Research Data Policy

Sinop Journal of Social Sciences encourages authors to share the data, code, and materials that support their research findings whenever ethically and legally possible.

Authors should include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript, describing where and how the data can be accessed.

Datasets referenced in the article should include a persistent identifier (DOI or URL) and appropriate citation.

When data cannot be shared publicly (e.g., due to confidentiality, legal, or ethical constraints), authors must clearly explain the reason.

The journal recommends using open repositories such as Zenodo, Figshare, or institutional repositories for data storage.

Data Citation Example:

Author(s). (Year). Dataset title [Data set]. Repository Name. DOI

This policy aligns with the FAIR Data Principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
