Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Policy

The International Journal of Agriculture, Environment and Food Sciences (IJAESF) applies a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the scientific quality, originality, and ethical integrity of all published articles.
Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review cycle.

Review Model and Principles

  • Review Type: The journal uses a double-blind system where author and reviewer identities are concealed.
  • Reviewer Selection: Reviewers are chosen based on subject expertise, academic credentials, and previous scholarly output.
  • Ethical Standards: The process follows the
    COPE
    and
    CSE
    ethical guidelines for peer review.
  • Editorial Independence: Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ reports and scientific merit, without external influence.

Review Stages

  1. Initial Editorial Screening: Manuscripts are checked for technical compliance, plagiarism (via iThenticate or İntihal.net), and ethical requirements.
  2. Editor-in-Chief Evaluation: The Editor-in-Chief assesses scope relevance, originality, and language quality before peer review.
  3. Reviewer Assignment: At least two reviewers are invited through the DergiPark system based on expertise.
  4. Review Process: Reviewers evaluate manuscripts objectively within 30 days and recommend one of the following:
    • Accept
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Reject
  5. Revision and Re-evaluation: Authors revise according to comments and submit a response letter. Revised versions may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers if necessary.
  6. Final Decision: The Editor-in-Chief issues the final decision based on reviewer feedback and journal policy compliance.

Reviewer Conduct and Confidentiality

Reviewers must adhere to confidentiality, impartiality, and ethical responsibility. Review content may not be shared or used for personal benefit. Conflicts of interest should be declared before accepting a review invitation.

Transparency Statement: The peer review process is managed exclusively through the DergiPark system to ensure traceability, reviewer anonymity, and editorial transparency. The average duration from submission to decision is 10–11 weeks.
