Editorial Board Meetings Content

The Editorial Board of the Sinop University Journal of Social Sciences convenes at regular intervals to enhance the academic quality of the journal, strengthen its publication policies, and ensure the effective management of editorial processes. During editorial board meetings, manuscripts submitted via the DergiPark system are subjected to a preliminary evaluation based on compliance with writing and publication guidelines, journal scope, academic rigor, ethical standards, and similarity (plagiarism) rates.

The meetings also address the operation of the peer-review process, assignment of editors and section editors, publication planning, issue formation, and the journal’s national and international indexing objectives. In order to maintain editorial quality and manage submission intensity, the Editorial Board may exercise editorial discretion when making decisions regarding pre-evaluation and acceptance policies.

In line with the decisions taken, manuscripts deemed suitable are assigned to relevant assistant editors and section editors, and the peer-review process is initiated. When necessary, manuscript submissions may be temporarily restricted to ensure the smooth operation of editorial workflows. Editorial board meetings aim to safeguard the sustainability of the journal’s academic standards and the integrity of its publication processes.
