Dr. Cem Emir Guldogan graduated from “Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Turkey” in 2008 and completed his general surgery residency at “Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital” in 2014. Between 2014-2016, he worked as a General Surgery Specialist in “Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital-Colorectal Surgery Department.”
He participated in Robotic Colorectal Surgery training held at the Colorectal Surgery Department of “Stony Brook University, New York-USA” in 2015 and 2016. He started to work as a Consultant at “Liv Hospital Ankara-Turkey” in 2016. In addition, he lectured as an Assistant Professor at “Istanbul Altinbas University Faculty of Medicine,” Department of General Surgery, between 2017-2018 and at “Istanbul Istinye University Faculty of Medicine,” Department of General Surgery, between 2018-2020.
He received the title of “Fellow of the European Board of Surgery” (FEBS) in 2019 and “International Fellow of the American Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery” (IFASMBS) in 2023. In addition, Dr. Guldogan received the title of “Associate Professor of General Surgery” in 2020 and is mostly interested in Robotic Surgery, Obesity and Metabolic Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic procedures, and Malignant and Benign Diseases of the Colon and Rectum.

Dr. Guldogan is a member of “American Collage of Surgeons” (ACS), “American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS),” “International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO),” “The European Association of Endoscopic Surgery” (EAES), “The Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia and Pacific” (ELSA), “Turkish Surgical Society” (TSS), “Turkish Society of Colon Rectum Disease” (TSCRD), “Turkish Association of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (TATES),” “Turkish Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery” (TSBMS), “Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery Society” (ELCD) associations.

Dr. Guldogan has 84 scientific articles published in international journals. He has 89 articles, oral presentations, and posters, 29 of which are presented at international and 60 national congresses.
Among these studies, the study titled "Changes in HOMA-IR Index After Bariatric Surgery: Comparison of SADS-p and MGB-OAGB" received the “Best International Poster Award” at the 36th "American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery" (ASMBS) Congress. "The Effect of Bariatric Surgery on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (LSG) Versus Laparoscopic Single Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (SAGB)" titled study, presented at the 19th National Surgery Congress in Turkey, 2014, was recognized as the 2nd Best Oral Presentation. "Comparison of Tisseel and Gore-Seamguard Application in Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy" This study, presented at the 11th National Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Congress in Turkey in 2013, received the "Best Oral Presentation" award.
Dr. Guldogan participated in many congresses as an invited speaker and moderator, and as of May 2023, he has an H-index of 13, an I10-index of 19, and 1090 citations to his research.
