Effectiveness of Local Beauveria bassiana Culture Filtrate Against Meloidogyne incognita in Tomato with Different Application Approaches

Öz

In this study the effects of culture filtrate of the native Beauveria bassiana BIM-001 isolate on tomatoes grown in pre-infested soil with root-knot nematodes in combination with different treatments. Fifteen different treatments involving single and multiple applications, with two controls, were utilized in the study. The gall index ranged from 1.6 to 4.7 (0–5 scale) across treatments. The gall index was 4.7 in the negative control (distilled water) and 2.1 in the positive control (Paecilomyces lilacinus PL1). Multiple treatments were significantly more effective than a single application. With a single application, treatment 15 days before planting was most effective (gall index 2.5). The lowest gall index was observed in the multiple-use starting 15 days before planting: 1.8 (soil application at 15 days before and 3 days after planting), 1.7 (soil application at 15 days before and 15 days after planting), and 1.6 (soil application at 15 days before and 1 day before planting). Multiple applications of the native B. bassiana BIM-001 filtrate was as effective as the registered bionematicide (P. lilacinus strain PL1) used in Türkiye.
