MUSTAFA ÇAKMAK was born in Istanbul in 1978. He graduated from Giresun Imam Hatip High School in 1994 and from 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Theology in 1999. In the same year, he started his master's degree at 19 Mayıs University Institute of Social Sciences. He completed his master's thesis titled "Criticisms of Religious Exclusiveness in John Hick's Philosophy of Religion" at the end of 2002. In 2005, he started his PhD education at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences. At the end of 2011, he completed his doctoral study titled "Religious Inclusiveness in Contemporary Western and Islamic Thought". He also worked as a teacher and administrator in a primary school affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Istanbul between 1999-2012. In 2012, he was appointed to Giresun University Faculty of Education, Department of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge Education as Asst. Assoc. Between 2015-2016, he worked as a post-doctoral guest lecturer at Yale Univesity Divinity School in the USA with the support of TÜBİTAK. In 2019, he became an associate professor. He is currently working as a faculty member at Giresun University, Faculty of Theology, Department of Philosophy and Religious Sciences. Philosophy of religion, Religious diversity, Moral philosophy are his main areas of interest. He has published four books and many articles in his field. Published books in Turkish: Dinsel Kapsayıcılık (İZ Yayıncılık 2014), İş Ahlakı ve Değerler Eğitimi (ed) (Pegem Akademi 2017), Ahlâk, Tanrı ve Yasa (İZ Yayıncılık 2019), İnsan Din ve Erdemlilik (ed) (DEM Yayınları, 2022).
