Journal of Islamic Law Studies is a peer-reviewed, academic Diamond Open Access journal published by the non-profit Gençleri Evlendirme ve Mehir Vakfı (Foundation for Mehir and Youth Marriage) (ROR ID: https://ror.org/03rprq887). The journal maintains full editorial independence from its publisher. It aims to present original research on the theoretical and practical issues of Islamic law to the global academic community.

As of 2026, the journal has transitioned to a Continuous Publication model. Accepted works are immediately published online with a DOI; these are subsequently compiled into two printed issues in June and December.

An annual, online-only special issue is published entirely in English, centered on the theme of "Contemporary Jurisprudential (Fiqh) Issues and Proposed Solutions". For detailed information regarding the special issue, please click here.

The journal implements double-blind peer review and plagiarism screening in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) standards, as well as national YÖK (Council of Higher Education) and university ethical principles. The I4OC (Initiative for Open Citations) is fully supported.

No fees are charged to authors at any stage of the publication process. Content is published under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. Authors retain their copyrights without any restrictions.

The complete archive, which was modernized into an article-based system following the 2022 digital transformation, is accessible via DergiPark and LOCKSS.
