To publish original articles produced from studies carried out in the field of cereals and well-prepared reviews on current issues in English, to provide information sharing in related fields and to provide free access to the journal with open access policy.
Wheat Studies Journal is an International Refereed Academic Journal published twice a year, in June and December. It accepts original research articles and current reviews in the field of cereals covering Turkey and World countries.
Wheat Studies journal publishes peer-reviewed scientific articles and reviews in English every 6 months.
Plagiarism rates of the articles sent to our journal are determined with the iThenticate program. Articles with a similarity rate of 15% are returned to the author.
The work done in the article must have been carried out in the last 10 years.
As the first author, a maximum of two articles of an author are published.
ORCID Numbers of all authors in the article should be written.
The works are not published in the articles without the changes requested by the referees had been done.
All articles, should be written in 12-pt and "Arial" font type and text should be justified to both side. The pages’ margins should be 3 cm from left & right, 2.5 cm from head & bottom. The article should not exceed 15 pages.
Article title should be short, descriptive and not exceeded 20 words. All words in the title should be bold, centered and in Calibri 18-pt at the same font of the text with initial capital only except connectors and pre-position words.
Author Name(s) should start one row after the title and font size of name(s) in upper and lower case letters, surname(s) in capitals, should be adjusted to Arial 11-pt, without personal title. Names must be numbered with superscripts, at the next line the organization and e-mail(s) should be informed with referred number(s) in 9-pt.
Section and sub sections in the articles; should be formed as Introduction, Material and Methods, Research Findings, Results, Discussion and References. Research Findings and Discussion sections can be merged. In that case, the Conclusion section should be given. For the reviews, abstract, introduction and references section must be exist; author can give additionally suitable titles. All headings must be bold, and only the first letter must be uppercase in the section headings (lowercase in sub-headings), all sub-headings should be typed italic also. One line should be spaced between Headings and text. In the article all paragraph should be started 1 cm indent from the main text but headings placed without any indent.
In the reviews, there should be Abstract, Introduction and Bibliography sections, besides these, appropriate titles can be given by the author. Introduction 1 and other headings should be numbered as 2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 3, 3.1, 3.1.1 etc. All titles should be bold and only the main section titles should start with capital letters, and the subsection titles should be written in italics with lowercase letters. A blank line should be left between all titles and text. While starting the paragraphs, 1 cm indent space should be left on the left side of the texts, and the headings should not be indented.
Separating for the decimals, dot (.) for the thousands a space ( ) should be used (e.g. 3.45 kg; 2 365 485 da).
The abstracts in both English should be no longer than 300 words. Abstracts should start one row after the author name(s) and should be written in 10-pt. Before English abstract, article title also should be written in English with bold, centered. Additionally, minimum 3, maximum 5 keywords should be added after the abstracts in abstract’s language.
Figures and graphs in the article should be mentioned as “Figure”, titles of the tables should be located at the top and graphs at the bottom. Tables and Figures must be numbered consecutively and separately from each other. Titles of the tables and figures must be Arial 11 pt, contents must be 10-pt and only the first letter must be uppercase in the first word and lowercase at the rest. Vertical lines should not be used in tables unless required.
The bibliographic references should be given within the text and placed in parenthesis by author surname and the publication year referred as (Demir ve ark., 2011), (Jackson et al., 2013), (Ayyıldız, 2013) or Celik (2012). The bibliography should be written in Arial 9-pt and ordered alphabetically by authors’ surname and chronologically for two or more works by the same author.
Abbreviations and symbols should be explained where they are used in the text for the first time. Internationally accepted and commonly used abbreviations should be preferred. The units should be given according to the International System of Units (SI).
References should be prepared in APA style.

Publication Ethics
Journal of Wheat Studies is an International Refereed Academic Journal that publishes original articles produced from studies carried out in the field of cereals covering Turkey and the world countries and well-prepared reviews on current issues in English.
The Journal of Wheat Studies, which provides the development and sharing of information on cereal research topics with the scientific method and allows free access to the journal with its open access policy, is published every 6 months.
Refereed articles are studies that ensure the application of the scientific method and impartiality. In the realization of scientific production, all components of the publication process; publisher, editors, authors, referees and readers must comply with ethical principles. In this context, the Journal of Wheat Studies requires all components of the publication process to comply with ethical principles.
If cases such as manipulation, distortion and fabrication of data used in the articles are detected, the institution where the author of the article works will be officially notified and the article will be rejected. Our journal has the right to request the output files of the analysis results from the authors according to the evaluations made by the editor and/or referees.
Wheat Studies Journal does not charge article processing fees or subscription fees for access to articles at any stage of the publication process.
It is mandatory that the works requested for publication must not have been published in any other journal or sent for publication.
The work in the article must have been carried out in the last 10 years.
A maximum of two articles by one author are published in the same issue as the first name.
The similarity rate of the articles submitted to our journal should not be higher than 15% in the Plagiarism program.
Articles are not published until the changes requested by the referees are made.
Articles submitted to the journal are not returned whether published or not. All responsibility for the articles belongs to the authors.
The manuscripts requested to be published in the journal should be prepared according to the spelling rules of the Journal of Wheat Studies, and the references in the articles should be prepared in APA style.

The "Article Application and Copyright Transfer Agreement", which is attached to our journal or obtained from the Dergipark web page, should be filled in and scanned and sent with the article.

* Bahri Dağdaş International Research Institute Directorate, which is the publisher of the Journal of Wheat Studies, is a non-profit public research organization.
* The Journal of Wheat Studies has been under the management of the editorial board since 2014.

* The Editorial Board of the Journal of Wheat Studies is responsible for every article submitted to the Journal of Wheat Studies, even after its publication, and the Editorial Board is aware of this responsibility. This responsibility requires the Board of Editors to make decisions independently, considering only the public interest and not for personal gain. The relationship between the publisher and the Board of Editors is based on the principle of independence, and all decisions taken by the editors are independent of the publisher and other individuals and organizations.
* The Editorial Board of the Journal of Wheat Studies endeavors to continuously improve the Journal and to increase the quality of publication.
* The Editorial Board of the Journal of Wheat Studies ensures the determination and implementation of journal policies such as publication, blind refereeing, evaluation process, ethical principles.
* The Editorial Board of the Journal of Wheat Studies protects the copyright of the authors of the articles published in the Journal of Wheat Studies.
* The Editorial Board of the Journal of Wheat Studies is responsible for taking precautions against intellectual property rights, unscientific-ethical behavior, plagiarism, and citation gangsterism during the article and journal publication process.
* The Editorial Board of the Journal of Wheat Studies prepares an "Author's Guide" containing the information requirements of the author(s) and a "Referee's Guide" containing the information required by the referees during the evaluation phase, and updates it when necessary. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors and Deputy Editors
* Editors endeavor to meet the information needs of referees, author(s), researchers, practitioners and readers when necessary, and to act in accordance with the principles of openness in matters requiring correction and clarification during the publication process.
* While deciding to publish the articles, the editors pay attention to the originality, scientificity, contribution to readers, researchers and practitioners.
* While making positive or negative decisions about the articles, the editors take into consideration the original value of the articles, their contribution to the field, the validity and reliability of the research method, the clarity of the expression, and the purpose and scope of the journal.
* The editors take the submitted manuscripts to the preliminary evaluation stage as long as there are no serious problems, take into consideration the positive referee recommendations, and do not change the decisions made by the previous editor(s) unless there is a serious problem.
* The editors implement the blind review and evaluation process policies of the journal, keep the identity information of the referees confidential, and ensure that each article is evaluated impartially and within the deadline.
* The editors submit the manuscripts by taking into account the specialties of the field editors and referees, and support unbiased and independent evaluations.
* Editors consider whether there is a conflict of interest between editors, referees and author(s) for the unbiased evaluation of the article.
* The editors seek to ensure that the referee pool consists of a wide range of referees and is constantly updated.
* Editors prevent unscientific and unscientific evaluations that do not comply with academic etiquette.
* Editors ensure that journal publication processes are carried out in accordance with publication policies and guidelines, inform those involved in the process about developments in publication policies, and prepare training programs when necessary.
* Editors maintain effective communication with everyone involved in the publication process and organize meetings at regular intervals.
* Editors ensure the protection of personal data in the evaluated articles; they protect the personal data of authors, reviewers and readers.
* Editors pay attention to the protection of human and animal rights in articles, care about documenting the explicit consent of the participants of the article, and reject the article in the absence of ethics committee approval for the participants of the article and their permission in experimental research.
* Editors take precautions against misconduct. When there are complaints of misconduct, they conduct an objective investigation and share the relevant findings.
* Editors ensure that errors, inconsistencies or misdirections in articles are corrected.
* Editors protect the intellectual property rights of published articles and defend the rights of the journal and the author(s) in case of violation. They also take the necessary measures to ensure that the content of published articles does not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications; they check for originality-similarity.
* Editors take into account consistent criticism of the articles published in the journal and give the author(s) of the criticized articles the right to reply.
* The editors also take into consideration studies with negative results.
* Editors review the complaints submitted to the journal and make necessary explanations.
Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
In the manuscript evaluation process of the Journal of Wheat Studies, the principle of two-way blind refereeing is applied, where the author(s) do not know the referees and the referees do not know the authors; the referees cannot communicate directly with the authors; the manuscript evaluation forms and the notes and correction requests specified on the text are sent to the author(s) by the editors via the journal management system. Referees who will evaluate the manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Wheat Studies should bear the following ethical responsibilities:
* Referees should only accept to evaluate articles related to their field of specialization.
* Referees should conduct the evaluation in impartiality and confidentiality. In accordance with this principle, they should destroy the articles they have reviewed after the evaluation process and use them only after publication. Nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs and commercial concerns should not impair the impartiality of the review.
* When reviewers realize that there is a conflict of interest, they should refuse to evaluate the article and inform the editors.
* Reviewers should evaluate the manuscript in a constructive manner in accordance with the rules of academic etiquette; they should avoid personal comments containing insults and hostility.
* Reviewers should evaluate the manuscript they accept for evaluation within the deadline.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Ethical responsibilities of the author(s) submitting an article to the Journal of Wheat Studies:
* The author(s) should not submit more than one article to the Journal of Wheat Studies at the same time if they have published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
* The author(s) should submit original manuscripts to the Journal of Wheat Studies.
* The author(s) must cite the sources used during the writing of the article correctly in accordance with ethical principles.
* The names of people who do not contribute to the article should not be written as authors, and it should not be suggested to change the order of authors, remove authors, or add authors to an article applied for publication.
* Notify the editors of any conflict of interest or conflict of interest regarding the article applied for publication.
* In case information or raw data is requested from the author(s) during the evaluation process, they should submit the expected information to the Editors.
* The author(s) must document that the rights to use the data used in their articles, the permissions related to the research-research, or the approval of the participants on whom they conducted research have been obtained.
* The author(s) should contact the editor to inform, correct, or retract an error in the manuscript that is under review, early appearance, or published electronically.
* The author(s) should indicate the name of the ethics committee, the date and number of the decision on the first and last page of the candidate article and in the method section, and upload the document showing the ethics committee decision to the system with the application of the article for research that requires data collection with quantitative or qualitative methods such as experiment, survey, scale, interview, observation, focus group study. In addition, information on the receipt of the informed consent form in case presentations should be included in the article.
* The author(s) should provide evidence that they pay attention to ethical principles during the data collection process (such as obtaining permission to use other people's documents such as scales, questionnaires, photographs). It should be stated in the articles that research and publication ethics and copyright regulations for intellectual and artistic works are complied with. If the research was conducted on human and animal subjects, it should be reported that the research was conducted in accordance with international declarations, guidelines, etc.
* Ethics committee approval is not requested from the author(s) for review articles. However, in articles that do not require ethics committee decision, it should be stated on the first and last page of the article and in the method section.
Ethics Committee Permission is required for the following researches.
* All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using survey, interview, focus group study, observation, experiment, interview techniques
* Use of humans and animals (including materials/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
* Clinical trials in humans,
* Research on animals,
* Retrospective studies in accordance with the law on the protection of personal data.
Also;
* Indicating that the "informed consent form" has been obtained in case presentations,
* Obtaining and indicating permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others,
* Indication of compliance with copyright regulations for the intellectual and artistic works used.
Notifying the Editor of the Situation that Does Not Comply with Ethical Principles
Any unethical behavior of the editors, referees, authors, or any unethical situation related to a manuscript under review, in early view, or published in the Journal of Wheat Studies should be reported to jbdcr42@gmail.com.
Publication Acceptance Process
Manuscripts submitted to the journal are sent to the referees after going through editorial pre-control evaluations such as compliance with the journal's spelling rules, spelling-spelling errors, statistical and language evaluation, plagiarism control. Manuscripts are subjected to "Double-Blind Peer Review". Each article is sent to 2 referees, if both referees agree, the article is accepted for publication. If 2 referees reject the article, the article is rejected. If one of the referees gives a rejection and one gives a minor revision, the manuscript is sent to a 3rd referee and the manuscripts whose decision is minor revision or acceptance are accepted after the necessary revisions are made. If one of the referees rejects and one of them gives a major revision, the article is rejected.
No fee is charged to the author or his/her institution under any name.
This journal is an international refereed scientific journal published semi-annually by Konya Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute Directorate.
