Yüksek lisans derecesini Gazi Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Üretim Yönetimi ve Pazarlama Programı’ndan (1989), doktora derecesini de İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Turizm Programı’ndan aldı (1993). Gazi Üniversitesi Mesleki Eğitim Fakültesi Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Eğitimi Bölümü’nde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak çalışmaya başladı (1986). Yardımcı Doçent Dr (1994), Doçent Dr (1999) ve sonrasında ise Profesör olarak görevine devam etmektedir (2004). Halen Gazi Üniversitesi’nin bölünmesi ile Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli Üniversitesi, Turizm Fakültesi, Turizm İşletmeciliği Bölümü’nde Profesör olarak görev yapmaktadır (2018-devam ediyor). Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu is currently the Provost at Virscend University in Irvine, California. Previously, he served as the Dean and the McKibbon Endowed Chair Professor of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida (USF), where he also held roles as the Director of the M3 Center for Hospitality Technology and Innovation, Coordinator of International Programs for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Director of Global Partnerships for the Muma College of Business between 2010 and 2025. Dr. Cobanoglu is a renowned expert in hospitality and tourism technology. He was a Fulbright Specialist commissioned by the Fulbright Commission from 2018 to 2021. Additionally, he is a Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP), certified by Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP) and the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). He serves as the Editor of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology (JHTT), which is indexed in SSCI with an Impact Factor of 6.4. Dr. Cobanoglu has co-authored over 10 books and contributed to more than 20 conference proceedings. Additionally, he is currently serving as the President of the Association of Global Educators (AGE).
Michael Hall is currently a Professor in the Department of Management, Marketing and Tourism, University of Canterbury, New Zealand. He also holds visiting professor positions at Oulu University in Finland, Linnaeus University in Sweden, the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and Taylor's University in Malaysia. Coeditor of Current Issues in Tourism and Field Editor of Frontiers in Sustainable Tourism his research encompassed tourism, regional development, global environmental change, sustainability and resilience.
Alper Işın is an Associate Professor in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Faculty of Tourism, İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University. He completed his master’s degree in the Tourism Management Education Program at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Gazi University, and his PhD in the Tourism Management Program at the Institute of Social Sciences, Gazi University. As of 2025, he also holds an academic position at Kyrgyzstan–Türkiye Manas University. His primary academic and research interests include tourism management, tourism marketing, tourist behavior, and gastronomy studies.

Her research interests are connected with sustainable management, sustainable tourism, and tourism management and marketing. Also in her research interest is heritage, she wrote a book about cultural heritage in Silesian Metropolis. She wrote a lot of articles about heritage, especially industrial heritage. Now she is one of the book editor: "Building Community Resiliency and Sustainability With Tourism Development”.
As part of her sustainability-related activities, she gives numerous lectures ranging from kindergartens to high schools. At his alma mater, she teaches a subject also related to sustainability.

Dr. Mehmet Altin is an Associate Professor at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida. He has authored or co-authored over 80 scientific publications, including refereed journal articles, conference proceedings, presentations, and encyclopedia entries. His scholarly research focuses on performance analytics employing strategic and revenue management approaches, business analytics and intelligence, and entrepreneurship. This includes examining strategic decision-making processes, their impact on firm performance, and the use of analytics to optimize business strategies. His work primarily relies on quantitative approaches such as econometric models and time-series analyses, but he also employs mixed methods and techniques.
He is the Senior Associate Editor for the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management (IJCHM) and served/serving as an editorial board member for multiple journals. Also, Dr. Altin serves/served as a member of scientific committees, paper review committees, and session chairs at conferences. He has been serving as a reviewer for numerous refereed journals and multiple international conferences. Additionally, he serves/served on several university committees, and he was the faculty assembly chair at Rosen College.
He was actively involved in the Business Intelligence and Analytics group while completing his Ph.D. at Virginia Tech. He received the Certificate in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) and participated in the train the trainer program for Certification in Advanced Hospitality and Tourism Analytics (CAHTA). He is the recipient of the 2013 Pamplin College of Business Ph.D. Scholarship. He also received the 2013 annual ICHRIE conference best paper award, the 2014 Michael D. Olsen Memorial Graduate Fellowship in strategic management and finance, and the 2019 Cornell Hospitality Quarterly Best Paper Award finalist. Dr. Atilla AKBABA 1969 yılında Kars’ta doğdu. İlkokul, ortaokul ve lise öğrenimini Kdz. Ereğli’de tamamladı. Lisans öğrenimini 1991 yılında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksekokulu’nda tamamladı. Daha sonra, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından açılan burs sınavını kazanarak Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’ne gitti ve 1997 yılında Florida International University, The School of Hospitality’den yüksek lisans derecesi aldı. 2003 yılında Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, Turizm İşletmeciliği Doktora Programı’nı tamamlayarak doktora derecesi aldı. Lisans ve yüksek lisans öğrenimi sırasında Türkiye, Almanya ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde çeşitli turizm işletmelerinde çalışma ve inceleme yapma olanağı buldu. orn in 1978 in Tosya, Şahin completed his undergraduate education in 2002 at Balıkesir University, School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Department of Travel Management.
After working in various tourism enterprises within the sector, he pursued an academic career. At the Institute of Social Sciences of Balıkesir University, Department of Tourism Management and Hotel Management, he received his Master of Science degree in 2004 with his thesis titled “Outsourcing in Enterprises and an Application on Accommodation Businesses.” In 2011, he earned his Ph.D. with his dissertation titled “The Ethical Decision-Making Process in the Marketing Activities of Travel Agencies: The Case of Istanbul.”
Throughout his academic career, he has held administrative positions in various faculties at Balıkesir University, served as a member of faculty and executive boards, and taken part in different university committees and commissions. In addition, he has acted as a coordinator and principal investigator in several European Union-funded projects supported by various institutions. He has also served in roles such as Chair of the Ethics Committee and Coordinator of Publications and Journals.
Şahin currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Tourism Management at the Balıkesir University Faculty of Tourism.
He is married and has two children.
| Dr. Çakici is a full time professor at the Faculty of Tourism at Mersin University, Turkey. He has published many articles, book chapters, and conference papers besides a course book on Meeting Management. He is one of the editors of a textbook called "Tourism Guidance" and also edited a course book named “General Tourism”. He is also one of the authors of the book "Statistical Thinking and Data Analysis". His research interests are marketing issues, research methods and business statistics. He has also contributed to national and international journals and academic conferences by refereeing the articles and papers. Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt was born in Kaynarca, Sakarya in 1968. He graduated from Uludağ University Balıkesir School of Tourism Management and Hotel Management in 1988 and started working as a research assistant at the same school in 1989. He completed his master's degree at the University of Surrey in England in 1992, having won a scholarship from the Ministry of National Education. Avcıkurt received his doctorate in Tourism Management and Hotel Management from Balıkesir University in 1997, became an associate professor in 2000, and a full professor in 2006. Having held various administrative positions within the university, Avcıkurt served as the Director of the Balıkesir University School of Tourism Management and Hotel Management from 2003 to 2013. On April 25, 2013, by a decision of the Council of Ministers, he was appointed as the first dean of the Faculty of Tourism, which was established in place of the School of Tourism Management and Hotel Management, and he held this position until December 19, 2020. Avcıkurt, who also has sector experience in the field of tourism, has numerous publications both domestically and internationally. He has also served as a project manager in various European Union projects. Since January 2023, Cevdet Avcıkurt has been serving as the Vice Rector of Balıkesir University. Fluent in English and German, Avcıkurt is married and has two children.
Erdogan Ekiz joined TEAM University in Tashkent Uzbekistan as Full-Professor of Marketing and Dean of Faculty. He was previously Associate Professor at Westminster International University in Tashkent, and Ad-Hoc Professor at The Ostelea in Morocco. Before this Dr. Erdogan was the Founding Dean of the School of Hospitality Business and Management at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. He was an Associate Professor at King Abdulaziz University, Faculty of Tourism, Saudi Arabia, where he served as Director of both the Postgraduate Studies and International Relations and Agreements Unit. He also served as the launching Head of the Travel and Tourism Department. He worked as a Director of Studies at the London School of Commerce, and Associate Professor at the University of Derby, University of Worcester, and University of Northampton’s common degree program (held in Saudi Arabia) on an ad hoc basis. Dr. Ekiz is a certified trainer, recognized by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) of Saudi Arabia, worked with MEHRAT and BETA training centers on an AdHoc basis.
Dr. Ekiz completed his Ph.D. in tourism and hospitality management at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has a B.Sc. in tourism and hotel management and an M.B.A. in services marketing from Eastern Mediterranean University in North Cyprus. He is a ‘Certified Hospitality Educator’ (CHE) from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute and ‘Qualified Learning Facilitator’ (QLF) from École hôtelière de Lausanne. He is an ‘Advanced Trainer’ with Distinction of International Air Transport Association (IATA). He has over 20 years of teaching experience in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Cyprus, Turkey, Malaysia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Morocco. He is the Middle East Representative of the Association of North America Higher Education International.
Dr. Ekiz is acting as the Asia-Pacific Coordinating Editor of the Journal of Travel and Tourism as well as the Middle-East Coordinator of the Journal of Multidisciplinary Academic Tourism. His expertise includes service failure, consumer complaining behavior, tourist behavior, and culture. He has around 200 published journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers. His papers have appeared in respected refereed journals such as the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Managing Service Quality: An International Journal, Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, Scandinavian Journal of Hospitality and Tourism, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management, Tourism Analysis, etc. He is an editorial board member of top-tier journals, such as the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, the Journal of Service Theory and Practice, Tourism Analysis, and several more.
He has successfully completed several consultancy projects with major companies in the industry and is still working on a dozen grants and consultation projects for both government and private sectors. Dr. Ekiz has a wide range of hands-on management experience within the sector, from fast food to 5-star hotels.
Prof. Dr. Fügen Durlu Özkaya graduated from Ankara University and received her PhD in Food Engineering. For the past 18 years, she has been conducting academic studies in the field of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and is currently a faculty member at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. Her research interests include food science, gastronomy education, sustainable gastronomy, sensory analysis, product development, traditional Turkish culinary culture, and food safety. She has published numerous articles, book chapters, and conference papers in national and international journals, and has served as a principal investigator and researcher in various scientific projects, contributing to the advancement of the gastronomy discipline.

Prof. Dr. Murat Çuhadar is a distinguished expert in tourism research with a strong interdisciplinary focus on data-driven methodologies, digital transformation, and the integration of emerging technologies in tourism systems. His work spans bibliometric mapping, quantitative analysis, and technology applications in tourism, with a particular emphasis on how artificial intelligence, smart tourism, and digital innovation shape conceptual and practical developments in the field. In addition, his research interests extend to gastronomy tourism and food and beverage management, where he examines consumer behaviour, service quality, online reviews, and digital transformation processes in restaurant and hospitality operations. He has also contributed to the growing literature on the role of technology and data analytics in enhancing gastronomic experiences and the competitiveness of food and beverage businesses. Prof. Çuhadar’s research has been published in indexed journals and widely cited in international bibliometric and empirical studies. He is recognised for advancing methodological rigor in tourism research and for contributing to a better understanding of global research patterns, collaboration dynamics, and the structural evolution of tourism, hospitality, and food and beverage studies.

Orhan Icoz is full Professor of Tourism Management at the Department of Tourism Guidance, School of Applied Sciences, Yasar University in Turkey. He graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Marketing, at Ege University in 1977, and he subsequently obtained his master’s degree from the Department of Tourism Management at Dokuz Eylül University in 1982, and gained his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Tourism Management, Dokuz Eylül University in 1987. He became associate professor in 1991 in the field of tourism management and assigned as full professor in 1997 at Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Business, Department of Tourism Management. His research interests include Economics of Travel and Tourism, Tourism and Hospitality Marketing, Travel and Tourism Market Research, Tourism Planning and Policy. Dr İçöz has published a number of articles and book chapters and s also Editor of the books titled Encyclopeadia of Tourism - Turkiye and Theories and Models in Tourism and Hospitality Research. Dr İçöz is currently the head of Dept. of Tourism Guidance at Yaşar University. He is also the member of the editorial boards of many journals and member of TURAK Accreditation Board.
ODTÜ Yabancı Diller Eğitimi İngilizce Öğretmenliği programından 1999 yılında mezun oldu. Yüksek Lisans ve Doktora çalışmalarını Gazi Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü Turizm İşletmeciliği Eğitimi programında tamamladı. Gazi Üniversitesinde bir süre İngilizce okutmanı olarak görev yaptıktan sonra 2011 yılından itibaren Gazi Üniversitesi Turizm Fakültesi Seyahat İşletmeciliği ve Turizm Rehberliği bölümünde öğretim üyesi olarak atandı. Lisansüstü programı başlangıcından itibaren özellikle turist rehberliği, turist rehberliği eğitimi üzerine çalışmalarda bulundu. Dr. Anukrati Sharma is an Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce and Management at the University of Kota (A State Govt. University) in Kota, Rajasthan, India. She is the Director of the Skill Development Centre and Chairperson of the Women Cell at the same University. She is also Dean (Honorary) of Tourism and Hospitality at Vishwakarma Skills University, Jaipur (A Govt. State University). She is a teachers elected BoM (Board of Management) member of University of Kota. She worked three years (06 Jan.2021- 06 Jan.24) as the Head of the Department of Commerce and Management, University of Kota. Her doctorate from the University of Rajasthan is in Tourism Marketing, and she completed her dissertation research on Tourism in Rajasthan--Progress &Prospects. She completed a Major Research Project under Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India. A member of 4 professional bodies, she has attended a number of national and international conferences and presented 45 papers. She has been invited as Keynote , Speaker , Panel member by different countries such as Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Northern Cyprus, Europe and Turkey.
Hüseyin PAMUKÇU received his bachelor's degree from Mustafa Kemal University in 2011 and his master's degree from Afyon Kocatepe University in 2014 and his doctorate from Sakarya University 2017. He started his academic career at Kastamonu University in 2013. He started to work as a Research Assistant in 2013 and as a Doctor Lecturer in 2018 in the Department of Tourism Management of the Faculty of Tourism at the University of Kastamonu. As of February 2021, he has continued his studies at the Faculty of Tourism, University of Afyon Kocatepe as Assoc. Professor. Pamukçu, is married father with two child.
Uğur AKDU
1981 yılında Burdur’un Çavdır ilçesinde doğdu. Önlisans Eğitimini Anadolu Üniversitesi, Halkla İlişkiler Programında, Lisans eğitimini Gazi Üniversitesi, Ticaret ve Turizm Eğitim Fakültesi, Seyahat İşletmeciliği ve Turizm Rehberliği Öğretmenliği bölümünde 2006 yılında tamamladı. 2009 Yılında Gazi Üniversitesi, Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü, Turizm İşletmeciliği Eğitimi ABD.’nda Yüksek Lisansını tamamladı. Bu döneme kadar turizm sektöründe çeşitli pozisyonlarda çalıştı. 2014 yılında Akdeniz Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik ABD.’nda doktorasını tamamlayan Dr. Akdu, 2020 yılında Turizm Bilim alanında Doçent Unvanı almıştır. Akdu, turizm eğitimi, kültür turizmi, kültürel miras, turizm rehberliği, turizmin sosyal ve kültürel etkileri sağlık turizmi, yaratıcı turizm gibi alternatif turizm türleri üzerinde çalışmaları bulunmaktadır. Dr. Uğur AKDU Gümüşhane Üniversitesi, Turizm Fakültesi, Turizm Rehberliği Bölümünde Doçent olarak görevini sürdürmektedir. Uğur AKDU meslektaşı Dr. Serap AKDU ile evli ve 3 çocuk babasıdır.
Dr. Viana Hassan is actively involved in academic and research work in Tourism & Cultural Management in Lebanon and Malta. She got her Ph.D. in Tourism Management and Cultural from Saint Joseph University, Beirut. Her Thesis was entitled "Medical Tourism in Lebanon". She has more than 19 years of tourism experience in many related Travel and Tourism Fields, varying from airline sales experience (MEA), to Co-management several Lebanese Travel agencies. She is an Experienced Lecturer with more than 18 years’ experience at several universities in Lebanon (Lebanese University, A.U. L, Lebanese International University, Islamic University), the Institute of Tourism Studies, STC higher education partner of Wolverhampton and University of Malta (Malta), GBS with a demonstrated history of working in the Higher education industry, Skilled in Tourism Management, Customer service, Branding, Event Management, Airline Business Management, Niche Tourism, Business operations management, Customer acquisition and Medical Tourism.
Dr. Viana has participated in international conferences ( Expo Dubai 2020, 7th Medical Tourism World Summit , etc…) including Athens, Paris, Vienna, Dubai, Beirut, Valencia, Amman, Lisbon, Istanbul, India and has published papers in peer review journals.
