Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal is a national academic journal scanned at ULAKBIM, published by Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity, on two occasions between June 15 and December 15.

(Article acceptance dates: 01 January - 01 April for the June 15 issue; 01 July - 01 October for the December 15 issue).
DEUIFD aims to publish and share works such as articles, book critiques and symposium evaluations produced in the field of religious sciences. Articles submitted for publication are subject to double- blind review by at least two peers. In addition, through a special program used in plagiarism detection, it is confirmed before publication that the articles have not been previously published and do not contain plagiarism.

Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal publishes articles such as articles, book criticism and symposium evaluation produced in the field of religious sciences.

Rules to be Followed in the Articles to be Submitted to the DEU Faculty of Theology Journal

(1) The articles submitted to the journal will be examined formally by the Editorial Board first and if it is deemed appropriate to be published in the journal, they will be sent to a field expert peer for content review.
(2) Articles should not have been previously published in another publication.
(3) If the sent letter is a paper and has not been published in the booklet, the place, and date of submission will be evaluated.
(4) The length of the articles sent to the journal should not exceed 35 pages in our journal format with the bibliography. The articles should be as follows:

- Character:

English: Garamound (Main Text size: 12, Summary size: 11, Footnote size: 10)

Arabic: Traditional Arabic (Main Text size: 13, Footnote size: 11)

- Line spacing: Single (Main Text and Footnote)

- Paragraph spacing: Main Text (0nk first, then 6nk), Footnote (3nk first, then 3nk)

(5) Manuscripts should be written with Microsoft Word editor in order to facilitate complete and flawless typesetting, editing and similar works.
(6) Abstracts should be added to the beginning of the articles in Turkish and foreign languages, provided that they do not exceed 150 (one hundred and fifty) words.
(7) The keywords that indicate the main theme of the articles and to be scanned on the internet should be placed under the abstract.
(8) Footnotes should be given in the format below:

Example: Demir, Abdullah. “Mâtürîdî imilimi Ebû İshâk Zâhid es-Saffâr's Kalam Defense.” Cumhuriyet Theology Journal 20/1 (June 2016): 445-502.

(10) Our journal uses the Isnad Citation Style.

The publication process at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal is the basis of the improvement and dissemination of information objectively and respectfully. Therefore, the procedures in this process improve the quality of the studies. Peer-reviewed studies are the ones that support and materialize the scientific method. At this point, it is of utmost importance that all parties included in the publication process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, reviewers and editors) comply with the standards of ethical considerations. cumhuriyet theology journal expects all parties to hold the following ethical responsibilities.

The following ethical duties and responsibilities are written in the light of the guide and policies made by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, and the publisher.

1. Publication and authorship:
List of references, financial support;

No plagiarism, no fraudulent data;

Forbidden to publish same research in more than one journal.

2. Author’s responsibilities:
Authors obliged to participate in peer review process;

All authors have significantly contributed to the research;

Statement that all data in article are real and authentic;

All authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.


3. Peer review / responsibility for the reviewers:
Judgments should be objective;

Reviewers should have no conflict of interest with respect to the research, the authors and/or the research funders;

Reviewers should point out relevant published work which is not yet cited;

Reviewed articles should be treated confidentially.


4. Editorial responsibilities:
Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article;

Editors should have no conflict of interest with respect to articles they reject/accept;

Only accept a paper when reasonably certain;

When errors are found, promote publication of correction or retraction;

Preserve anonymity of reviewers.

5. Publishing ethics issues
Monitoring/safeguarding publishing ethics by editorial board;

Guidelines for retracting articles;

Maintain the integrity of the academic record;

Preclude business needs from compromising intellectual and ethical standards;

Always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.

Duties of the Publisher
Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal is committed to ensuring that commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful to editors. Finally, we are working closely with other publishers and industry associations to set standards for best practices on ethical matters, errors and retractions–and are prepared to provide specialized legal review and counsel if necessary.

Plagiarism Detection
Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Divinity Journal uses double-blind review fulfilled by at least two reviewers. In addition, all articles are checked by means of a program in order to confirm they are not published before and avoid plagiarism.

The peer review process is at the heart of the success of scientific publishing. As part of our commitment to the protection and enhancement of the peer review process, our journal has an obligation to assist the scientific community in all aspects of publishing ethics, especially in cases of (suspected) duplicate submission or plagiarism.

When a reader discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in a paper published in the journal or have any other complaint about editorial content (plagiarism, duplicate papers, etc.), he/she should make a complaint by e-mail to: ilahiyat.dergi@deu.edu.tr We welcome complaints as they provide an opportunity for improvement, and we aim to respond quickly and constructively.
