Aim & Scope
The Turkish Yearbook of International Relations covers original scientific works in the fields of Turkish foreign policy, International Relations, Turkish Political Life, and Turkish Studies. The journal, which has an interdisciplinary approach, includes academic articles selected based on referee reports under the supervision of the editorial and advisory boards, as well as book reviews on these subjects.
The Turkish Yearbook of International Relations is indexed in and abstracted by TR DİZİN, ProQuest International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS), Sage International Political Science Abstracts (IPSA), and Index Islamicus.
Author Guidelines
AUTHOR GUIDELINES
The journal of The Turkish Yearbook of International Relations, which is published by the Department of International Relations Faculty of Political Science Ankara University since 1960, is a refereed academic journal that publishes articles and book reviews in Turkish and English in the fields of Turkish Political Life, Turkish Foreign Policy and International Relations. All manuscripts sent to The Turkish Yearbook of International Relations are subject to the double blind peer review process.
Articles submitted to the Turkish Yearbook of International Relations should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time.
Manuscripts submitted to The Turkish Yearbook of International Relations will be sent to two referees after the initial evaluation by the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board will decide to accept, revise, reject, or send the manuscript to a third referee in line with the referee reports. The author will be notified of the decision as soon as possible.
1) Authors should submit the manuscripts in MS format (.docx) format via DergiPark. (https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/tyir)
2) Authors should state their titles, institutions, communication addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and ORCID numbers in a separate file.
3) Submitted manuscripts should be between 6000-8000 words, including footnotes and bibliography. Book reviews should be between 1000-1500 words.
4) Each article should contain Turkish and English abstracts (approximately 100 words) and 3 to 5 keywords (in both Turkish and English).
5) Manuscripts should be written in Times New Roman with 1,5 line spacing and a font size of 12.
6) Quotations should be placed within double quotation marks. Quotations longer than four lines should be indented at left margin without quotation marks and single-spaced.
7) Citations within the text should be written in parentheses (APA) and references should also be arranged by using this citation system. Footnotes can be used for explanations that cannot be included in the main text. Footnotes should be written in Times New Roman, 10 font size.
Examples below are given to show how different sources should be written.
I. Citations in the Text
a) Books/Articles with a singular author:

b) Multiple books/articles of an author in the same year:

c) Books/Articles with two authors:

Note :
If an article published in preprint version with DOI, the DOI and access date must be given.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
The publication ethics and malpractice statement is mainly based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
The Turkish Yearbook of International Relations adheres to the principle of open, accessible, and free academic publishing. Therefore, there is no article processing and submission fees charged to the authors. All publications can be accessed in full text from on the website without any restrictions and delays.
Please read the following guidelines and the Journal's Writing Conditions before submitting your article. Articles that do not comply with these principles and rules can be returned to the author.

Ayşe Ömür Atmaca 1998 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü'nden mezun olmuştur. Yüksek lisans ve doktora derecelerini Uluslararası İlişkiler alanında sırasıyla 2003 ve 2011 yıllarında Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi'nden almıştır. Halen Hacettepe Üniversitesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü'nde Doçent olarak görev yapmaktadır.Türk-Amerikan ilişkileri, Ortadoğu siyaseti, Arap-İsrail çatışması ve eleştirel jeopolitik alanlarında çalışmalar yapmaktadır.
Political scientist, specializing in Middle Eastern issues. She is an assistant professor at the Institute of the Middle and Far East at the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University. She also completed MA studies in international relations (specializing in strategic studies) and cultural studies - Middle Eastern studies. She obtained an MA in Turkish Studies at the Faculty of Philology. She also studied at the Universities of Istanbul and Hacettepe in Turkey and at the University of Amman in Jordan. She was doing internship at the University of İstanbul Şehir (Center for Modern Turkish Studies) and underwent training at Leiden University. She participated in fieldwork in Syria, workshops in Iraq, and a scientific research internship in Morocco. She gave open lectures at Trinity College in Dublin and the University of Iceland in Reykjavik. She is the author of numerous scientific articles on the Middle East and Africa. She has presented her papers at many conferences and congresses. Her research interests focus on the history, culture, society, economy and politics of Turkey, Islam, especially Sufism and political Islam, and the broadly understood Middle East and Africa.
