WRITING GUIDELINES
1. Articles must be prepared using the journal article template in "MS Office Word 2010" or a later version, in A4 size. The length should be at least 6000 words and must not exceed 30 pages in the journal format. The page layout should be as follows: Top: 5 cm, Bottom: 2.5 cm, Left: 2.5 cm, and Right: 2.5 cm.
2. Except for the title page, the article should be written in 10-point “Times New Roman” font with single line spacing. A space must be left after commas and periods. No indentation should be used at the beginning of paragraphs, and there should be 6 pt space before and after paragraphs. No additional blank lines should be left between paragraphs.
3. On the title page, the Turkish and English titles should be written in 11-point font, with single line spacing and 3 pt spacing before and after paragraphs. The abstract, both in Turkish and English, should be a single paragraph of 120 to 200 words in 9-point font. Additionally, 3 to 5 keywords should be provided in both Turkish and English, along with up to 5 JEL (Journal of Economic Literature) classification codes. For articles written in English, the title, abstract, keywords, and JEL classification codes should first be provided in English, followed by Turkish.
4. Main and subheadings should be bold and left-aligned (without indentation) and numbered in decimal format (e.g., 1., 1.1., 1.1.1., 1.1.2., 1.1.2.1.). Numbering should begin with the "Introduction" and continue to the "Conclusion" without opening subheadings under these sections. All letters in the main headings should be capitalized, while only the first letters of subheadings should be capitalized. There should be no blank lines before or after the main and subheadings. However, 12 pt space before and 6 pt space after should be left for main headings.
5. All tables and figures should be centered on the page and placed in appropriate sections of the text. Each table and figure should have a sequential number in bold font (e.g., Table 1., Figure 2.) and a title in regular font. The title should be centered above the table or figure, with only the first letters of words capitalized, in 10-point font, with 6 pt space before and after. The text within tables and figures should be in Times New Roman font, between 8-9 points, and single-spaced. All visuals such as graphs, charts, maps, drawings, and photographs should be classified as figures. Tables should only have horizontal lines, and vertical lines should not be used. All tables and figures should be easy to read and conform to the page layout. Explanations and sources for tables and figures should be provided below them, in 8-point font, with 3 pt space before and after. No blank lines should be left before or after tables and figures.
6. In Turkish articles, commas should be used as the decimal separator, while periods should be used in English articles. For thousands separators, periods should be used in Turkish articles and commas in English articles. Numbers between 0-9 in the article text should be written in words, while numbers 10 and above should be written in digits.
7. Equations, models, and formulas should be left-aligned, numbered sequentially, and the numbers should be right-aligned in parentheses. No extra line spacing should be left before or after equations, models, or formulas.
8. Bullet-pointed text should be left-aligned with 3 pt spacing before and after the paragraph.
9. If a direct quotation from a source in the article is fewer than 40 words, it should be enclosed in quotation marks and cited within the text. If the quotation exceeds 40 words, it should be placed in a new line, indented 1.25 cm from both the left and right margins, with 3 pt spacing before and after the paragraph, and cited accordingly.
10. If appendices are to be added to the article, they should be placed after the references and labeled (e.g., Appendix 1, Appendix 2).
11. Articles submitted to the journal must be prepared in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA 7) style for referencing, footnotes, and bibliography formatting. Citations within the text should follow the conjunction method. Explanatory notes should be written as footnotes, justified on both sides, in 8-point Times New Roman font with single line spacing and 3 pt spacing before and after the paragraph.
12. In-text citations should include the author's surname, the publication year, and the page number. In articles submitted in Turkish, “ve” should be used between authors for works with two authors, whereas “&” should be used for English submissions. For works with three or more authors, the surname of the first author should be followed by “vd.” in Turkish and “et al.” in English.
• Single author citation: (Tüfekci, 2021, p. 112).

• Citation for the entire source: (Drucker, 1995).
• Secondary source citation: (Freud, 1901, as cited in Bonomi, 1998).
13. If a group author with an abbreviation is used, the full name should be provided for the first citation, followed by the abbreviation for subsequent citations. If no abbreviation is used, there is no difference between first and subsequent citations.
• First citation of a group author with an abbreviation: (Isparta University of Applied Sciences [ISUBÜ], 2022).
• Subsequent citation: (ISUBÜ, 2022).
14. For citations from websites where the author is known, they should be cited like periodicals. If no publication date is provided, the access date should be used as the year of the source. If the author is unknown, the organization and the access year should be cited in parentheses.

• (Yiğit, 2020b, p. 2).
16. In narrative citations where the author's name is mentioned in the text, “and” should be used in English manuscripts for two authors. For works with three or more authors, “et al.” should be used.
• According to Tüfekci (2021, p. 113), ……
• Acar and Özçelik (2011) ……
• Bayrakçı et al. (2022) ……
17. All sources used in the article must be included in the references section. Sources should be listed alphabetically by the author’s surname without distinguishing between types (thesis, book, article, report, etc.). The oldest work by the same author should be listed first. The first line of each reference should be left-aligned, and subsequent lines should be indented by 1.25 cm. This can be set using the "hanging" option in the paragraph settings with a value of 1.25. The references should be formatted in Times New Roman, 10-point font, single-spaced, with 0 pt spacing before and after the paragraph. There should be a blank line between each reference. Except for journal titles, the titles of all publications (articles, books, chapters, theses, etc.) should be written with only the first letter capitalized. In journal titles, the first letter of each word should be capitalized. In works with two or more authors, “and” should be used before the last author in English manuscripts, and "ve" in Turkish manuscripts. The references should be formatted according to the examples provided below.

PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES
1. The Journal of Vocational and Social Sciences of Turkey is an international, peer-reviewed e-journal published three times a year in April, August, and December.
2. Research articles, review articles, and case reports related to all subjects in vocational and social sciences may be submitted to the journal. The type of article must be indicated by the author(s) when submitting the manuscript.
3. Articles submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or submitted elsewhere for publication.
4. Articles should be written in either Turkish or English.
5. Articles must be prepared in accordance with our writing guidelines and submitted via the DergiPark system. Along with the article, the Article Submission Form, signed by all authors, must also be uploaded to the system. Authors must provide their titles, affiliations, contact information, and Orcid IDs in the system without any missing information.
6. By submitting their work, authors declare that they have not committed any form of plagiarism in the article, and they accept full responsibility for any plagiarism-related issues, with no liability for the journal.
7. Articles submitted for publication must adhere to research and publication ethics.
8. All submitted articles are initially screened using the iThenticate plagiarism detection software. Articles with a similarity index exceeding 20% are rejected without proceeding to the review process.
9. Articles are sent to at least two reviewers for evaluation regarding content and format. Reviewers remain anonymous to the authors, and vice versa. If one review is positive and the other negative, the editor may send the article to a third reviewer or make a final decision based on the reviewer reports.
10. Based on the reviewers' feedback, the article may be accepted for publication, revisions may be requested from the author, or the article may be rejected. If revisions are requested, the author must submit the revised manuscript within one month.
11. Articles with excessive writing errors or failing to meet scientific standards will be rejected.
12. Unpublished articles will not be returned to the authors.
13. The opinions expressed in articles published in the journal are not the views of the journal. Full responsibility lies with the author.
14. No monetary copyright fees are paid to the authors of published articles.
15. Articles that do not comply with the publication principles will not be submitted for peer review.
16. Authors are responsible for correctly entering their names, titles, and order of authorship when uploading articles to the system.
ETİK İLKELER
ETHICAL PRINCIPLES
The Journal of Vocational and Social Sciences of Turkey (JOVOSST) adheres to the publication ethics principles, standards, and recommendations outlined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors). Any articles that do not comply with these accepted ethical standards will be retracted, including those found to have violations after publication. All stakeholders are expected to observe the following ethical responsibilities, and any ethical issues will be evaluated in accordance with COPE rules.
Authors' Ethical Responsibilities:
• Authors must ensure that the articles they submit to the journal have not been previously published or submitted elsewhere for publication.
• Authors must provide proper citations for all references used in their articles.
• Authors declare that the article is their own original work, that they have not committed any form of plagiarism, and that they take full responsibility for any plagiarism-related issues, with no liability placed on the journal.
• Authors must guarantee that they have made a scientific contribution to the article and acknowledge that all authors share equal responsibility for the content.
• The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors listed in the article consent to its publication and to being named as co-authors. All individuals who have made significant contributions to the work should be listed as co-authors, while others should be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section.
• Authors are required to disclose any funding sources, financial support, or conflicts of interest related to their work.
• Authors must provide access to the data sets used in the article if deemed necessary.
• Articles submitted to the journal must comply with research and publication ethics. Separate ethics committee approvals must be obtained for clinical and experimental studies involving humans and animals, where required, and these approvals should be clearly stated and documented in the article.
Reviewers' Ethical Responsibilities:
• Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research or knows that a timely review is not possible must notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
• Reviewers are obligated to keep the articles they receive confidential and must not use the information gained through peer review for personal advantage.
• Reviewers must not share their reports or information about the article with others and should not directly communicate with the authors without the editor's permission.
• Reviewers should be alert to potential ethical issues in the manuscript and bring these to the editor’s attention, including any significant similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under review and any other published work they are aware of.
• The review process should be conducted objectively. Reviewers should avoid personal criticism of the authors and provide feedback that is constructive, honest, and courteous.
• Before agreeing to review a manuscript, reviewers must consult the editor if they have any potential conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors.
Editorial Board's Ethical Responsibilities:
• The editorial board is responsible for deciding which articles will be published. The evaluation of articles by the editorial board should be impartial and free from bias related to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy. Decisions should be based on the quality, validity, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's scope. Legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism should also be considered.
• The editor or any editorial board member must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and the publisher.
• Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s or the editorial board’s own research without the express written consent of the author.
