1. ETHICAL PRINCIPLES

The Journal of Society, Economy and Management (JSEM) is committed to conducting a fair, transparent, and reputable publication process. In this regard, the ethical principles adopted are based on the guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These principles serve to support all parties involved in the publication process—authors, readers, researchers, publishers, reviewers, and editors—in achieving the intended standards of quality.
In order to attain international academic standards and to successfully represent both our journal and Kütahya Dumlupınar University, which we proudly represent, all of the principles outlined below are strictly observed by our editorial board. Our editor also conducts the process with dedication to ensure that all other stakeholders show the same level of sensitivity and responsibility.

1.1. Ethical Principles for Authors

Authors submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Society, Economy and Management (JSEM) are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:

  • The submitted work must be original.
  • Complete and accurate citations must be provided throughout the study.
  • Authors must agree to provide any information and documentation requested by the editorial board during the evaluation process.
  • If the study requires ethics committee approval, the author(s) must obtain and submit the relevant documentation.
  • The manuscript must be prepared in accordance with the plagiarism limits set by the journal.
  • Authors must agree to make all requested revisions at any stage of the process.
  • Authors are expected to complete all revisions within the specified time frame, taking into account JSEM’s average publication timeline. If the author fails to make the necessary revisions within 30 days, despite editor notifications and reminders, the manuscript will be removed from the process. Authors facing unexpected health or similar issues must inform the editor via DergiPark or the contact tools provided on the journal's website.
  • The manuscript submitted to JSEM must not be submitted simultaneously to another journal.
  • Requests to add or remove authors or change the order of authorship will not be accepted after submission. All author information must be finalized before the manuscript is uploaded to the system.

Important Reminder:

  • In accordance with the TR Index evaluation criteria, authors are not permitted to publish more than one article in the same year in the Journal of Society, Economy and Management (JSEM). Furthermore, articles by the same author(s) cannot be published in two consecutive issues of the journal. For example, if an author has a paper published in the February 2024 issue, their next article can be published no earlier than the February 2025 issue. Similarly, for authors with a publication in the October 2024 issue, the earliest possible publication of another article would be in the June 2025 issue.
  • A manuscript that has been rejected during the preliminary review or peer review process cannot be resubmitted under the same title for reconsideration. In addition, author(s) whose two separate submissions are rejected by JSEM within the same year will not be permitted to submit another manuscript until at least one year has passed from the date of their last submission. Any manuscripts submitted within this restricted period will be automatically rejected without review.
  • JSEM is committed to contributing to the improvement of all submissions at every stage of the review process. Therefore, authors are expected to carefully review the journal’s editorial policies and submission guidelines before submitting their work. No subsequent stage of the process will be initiated unless the preceding stage is successfully completed.

1.2. Ethical Principles for Editors

The editor of the Journal of Society, Economy and Management (JSEM) is expected to uphold the following ethical duties and responsibilities, based on the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors, both published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as open-access resources:

  • To demonstrate the necessary diligence in ensuring the implementation of fair, transparent, and impartial publishing principles.
  • To be accessible and responsive by providing requested information to readers and authors.
  • To contribute to the development and improvement of the journal.
  • To effectively manage editorial processes that enhance the quality of manuscripts under review.
  • To ensure coordination and collaboration among the editorial board members.
  • To communicate revision requests to authors in a clear and comprehensible manner.
  • To ensure that all submissions are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process.
  • To assign reviewers who are experts in the relevant academic field.
  • To issue certificates of review to referees upon completion of their evaluations and to assess their performance.
  • To reassign manuscripts to new reviewers if the initial review lacks scientific value.
  • To inform members of the advisory board about journal procedures and developments.
  • To maintain regular and effective communication with the advisory board.
  • To ensure that each published article adheres to the journal’s publication policies and international standards.
  • To ensure the protection of personal data at all stages of manuscript handling.
  • To safeguard human and animal rights in submitted studies.
  • To take preventive measures against potential misconduct and abuse of editorial responsibilities.
  • To ensure the prompt correction of any errors, inconsistencies, or misleading claims found in the published work.
  • To protect the intellectual property rights of all published articles and defend the rights of the journal and authors in the event of possible infringements.
  • To consider and respond constructively to well-reasoned critiques related to published articles.
  • To carefully review and provide clear, informative responses to any complaints received from authors, reviewers, or readers.

1.3. Ethical Principles for Reviewers

The Journal of Society, Economy and Management (JSEM) conducts its evaluation process under a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers assigned to evaluate submissions are selected from among academic experts in the relevant field. At no stage of the review process are the identities of authors and reviewers disclosed to one another, and all necessary precautions are taken to maintain this confidentiality. Review forms and revision files are transmitted to authors without any reviewer-identifying information, and author revisions are forwarded to reviewers without disclosing author identities.
Within this framework, reviewers evaluating submissions for JSEM are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles:

  • Accept to review only manuscripts that fall within their area of expertise.
  • Conduct the review process in an objective and confidential manner.
  • Inform the editor and decline the review if a conflict of interest is identified.
  • Destroy all related documents after the review process is completed.
  • Evaluate the manuscript without any bias based on nationality, gender, religious beliefs, or commercial considerations.
  • Use a constructive and respectful tone throughout the entire review process.

1.4. Ethical Principles for the Publisher

The publisher of the Journal of Society, Economy and Management (JSEM)—Republic of Türkiye Kütahya Dumlupınar University—and the Editor of JSEM act in full awareness of the following ethical responsibilities related to the journal:

  • The publisher is responsible for protecting the ownership and copyright of all articles published in JSEM and is obliged to preserve the records of every published copy.
  • The publisher holds the responsibility to take necessary measures against any form of academic misconduct, including scientific malpractice, citation manipulation, and plagiarism, in relation to the editors and the publication process.

2. PUBLICATION POLICY

  • Manuscripts submitted for publication to the Journal of Society, Economy and Management (JSEM) must not have been previously published, submitted for review, or accepted for publication elsewhere.
  • The responsibility for the content of the manuscripts under review or already published lies entirely with the author(s). The views expressed in the articles do not reflect those of Kütahya Dumlupınar University.
  • JSEM holds all publishing rights—both in print and electronic formats—for articles accepted for publication, without the need for further permissions.
  • The journal publishes articles written in either Turkish or English.
  • If the research article has been supported by any institution or derived from a thesis, this must be indicated with an asterisk (*) placed after the final word in the title. A corresponding footnote must be added on the same page. In articles derived from theses, the thesis author must be listed as the first author.
  • All submitted manuscripts undergo a preliminary review by the Editorial Board. Based on this initial evaluation, authors may be asked to make formal or content-related revisions.
  • The decision to initiate the peer-review process is made by the Editor and Editorial Board. Manuscripts that pass the preliminary review are evaluated by at least two referees.
  • Referees are selected from among professors and associate professors employed at universities in Turkey. When deemed necessary by the Editorial Board, referees may also be chosen from professors and associate professors affiliated with universities abroad. In cases where no expert professor or associate professor is available, assistant professors or researchers holding a doctoral degree with expertise in the subject area may be assigned as reviewers.
  • The double-blind peer review system is strictly applied; identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the evaluation process.
  • Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board may decide to accept, reject, or request revisions, additional information, or reductions to the manuscript. Authors will be notified of the decision accordingly.
  • Authors are obliged to make all revisions requested by the reviewers. Manuscripts that do not meet revision requirements will not be published. Authors must submit a revision report along with the revised version of the manuscript.
  • An author may not have more than one article published in the same issue or in two consecutive issues of the journal.
  • Submitted manuscripts will not be returned to the authors regardless of the outcome.
  • Articles from both current and past issues of JSEM are made available on the journal’s website (teyd.dpu.edu.tr) for the benefit of the academic community.
  • This journal adopts an open access policy. All issues are published in accordance with this policy and are freely accessible.
  • JSEM adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics by observing the COPE International Standards for Editors and Authors and the principles of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). For further details, please visit: http://teyd.dpu.edu.tr.


Our journal welcomes article submissions and does not charge any publication fee at any stage.

1985 yılında Bolu’da doğan Seval AKSOY KÜRÜ, ilk, orta ve lise eğitimini Bolu Merkez’de bulunan devlet okullarında tamamlamıştır. 2010 yılının haziran ayında Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi (yeni adı ile Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi) İktisadi İdari Bilimler Fakültesi İşletme bölümünde lisans eğitimini bitirdikten sonra, 2010 yılının eylül ayında Gebze Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü’nde (yeni adı ile Gebze Teknik Üniversitesi) Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde İşletme-Yönetim ve Organizasyon Yüksek Lisansı eğitimine başlayarak 2012 yılında “Etik liderlik ve örgütsel vatandaşlık davranışlarının örgütsel performansa etkisi üzerine bir araştırma” başlıklı tezi ile enstitü birincisi olarak eğitimini tamamlamıştır. 2015 yılında Doğuş Üniversitesi’nde Psikoloji lisans eğitimine başlayarak 2017 yılında Psikolog ünvanı ve aynı zamanda onur derecesi ile mezun olmuştur. 2020 yılında Gebze Teknik Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde İşletme-Yönetim ve Organizasyon Doktorasını “Örgütsel özdeşleşmenin öncülleri ve ardılları üzerine bir meta analiz çalışması” başlıklı tezi ile tamamlamıştır. Ayrıca, AKSOY KÜRÜ, 2019 Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde Örgütsel Davranış Doktorasına başlamış olup ikinci doktora derecesini “Tehdit ve Hata Yönetimi Bağlamında Narsist Liderlik ve Psikolojik Ayrıcalık Etkileşimi” başlıklı tezi ile 2024 yılı içerisinde almayı hedeflemektedir.

Mart 2015-Mart 2019 yıllarında Doğuş Üniversitesi Meslek Yüksek Okulu İnsan Kaynakları Yönetimi bölümünde öğretim görevlisi ve aynı zamanda bölüm başkanı olarak çalışmıştır. Ağustos 2020-Şubat 2021 arasında Harran Üniversitesi’nde altı ay süreyle misafir öğretim üyesi sıfatıyla görev yapmış ve bu görev kapsamında Yönetim ve Organizasyon dersleri vermiştir. Takiben, Şubat 2022-Haziran 2023 arasında Balıkesir Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat fakültesi Psikoloji bölümü Endüstri ve Örgüt Psikolojisi Ana Bilim Dalı’nda Ana bilim Dalı Başkanı ve Dr. Öğretim Üyesi olarak çalışmıştır. Bu zaman zarfında, 2547 sayılı yüksek Öğretim Kanunu ve Doçentlik Yönetmeliği’nin ilgili maddeleri uyarınca yayın ve çalışmalarının değerlendirilmesi sonucunda başarılı olan Seval AKSOY KÜRÜ 11 Ağustos 2022 tarihinde Doçent unvanını almaya hak kazanmıştır. Hali hazırda Marmara Üniversitesi İnsan ve Toplum Bilimleri Fakültesi Psikoloji Bölümü Sosyal Psikoloji Ana Bilim Dalı’nda Doçent olarak görevine devam etmektedir. Meslek hayatı boyunca farklı statü ve görevlerde çeşitli eğitimler alan Seval AKSOY KÜRÜ, Sosyal Psikoloji, Örgütsel Davranış, Endüstri ve Örgüt Psikolojisi, Çalışan Psikolojisi, Yönetim Psikolojisi, Yönetim ve Organizasyon, Liderlik, İnsan Kaynakları Yönetimi ve Örgüt Kültürü gibi konularda ders ve eğitimler düzenlemiş, Meta-Analiz, Sistematik Analiz ve Bibliyometrik Analiz özelinde çalışmalar yürütmüştür ve endüstri ve örgüt psikolojisi ile örgütsel davranış konularında makale, bildiri ve kitap bölümleri yayınlamıştır.

25 Aralık 1977 yılında Niğde'de doğdu. İlk, orta ve Lise öğrenimini Niğde'nin Bor ilçesinde tamamladı. 1995 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi Çalışma Ekonomisi Bölümünde Lisans eğitimine başlayan Konak, 2000 yılında mezun oldu.  2005 yılında Karaelmas Üniversitesi /Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü/İktisat ABD.'da Yüksek Lisans eğitimini ve 2012 yılında da  Sakarya Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, İktisat ABD'da doktora eğitimini tamamladı ve Uluslararası İktisat alanında Bilim Doktoru ünvanını alarak Yardımcı Doçent Doktor olarak atandı.. 2003-2014 yılları arasında Karaelmas Üniversitesi Devrek MYO da görev yapan Konak, 2014 yılında Karabük Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi,İktisat bölümünde görev yapmaya başladı. 2020 yılında Doçent ünvanını alan Konak uluslararası iktisat alanında çok sayıda çalışma yapmıştır.  Konak halen Karabük Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi,İktisat bölümünde görev yapmaktadır

Halen Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi İ.İ.B.F. Finans Bankacılık bölümünde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Başlıca çalışma alanları bankacılık, finansal ekonomi, finansal piyasalarda sürdürülebilirlik ve dijitalleşme ile gayrimenkul finansmanı şeklinde sıralanabilir.
