ABOUT THE JOURNAL

The Igdir University Journal of Sports Sciences (Iğdır Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Dergisi) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published biannually (July and December) by Iğdır University since 2018. The journal operates on an independent and non-profit basis, aiming to contribute significantly to the fields of sport, physical activity, and exercise sciences.

Journal Overview & Policies:
- Publication Frequency: Twice a year (July & December).
- Review Model: Rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review (minimum 2 independent reviewers).
- Access Model: Open Access (All articles are freely accessible immediately upon publication under Creative Commons licenses).
- Plagiarism Screening: Mandatory similarity check (Turnitin or iThenticate). The maximum acceptable similarity rate is 20% (excluding references).
- Ethics Compliance: All empirical studies involving human or animal subjects must have official Ethics Committee approval, strictly complying with the Declaration of Helsinki.
- Review Articles: Starting in 2026, the number of review articles published per issue is limited to a maximum of two (2).
- Submission Platform: Submissions are accepted exclusively through the DergiPark system.
