black (bold) and 16-point font and centered. The English title should be written in black (bold) with the initial letter of each word capitalized, but in 10-point font and centered. Subheadings, excluding INTRODUCTION, CONCLUSION, and REFERENCES, should have only the first letter capitalized, with the rest in lowercase, written in black (bold) and 12-point font size. Additionally, no heading should be numbered using digits.
5. Abstract: The Abstract and Özet should be prepared using 10-point font size, single line spacing, and Times New Roman font. The Özet should have between 100-250 words, should not contain citations, and should be in a single paragraph.
6. Extended Abstract: Authors are required to include an extended English abstract, which should consist of at least 1000 words, equivalent to 10% of the length of the Turkish article. This text should be located below the "CONCLUSION" and above the "REFERENCES".
7. Keywords: Should consist of 5-8 words. Keywords should be provided with each word capitalized. A full stop should be placed after the last keyword.
8. Tables-Figures: The text and numbers within tables should be set in Times New Roman font size 10. The title of tables, figures, and graphs should be provided above the table, and the source should be given below the table. The title should be in bold format (Table: 1. Figure: 1. Diagram: 1.).
9. Quotations: When providing block quotations within the text, they should be written in 11-point font size, with 1.15 line spacing, justified, and with a 1.25-inch indentation from both the left and right sides. Quotations should begin and end with quotation marks, and punctuation should be placed after the closing quotation mark.
10. Footnotes: In-text citation style is preferred over the use of footnotes and endnotes. Therefore, footnotes should be used sparingly. Footnotes can be used only when absolutely necessary for explanatory notes, in 10-point font size, using Times New Roman font, indicated with an asterisk or number.
11. Author Name(s) and Affiliation(s): The author's name should be aligned to the right below the title of the article. The surname of the author should be written in capital letters. The author's title, affiliation, email address, and ORCID number should be provided in the footnote. The initial submission file should not contain any author identification or any information that would disclose the identity of the author(s). Authors should add their identification details in the revised version after the evaluation process is completed.

Authorship Change: Authorship changes are only processed before acceptance of the article. Authors should carefully review and confirm the list and order of authors before submitting their articles, providing the final author list during the original submission.
Ethics Committee Permission
In our journal, all studies that require ethics committee approval must be approved by the relevant committee. Surveys, experiments, observations, clinical and animal studies and research involving personal data are subject to ethics committee approval. This permission must be clearly stated in the text of the article. Studies without ethical approval are not evaluated. Scientific research on humans and animals must be conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and ARRIVE guidelines and approval must be obtained from the relevant ethics committee. Studies without ethics committee approval are not evaluated in our journal.
Conflict of Interest and Contribution Rate Statement
For multi-authored manuscripts, the contribution rate and conflict of interest declarations of the authors should be submitted to our journal at the manuscript submission stage.
Financial Support
Authors should clearly declare the financial support provided by any organization within the scope of their work in the text of the article.

Article Submission
In submissions, the account of the corresponding author must be used. All correspondence regarding the submission is sent to the responsible author via email through the journal system.
When uploading the article file, make sure that it does not contain any elements that would disclose the author's identity or institutional information due to the double-blind peer review process.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
ETHICAL PRINCIPLES
İmgelem Journal adheres to national and international standards of research and publication ethics. Our journal has adopted the International Ethical Publishing Principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
Actions Contrary to Scientific Research and Publication Ethics
• Plagiarism: Representing the original ideas, methods, data or works of others as one's own work in whole or in part without citation in accordance with scientific rules,
• Forgery: Using non-existent or falsified data in scientific research,
• Distortion: Falsifying research records or data, falsifying devices or materials that were not used in the research, falsifying or shaping the results of the research in line with the interests of the persons and organizations receiving support,
• Republishing: Presenting duplicate publications as separate publications for academic appointments and promotions,
• Slicing: Inappropriately and inappropriately dividing the results of a research into parts in a way that disrupts the integrity of the research and publishing them in more than one issue and presenting these publications as separate publications in academic appointments and promotions,
• Unfair authorship: Including or excluding people who have not made active contributions, changing the order of authors in an unjustified and inappropriate manner, removing the names of active contributors from the work in subsequent editions, using one's influence to have one's name included among the authors even though one has not made active contributions,
Relations with Journal Owner and Publisher
The relationship between the editor and the publisher is based on the principle of editorial independence. As per the written contract between the editor and the publisher, all decisions of the editor are independent from the publisher and the journal owner.
Ethics Committee Permission
In our journal, all studies that require ethics committee approval must be approved by the relevant committee. Surveys, experiments, observations, clinical and animal studies and research involving personal data are subject to ethics committee approval. This permission must be clearly stated in the text of the article. Studies without ethical approval are not evaluated. Scientific research on humans and animals must be conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and ARRIVE guidelines and approval must be obtained from the relevant ethics committee. Studies without ethics committee approval are not evaluated in our journal.
Research Requiring Ethics Committee Approval
In our journal, researches that require ethics committee permission include the following studies:
• All research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that involve collecting data from participants through methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, experiments and interview techniques,
• Studies in which humans and animals (including materials or data) are used for experimental or other scientific purposes,
• Clinical trials conducted on humans,
• Scientific research on animals,
• Retrospective studies within the framework of the Personal Data Protection Law.
In order for such studies to be included in the evaluation, the relevant ethics committee permissions must be obtained and these permissions must be clearly stated in the text of the article.
Plagiarism Check
Our journal scans all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism with Turnitin & iThenticate software. The similarity rate is expected to be below 20%. However, the main criterion is compliance with citation and citation rules; in cases of non-compliance, plagiarism may occur even at low rates. In this respect, citation and citation rules should be known and carefully applied by the author. If plagiarism is detected in an article submitted to or published in our journal, our journal will act in accordance with the COPE principles (Plagiarism in a submitted manuscript - Plagiarism in a published article).
Protection of Personal Information
All personal data sent to our journal are protected in accordance with legal regulations and ethical rules.
Protection of Intellectual Property Rights
Our journal is obliged to protect the intellectual property rights of all published articles and to defend the rights of the journal and the author(s) in possible violations.
Correction, Retraction, Expression of Concern
Editors may consider publishing a correction if minor errors are identified in the published article that do not affect the findings, interpretations and conclusions. In the case of major errors/violations that invalidate findings and conclusions, editors should consider retracting the article. COPE guidelines regarding correction, withdrawal or expression of concern are taken into account.
Complaints
If readers notice a significant error or inaccuracy in an article published in İmgelem Journal or have any complaints about the editorial content (plagiarism, duplicate articles, etc.), they can send an e-mail to imgelem@bilgitoy.org. Our journal follows the procedure outlined in the COPE flowcharts for complaints.
Conflicts of Interest
The Journal of Imagination requires early disclosure of conflicts of interest. Authors should indicate financial support and sponsors; if not, this should also be reported. Editorial and editorial board members' own manuscripts are referred to other journals for impartiality or their duties are suspended and reviewed in a double-blind process.
Principles of Research Ethics
• Integrity, quality and transparency must be ensured.
• Participants should be informed about the purpose, method, possible uses and risks of the research.
• Participant confidentiality and autonomy must be protected.
• Participation should be voluntary and not forced.
• Participants must not be harmed or put at risk.
• Research independence and conflicts of interest must be clearly stated.
• Written informed consent must be obtained in studies conducted with human subjects; guardian approval must be obtained in cases where the child and legal representative are required.

General Principles
• İmgelem Journal is an international refereed academic journal published twice a year (July-December) by the BİLGİTOY Association.
• The aim of the journal is to contribute to science by publishing high quality studies of scientific importance. The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, theoretical articles, congress (bilgitoy) reviews and book reviews from all fields of social sciences, provided that they are written from a sociological perspective; if this condition is not fulfilled, only in the fields of Sociology, Political Science and International Relations. The publication languages of the journal are Turkish, English, Uzbek and Russian.
• The readership of our journal; Professionals, experts, academicians, researchers, specialists, master's and doctoral students, as well as undergraduate students in all fields of Social Sciences.
• Original, unpublished manuscripts that are not in the process of evaluation in another journal and whose content and submission have been approved by each author are accepted for evaluation. Article acceptance dates: For the July issue, January 1 - May 30; for the December issue, August 1 - October 31. Manuscript submissions are not accepted outside these dates. Late submissions should apply for the next issue on the current dates. The date restrictions regarding article acceptance dates do not include special issue publications. The article submission schedule and deadlines for special issues will be announced separately.

Article Evaluation Process
Manuscripts submitted to our journal are evaluated within the scope of a double-blind refereeing system. All submissions are first scanned for plagiarism using Turnitin and iThenticate software; the similarity rate is expected to be below 20%.
The manuscripts that successfully pass the Preliminary Review and Plagiarism Scanning stage are reviewed by the relevant field editor. After the editor's approval, the manuscript is forwarded to at least two field expert referees. If one of the referees gives a negative opinion, the manuscript is sent to a third referee. In order for an article to be published, at least two referees must submit a positive report.
In the double-blind review process, author and referee identity information is kept confidential and all evaluation procedures are carried out in accordance with the principle of confidentiality. If revisions are requested by the referees, the evaluation reports are forwarded to the author and necessary corrections are requested. The revised text is reviewed first by the field editor and then by the relevant referee(s).
The manuscripts that successfully pass the referee process are checked by language editors for language and spelling. If deemed necessary, language corrections are requested from the author; the corrections made are reviewed again by the language editors.
The typesetting and layout processes of the articles that are decided to be published are completed and made ready for publication. At the end of the process, the article is published in the journal. Click here for detailed information.
Special Issue Publication Policy

Artificial Intelligence Policy
Our journal aims to use artificial intelligence in academic writing in accordance with ethical and scientific standards. AI can only be used for grammar, spelling and style corrections; it is not used in the evaluation process.
Considerations:
Transparency: It should be clearly stated at what stage and how AI is used; the author's statement is included on the cover of the manuscript.
Accuracy: AI outputs should be checked against sources.
Responsibility: All responsibility arising from artificial intelligence belongs to the author.
Impartiality: Conflicts of interest should be declared; impartiality should be maintained.
Confidentiality: Personal data security should be ensured.
Citation of References: Artificial intelligence is not cited in footnotes and bibliography; it is mentioned in the ethical statement.
Review Process
🔹 Peer Review Type: Double-Blind
• All manuscripts are first screened through iThenticate plagiarism detection software.
• Suitable submissions are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief in terms of originality, methodology, significance of the topic, and alignment with the journal’s scope.
• Manuscripts that meet the formal requirements are sent to:
o Domestic reviewers if the manuscript is in Turkish,
o Domestic and/or international reviewers if the manuscript is in English.
• At least two reviewers are assigned.
• If revisions are requested, authors are expected to revise the manuscript accordingly before publication approval is granted.
🔹 Pre-Publication Review Process
• Author–Reviewer Interaction: All communication takes place through the editors.
• Time to First Decision: Approximately 2 weeks.
• Acceptance Rate: Only 15–20% of submitted manuscripts are accepted. About two-thirds are rejected during the preliminary review before peer evaluation.
• Number of Reviewers: Usually 2–3, occasionally 5.
• Time Allowed for Reviewers: 20 days (+10-day extension if needed).
• Decision Criteria: At least two positive reviewer reports are required. If one reviewer accepts and another rejects, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer.
🔹 Editorial Procedure
• The Editor-in-Chief reviews submissions within the first 3 days.
• If the manuscript is deemed worthy of further review, it is assigned to an associate editor.
• Target time for initial decision: 1–2 weeks.
• Manuscripts rejected at this stage receive an early notification so authors can resubmit elsewhere without delay.
• Common reasons for rejection:
o Lack of originality,
o Outside the journal’s scope.
🔹 Editorial Board Review
• Board members evaluate manuscripts in terms of importance, originality, and scientific quality.
• For research papers, decisions focus particularly on the research question.
• Even if a manuscript is relevant and timely, it may be rejected if no research question is present.
• All participants must declare any conflicts of interest.
• Those with significant conflicts may either leave the room or speak last during the discussion, depending on the nature of the conflict.
🔹 Peer Review Procedure
• If deemed suitable, manuscripts are sent to two external reviewers by the section editor.
• Reviewers are asked to:
o Confirm their reports,
o Declare any conflicts of interest.
• The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief after receiving external reviewers’ recommendations.
• In cases of suspected serious research misconduct, the manuscript may also be reviewed by the Ethics Editor and independent experts.
🔹 Decision and Publication
• Final decision timeframe: 4–12 weeks after submission.
• If revisions are required, authors are generally expected to submit their revised version within 1 month.
• Accepted manuscripts are:
o Published online as early access,
o Later included in the relevant issue.
🔹 Open Access Policy
• İmgelem Journal provides free and open online access to all published articles.
🔹 Corrections
• If you notice an error in your published article, you may contact the Editor-in-Chief via email.
• The Editor-in-Chief will decide whether a correction will be issued.
Price Policy
Authors submitting articles to Imgelem Journal are charged a fee after submitting the article, regardless of acceptance/rejection. A participation fee will be requested to contribute to expenses such as digital printing, typesetting, introduction to international indexes, and layout software, among others, for the initiation of the main evaluation process following the initial evaluation by the Editorial Board. This fee is requested in accordance with the Associate Professorship Criteria of the Interuniversity Council (ÜAK) during the "Article submission process - regardless of acceptance/rejection.
International Authors (authors outside of universities connected to Turkey and YÖK) do not pay publication fees for their works published in IMGELEM.

Doç. Dr. Musa Yavuz ALPTEKİN;
1976 yılında doğdu. Ailesi aslen Trabzon/Çaykara ilçesi, Karaçam (Yukarı Ögene) Köyündendir. İlköğretim ve lise düzeyi eğitimini Bayburt’ta, Üniversite eğitimini ise İstanbul’da ve İstanbul Üniversitesi’nde aldı. Aynı üniversitenin Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde Sosyal Yapı-Sosyal Değişme Anabilim Dalı’nda Yüksek Lisans (2000) ve Sosyoloji Anabilim Dalında Doktora (2006) çalışmasını tamamladı.
2006 yılında Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi, İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi’nde Sosyoloji dersleri vermeye başladı. Dört yıl sonra aynı Üniversitenin Edebiyat Fakültesi, Sosyoloji Bölümüne geçiş yaptı. Tam bu aşamada Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu’nun Doktora Sonrası Yurtdışı Araştırma Bursuyla, Colorado Üniversitesi, Etnik Çalışmalar Bölümü’nde misafir araştırmacı olarak, Amerika’nın etnik bileşimi, göçmenlik ve entegrasyon konularında araştırma yapmak üzere ABD’ye gitti ve Denver’daki Ahıska Türklerini de içeren yedi aylık bir teorik ve saha çalışması yürüttü. 2010 yılı sonunda Türkiye'ye dönüşünde Sosyoloji bölüm başkanlığına atandı ve bu tarihten sonraki dört buçuk yıl boyunca (Şubat 2016) Bölümün akademik kadrosunun oluşturulması, Lisans ve Yüksek Lisans öğrenci alımı dosyalarının YÖK onayından geçirilmesi gibi temel kuruluş süreçlerini yürüttü.
2013 yılı Temmuz-Eylül döneminde Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi’nin temin ettiği altı (6) aylık yurt dışı araştırma bursuyla ve eğitimi aksatmamak gerekçesiyle yaz tatilinde üç aylığına, misafir araştırmacı olarak Malezya’nın başkenti Kuala Lumpur’da bulunan Uluslararası İslam Üniversitesi, Sosyoloji Bölümü’nde teorik ve etnografik bir çalışma yürüttü. Bu süre zarfında Ulus-Devlet ve Etnik farklılıklar arasındaki gerilimi ve muhtemel çözüm yollarını Malezya üzerinde teorik, etnografik ve pratik olarak inceleme imkânı buldu. Söz konusu çalışmasını Türkiye’de Malezya hakkında yazılmış ilk Türkçe kitap olarak KTÜ Yayınevinde bastırdı.
2017 yılında 4 Mart- 31 Temmuz tarihleri arasında TÜBİTAK Doktora Sonrası Yurtdışı Araştırma Bursuyla beş ay İngiltere'de, Birmingham Üniversitesinde konusunun dünyadaki sayılı uzmanlarından, Uluslararası İlişkiler bölümü öğretim üyesi ve Siyaset Bilimci Prof. Dr. Stefan Wolff'un davetiyle bu üniversiteye gitti ve Prof. Wolff’un gözetiminde "Türkiye'de ve Ortadoğu'da Kürtler" konusu üzerine teorik bir çalışma yaptı.
2021 yılı Ekim ayında yine TÜBİTAK’ın yurtdışı doktora sonrası araştırma bursuyla 8 aylığına (kalan süreyi kendisi tazmin ederek toplamda bir yıl kalmıştır) Duisburg-Essen Üniversitesi’ne bağlı bir kurum olan Türkiye Araştırmaları Merkezi müdürü Prof. Dr. Hacı Halil Uslucan’ın davetiyle Almanya’ya gitti. Prof. Uslucan’ın danışmanlığında verilerini Duisburg ve Essen’deki 52 Türk derneği yöneticisi, üyesi ve gönüllüsü 300 kişiden topladığı “Almanya’da Türk Diasporasının Oluşumu” başlıklı nicel ve nitel bir diaspora çalışması yürüttü.
6 Ağustos 2023 tarihinde maaşsız bir araştırma görevlendirmesiyle sosyal yapı, kültür, folklor ve etnografi çalışmaları yapmak üzere Özbekistan’ın başkenti Taşkent’e gitti. Buradaki çalışmaları devam etmektedir.
Sosyolojinin Kent Sosyolojisi, İktisat Sosyolojisi, Siyaset Sosyolojisi ve Etnik Sosyoloji alt bilim dallarına odaklanan yazarın, doktora tezinden müteşekkil Şehir ve Toplum isimli kitabının yanı sıra içerisinde Malezya monografisi ve Trabzon'da Müteahhitlik mesleğini incelediği meslek monografisi ve Trabzon’da Vatanseverlik kavramını incelediği jeo-politik monografi çalışmalarının bulunduğu beş telif eseri ve 17 tane de editörlüğünü yaptığı edisyon kitap çalışması mevcuttur. Alptekin aynı zamanda HABİTUS Toplumbilim Dergisi’nin yanı sıra TR Dizinli İMGELEM Dergisi’nin de editörlüğünü, bu dergileri yayımlayan çatı kurum olan BİLGİTOY Derneği’nin de kurucu başkanlığını yürütmektedir. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslar arası dergilerde basılmış daha çok Küresel şehirleşme trendleri, Kentsel Dönüşüm, Kapitalizm, Ortadoğu’nun etnik yapısı, Avrupa Birliği’nde toplumsal bütünleşme süreci, milliyetçilik, ulus inşası, göç, diaspora, ulus devlet ve etnik farklılıklar bağlamında 70 kadar İngilizce ve Türkçe makale, kitap bölümü ve tebliği bulunmaktadır. Hala KTÜ, Sosyoloji Bölümü’nde akademik faaliyetine devam etmekte ve Siyaset Sosyolojisi odaklı lisans ve yüksek lisans dersleri vermektedir.

2008 yılında Kırıkkale Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümünden mezun olan Yasemin Gezer Tuğrul, 2013 yılında yüksek lisansını ve 2023 yılında “Erken Yaşta Evlendirilen Erkeklerin Evlilik Deneyimleri: Van İli Örneği” başlıklı tezi ile doktorasını tamamlamıştır. Akademik çalışma alanları arasında; aile sosyolojisi, çocukluk sosyolojisi, yaşlılık sosyolojisi toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği, kadına yönelik şiddet, erken yaşta evlilikler, kadın araştırmaları gibi konular yer almaktadır. Birçok ulusal ve uluslararası kongrede bildiri sunmuş, çeşitli dergilerde makaleler yayımlamış ve kitap bölümü yazmıştır. 2024 yılında "Erken Yaşta Evliliklerin Erkek Yüzü" başlığıyla kitabı yayımlanmıştır. 2014 yılından bu yana Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümünde öğretim görevlisi doktor olarak görev yapmaktadır.

He has taught sociology of education, pedagogical research and teaching at the Aristotle University, the University of Macedonia, as a Teaching Staff at the Hellenic Open University and as a visiting professor in the Departments of Political Science at the Universities of Beihang in Beijing, Cairo in Egypt and Cadi Ayyad in Marrakesh. Since October 2017 he has been serving at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a Special Teaching Staff.
His areas of research interest are: Educational Research, Sociology of Education and Political Sociology.
He has published 78 articles in journals. His published work deals with issues of sociology of education, political sociology and pedagogy.

Doktorasını 2014 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi'nde “Bir Çatışma Yönetimi Metodu Olarak Ortaklıkçılık: 1960 Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti Örneği” başlıklı tez çalışmasıyla tamamlamıştır.
Dr.Erkem, doktora çalışması sırasında 2012-2013'te Kanada Queen's Üniversitesi'nde misafir araştırmacı olarak bulunmuştur. Dr.Erkem Uluslararası İlişkiler, siyaset bilimi, milliyetçilik, çatışma yönetimi ve küreselleşme üzerine dersler veriyor. Araştırma alanları arasında milliyetçilik, çatışma yönetimi, çokkültürlülük, AB-Türkiye ilişkileri ve sanat ve siyaset bulunmaktadır.

Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi’nde Kent, Mekan ve Duygulanımsal Atmosfer: Samsun’da Bir Sahil Parkının Etnografisi başlığıyla doktora çalışmasını tamamladı. 2016 yılından beri Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümü’nde araştırma görevlisi olarak çalışmaktadır. Aynı zamanda Türkiye’de kadına yönelik şiddet, aile konulu çeşitli araştırmalarda yer almaktadır.

1975 yılı Gölcük doğumlu Gökhan Göktürk aslen Elazığ'lıdır. Eğitim hayatına 1997 yılında Kütahya Dumlupınar Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümünde başlayan Göktürk, 2001 yılında mezun olmuştur. 2001-2004 yılları arasında aynı üniversitede "Küreselleşmenin Emperyal Boyutları: Aşırı Liberalizm" teziyle yüksek lisans eğitimini tamamlamıştır. 2006 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyoloji Bölümünde doktora eğitimine başlayan Göktürk, "1946-1980 Yılları Arasında Siyaset Sosyolojisi Açısından Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi" başlıklı teziyle Eylül 2012'de doktora eğitimini tamamlamıştır. 2013 yılında Dr. Öğr. Üyesi olarak atanan Göktürk, halen aynı bölümde Doç. Dr. olarak görevine devam etmektedir.

Dr. Orkhan Valiyev is a distinguished scholar in Political Science and Philosophy, specializing in national studies, political philosophy, and political epistemology. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Sakarya University, where he was awarded a Turkish Scholarship. His dissertation, titled Nation-building Process in Azerbaijan during the Tsarist Period: 1850-1920, was published in Turkish in 2020 and 2023. Dr. Valiyev earned his BA in Philosophy from Baku State University and his MA in Political Science from the Academy of Public Administration in Azerbaijan.
As part of his academic journey, Dr. Valiyev was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from the Turkish Scholarship Program, which he completed at Trakya University in 2021. He was also a visiting researcher at Sakarya University’s Center for Diaspora Studies in the summer of 2022.
Dr. Valiyev holds several prestigious academic roles, including Associate Fellow at the Center for Strategic Research and Analysis (CESRAN), Assistant Editor for the Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (indexed in the Web of Science), and Associate Editor at the Rest: Journal of Politics and Development. He is also a member of the scientific committee for the Republican Scientific Conference of PhD Students and Young Researchers.
His research interests primarily focus on the South Caucasus and the Turkic World, where he has made significant contributions through over 30 publications, including articles in indexed journals, op-eds, and book chapters in Azerbaijani, Turkish, and English. Dr. Valiyev is also the author of the textbook Introduction to Azerbaijani National Studies.
Halil ÇAKIR is an assistant professor at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University. He lectures at Reyhanlı Vocational School for Social Sciences on social work, social security and social structure. His PhD thesis was on “Comparison of Blue-Collar and White-Collar Retirement in the Context of the Sociology of Generations”(2021). His major fields of research are the sociology of generations, aging, social stratification, and the social philosophy of Max Weber and Karl Mannheim. Prof. Dr. Fahri ÇAKI, 1966, İstanbul doğumlu olup aslen Karslıdır. I am Reader in Applied Linguistics at Newcastle University, UK and Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy. I have expertise on technology enhanced language learning and teaching, particularly on the communicative and pedagogical aspects of multimodal and intercultural interaction in online settings, focusing on social presence, meaning-making, instruction-giving, and task design. Through the lens of the theory of social presence and using mixed methods as well as social semiotics and multimodal (inter)action analysis, my work aims to understand how people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds and from different communities establish interpersonal relationships and improve their digital, linguistic, and intercultural communication skills. I am particularly interested in contributing to social and intercultural connectedness through fostering interpersonal relationships and participation in physical and online communities.
I was Principal Investigator of the Communities, Languages, and Activities App (ENACT) project https://enacteuropa.com (2019-2022) co-funded by the European Union. The main aim of the project was to foster intercultural and intergenerational social cohesion and understanding between migrant and host community members through two-way knowledge exchange facilitated by digital tools. We worked with several organisations supporting migrant communities including the Newcastle City of Sanctuary, Action Foundation, and the North East Solidarity Teaching (NEST). We are currently organising impact events for schools and communities at the University and at the Great North Museum (Newcastle Upon Tyne) in collaboration with Tyne and Wear museums.

Early Life and Education:
Vladimir Sterpu was born on May 23, 1987, in Moldova. He pursued his early education at the Theoretical Lyceum "Spiru Haret" in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, where he developed a solid foundation in primary and secondary education. Vladimir later attended the Military College "Stefan cel Mare" in Campulung Moldovenesc, Romania, where he acquired discipline, self-confidence, and team-working skills, which would serve as the cornerstone of his future professional endeavors.
In 2006, Vladimir began his higher education journey at the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Here, he specialized in Jurisprudence and earned the title of Jurist in Jurisprudence and Lieutenant of Police. His education at this institution equipped him with a robust understanding of crime prevention, particularly through the study of foreign expertise in crime prevention and its application within law enforcement agencies.
Academic Pursuits and Research:
Vladimir's academic career continued to flourish as he pursued a Master's degree in Anglophone Studies, specializing in Translation and Applied Linguistics, at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Moldova State University. His master's thesis focused on the complex criminal terminology in English and Romanian, based on Interpol's activity reports.

Vladimir Sterpu has held several key positions throughout his career. Since July 2011, he has served as a Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Legal, Political, and Sociological Research, Center for Political Research and International Relations in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. His role involves processing and analyzing scientific results, publishing findings, and presenting ongoing work at academic conferences.
In November 2011, Vladimir took on the role of Investigative Officer at the Police Commissariat of Ciocana District in Chisinau. His responsibilities included crime investigation, patrolling, and maintaining public order, where he utilized his extensive training and knowledge in criminal law.

Çok sayıda kitap bölümü ve makalesi yayımlandı, çok sayıda sunum ve konuşma yaptı. İki akademik derginin yayın kurulunda yer almaktadır. Aynı zamanda küresel paradiplomasi ağının da bir üyesidir.
Avrupa Birliği araştırmalarına uzun süredir devam eden ilgisinin yanı sıra, son dönemdeki çalışmaları toplumsal cinsiyet, paradiplomasi ve iklim değişikliği konularına odaklanıyor.
Özlem Karadağ, 1983 yılında İstanbul'da doğmuştur. İstanbul Üniversitesi İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı Anabilim Dalından aldığı Lisans (2005), Yüksek Lisans (2008) ve Doktora (2013) derecelerinin ardından Tübitak Doktora Sonrası Araştırma Desteği ile daha önce BAP tarafından desteklenerek doktora araştırmasını (2012) da yürüttüğü Queen Mary University of London, Department of Drama'da Post-doktora yapmıştır (2015). 2006'da Araştırma Görevlisi olarak çalışmaya başladığı İ.Ü. İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı Anabilim Dalı'nda 2015'ten itibaren Yardımcı Doçent olarak (2018'den itibaren Dr. Öğr. Üyesi olarak) çalışmaya devam etmektedir, Ağustos 2022'de Doçent unvanı almaya hak kazanmıştır. Sanat ve Tiyatro dersleri almış olmasının yanı sıra 2008 yılından beri çeşitli bağımsız tiyatrolarda gönüllü olarak çevirmen ve dramaturg olarak görev almıştır.

1976 yılında doğdu. Ailesi aslen Trabzon/Çaykara ilçesi, Karaçam (Yukarı Ögene) Köyündendir. İlköğretim ve lise düzeyi eğitimini Bayburt’ta, Üniversite eğitimini ise İstanbul’da ve İstanbul Üniversitesi’nde aldı. Aynı üniversitenin Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde Sosyal Yapı-Sosyal Değişme Anabilim Dalı’nda Yüksek Lisans (2000) ve Sosyoloji Anabilim Dalında Doktora (2006) çalışmasını tamamladı.
2006 yılında Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi, İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi’nde Sosyoloji dersleri vermeye başladı. Dört yıl sonra aynı Üniversitenin Edebiyat Fakültesi, Sosyoloji Bölümüne geçiş yaptı. Tam bu aşamada Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu’nun Doktora Sonrası Yurtdışı Araştırma Bursuyla, Colorado Üniversitesi, Etnik Çalışmalar Bölümü’nde misafir araştırmacı olarak, Amerika’nın etnik bileşimi, göçmenlik ve entegrasyon konularında araştırma yapmak üzere ABD’ye gitti ve Denver’daki Ahıska Türklerini de içeren yedi aylık bir teorik ve saha çalışması yürüttü. 2010 yılı sonunda Türkiye'ye dönüşünde Sosyoloji bölüm başkanlığına atandı ve bu tarihten sonraki dört buçuk yıl boyunca (Şubat 2016) Bölümün akademik kadrosunun oluşturulması, Lisans ve Yüksek Lisans öğrenci alımı dosyalarının YÖK onayından geçirilmesi gibi temel kuruluş süreçlerini yürüttü.
2013 yılı Temmuz-Eylül döneminde Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi’nin temin ettiği altı (6) aylık yurt dışı araştırma bursuyla ve eğitimi aksatmamak gerekçesiyle yaz tatilinde üç aylığına, misafir araştırmacı olarak Malezya’nın başkenti Kuala Lumpur’da bulunan Uluslararası İslam Üniversitesi, Sosyoloji Bölümü’nde teorik ve etnografik bir çalışma yürüttü. Bu süre zarfında Ulus-Devlet ve Etnik farklılıklar arasındaki gerilimi ve muhtemel çözüm yollarını Malezya üzerinde teorik, etnografik ve pratik olarak inceleme imkânı buldu. Söz konusu çalışmasını Türkiye’de Malezya hakkında yazılmış ilk Türkçe kitap olarak KTÜ Yayınevinde bastırdı.
2017 yılında 4 Mart- 31 Temmuz tarihleri arasında TÜBİTAK Doktora Sonrası Yurtdışı Araştırma Bursuyla beş ay İngiltere'de, Birmingham Üniversitesinde konusunun dünyadaki sayılı uzmanlarından, Uluslararası İlişkiler bölümü öğretim üyesi ve Siyaset Bilimci Prof. Dr. Stefan Wolff'un davetiyle bu üniversiteye gitti ve Prof. Wolff’un gözetiminde "Türkiye'de ve Ortadoğu'da Kürtler" konusu üzerine teorik bir çalışma yaptı.
2021 yılı Ekim ayında yine TÜBİTAK’ın yurtdışı doktora sonrası araştırma bursuyla 8 aylığına (kalan süreyi kendisi tazmin ederek toplamda bir yıl kalmıştır) Duisburg-Essen Üniversitesi’ne bağlı bir kurum olan Türkiye Araştırmaları Merkezi müdürü Prof. Dr. Hacı Halil Uslucan’ın davetiyle Almanya’ya gitti. Prof. Uslucan’ın danışmanlığında verilerini Duisburg ve Essen’deki 52 Türk derneği yöneticisi, üyesi ve gönüllüsü 300 kişiden topladığı “Almanya’da Türk Diasporasının Oluşumu” başlıklı nicel ve nitel bir diaspora çalışması yürüttü.
6 Ağustos 2023 tarihinde maaşsız bir araştırma görevlendirmesiyle sosyal yapı, kültür, folklor ve etnografi çalışmaları yapmak üzere Özbekistan’ın başkenti Taşkent’e gitti. Buradaki çalışmaları devam etmektedir.
Sosyolojinin Kent Sosyolojisi, İktisat Sosyolojisi, Siyaset Sosyolojisi ve Etnik Sosyoloji alt bilim dallarına odaklanan yazarın, doktora tezinden müteşekkil Şehir ve Toplum isimli kitabının yanı sıra içerisinde Malezya monografisi ve Trabzon'da Müteahhitlik mesleğini incelediği meslek monografisi ve Trabzon’da Vatanseverlik kavramını incelediği jeo-politik monografi çalışmalarının bulunduğu beş telif eseri ve 17 tane de editörlüğünü yaptığı edisyon kitap çalışması mevcuttur. Alptekin aynı zamanda HABİTUS Toplumbilim Dergisi’nin yanı sıra TR Dizinli İMGELEM Dergisi’nin de editörlüğünü, bu dergileri yayımlayan çatı kurum olan BİLGİTOY Derneği’nin de kurucu başkanlığını yürütmektedir. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslar arası dergilerde basılmış daha çok Küresel şehirleşme trendleri, Kentsel Dönüşüm, Kapitalizm, Ortadoğu’nun etnik yapısı, Avrupa Birliği’nde toplumsal bütünleşme süreci, milliyetçilik, ulus inşası, göç, diaspora, ulus devlet ve etnik farklılıklar bağlamında 70 kadar İngilizce ve Türkçe makale, kitap bölümü ve tebliği bulunmaktadır. Hala KTÜ, Sosyoloji Bölümü’nde akademik faaliyetine devam etmekte ve Siyaset Sosyolojisi odaklı lisans ve yüksek lisans dersleri vermektedir.
