The International Journal of Economics and Innovation (IJEI) aims to advance the understanding of economics and innovation through the dissemination of high-quality research. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches and welcomes empirical, theoretical, and methodological studies that contribute to the literature and practice in these areas. IJEI is an open access, double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually. By maintaining rigorous peer-review standards and adhering to ethical publication practices, IJEI strives to be a leading journal that supports the development of economic and innovative knowledge worldwide.

1. Titles of the article must be both in Turkish and in English, and there must be Turkish and English abstracts not exceeding 200 words. It should be paid attention that the article should contain aim, method and result information. Following Turkish and English abstracts, there must be 5 keywords maximum.
2. Manuscripts will be sent to the journal should be written in Times New Roman font in Microsoft Word. The manuscript should be 12 font size, single line spacing, and should not exceed 20 pages including appendix and bibliography.
3. Page margins should be set to: top 4cm, bottom 3.5 cm, right 3.5cm, left 3.5 cm.
4. The title should be written in the language of the article first, written in title case, font size 14, bold and should be centered. Only right aligned name and surname of the author(s) should be given and the titles of the author(s), the name of the institution and e mail address should be given in footnotes. Next, the abstract of the article in the related language (font italic), and keywords. Stating the above mentioned information, authors should write the title in the second language in title case, font size 14, bold and the title should be centered. Finally, the abstract of the article in the related language (font italic) and key words should be written.
5. Headings in the manuscript should be numbered as 1., 1.1., 1.1.2. All headings should be font size 12 bold. Headings and text should be aligned along left margin. There should not be left any space between headings and text and paragraphs. Before and after 6nk space should be left in whole text.
6. Table and figures should be numbered and given headings. Headings should be over the table and figures (Table 1: the name of the table), (Figure 1: The name of the figure).
7. Equations should be centered and each should be numbered. Sequence numbers of the equations should be aligned along right margin and written in parenthesis.
8. For inside text citations the format is: surname of the author, year, page number (Romer, 1986: 1020). If there are more than three authors the format is: First author’s surname et al., year, page number (Köse et al., 2006: 5).
9. All the cited sources in the text as shown above must be in Bibliography list alphabetically as stated bibliography writing samples below.
International Journal of Economics and Innovation is going to use APA reference style beginning from Volume 4, issue 2.

A) Publication Policies

1. Manuscript Submission
Submissions must follow the journal's formatting and style guidelines. Authors should provide abstract, keywords, and references in the required format. Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's online submission system.
2. Publication Frequency
International Journal of Economics and Innovation (IJEI) is a biannual journal published in April and October. The authors can send their work whenever they wish. The evaluation process completed articles are published taking the dates they are received into consideration.
3. Open Access Policy
IJEI is an open-access journal, meaning all articles are freely available to readers worldwide immediately upon publication. This ensures maximum dissemination and impact of research findings.
4. Privacy Statement
The names and email addresses collected on this site will be used exclusively for the purposes specified here and will not be shared or used for any other purposes or by any third parties.
5. Copyright Notice
Authors affirm that the articles submitted to the International Journal of Economics and Innovation for evaluation and publication have not been previously published, accepted for publication, or submitted to any other journal for consideration. Authors retain the copyright of their work while granting the journal the right of first publication. All legal responsibility for the content of the work rests with the author(s). No royalties are paid for the work. Manuscripts may be cited provided proper reference is given.
6. Peer-Review Process
All submissions to the IJEI undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field to ensure high-quality and unbiased evaluations. Reviewers assess the manuscript's originality, methodological rigor, significance, and clarity. The identities of the reviewers are kept confidential, and the authors’ identities are not disclosed to the reviewers.
The IJEI operates online with a manuscript evaluation period of up to 2-3 months. Upon favorable reviews, authors can request an acceptance certificate signed by the editor. Additionally, accepted articles are listed under the "Accepted Submissions" section on the homepage for easy tracking.
7. Editorial Board Decision
Revision and Acceptance: If revisions are necessary based on the reviewers' reports, the authors are informed and asked to make the revisions within a specified period. Revised manuscripts may be subject to re-evaluation by reviewers.
Final Decision: The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ reports, the authors' revisions and the recommendations of the editorial team. The Editor-in-Chief assesses the accuracy and impartiality of the reviewers' reports before making a decision on the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. Accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication in order.
8. Originality and Plagiarism
IJEI requires that all submitted works be original and not under consideration or published elsewhere. Manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using iThenticate software. Authors must ensure proper citation of sources and acknowledgment of any reproduced content.
9. Data Accessibility
Authors are encouraged to provide access to data underlying their research findings to promote transparency and reproducibility. Data should be made available in a public repository or as supplementary material whenever possible.
10. Appeals and Complaints
Authors who believe their manuscript was unfairly rejected may appeal the decision by contacting the editorial office. Complaints about editorial processes or reviewer conduct will be investigated promptly and addressed in accordance with journal policies.
B) Ethical Principles
Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards. IJEI follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any cases of misconduct, including data fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate authorship, will be addressed according to COPE's principles.
1. Conflict of Interest Statement
Authors must declare any conflicts of interest related to their work. Authors should disclose financial or personal relationships that might influence the results or interpretation of their work. The conflict of interest statement must be submitted during the manuscript submission process.
2. Authorship and Contributions
Author Contributions: Authors must ensure that each author listed in the manuscript has made significant contributions to the study. Authors should have actively participated in processes such as research design, data collection, analysis, writing, or revision.
Acknowledgment of Contributions: The contribution of each author should be clearly stated, and the order of authors should be arranged according to these contributions. Individuals who did not contribute to the research should not be included as authors. 

Authorship Order and Changes: Authors should carefully consider the list and order of authors and provide the definitive list at the time of the original submission. After the manuscript has been accepted for publication, the order of authors cannot be changed, and no new authors can be added. 

Use of Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Technologies: Artificial intelligence tools should only be used to improve the readability and language of the work. The use of artificial intelligence tools must be carefully overseen by the authors and should not be credited as an author. The authors remain ultimately responsible for the content of the work.

2. Retraction and Correction Policy
If a published manuscript is found to be erroneous or misleading, it may be retracted or corrected. Authors are required to notify the editorial team immediately upon discovering any errors in their work.
Ethical Violations: Articles are retracted when serious ethical violations or major methodological errors are detected. These situations include violations such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or manipulation.
Retraction Notice: The decision to retract is clearly communicated to readers, and retracted articles are removed from the journal's digital archive. Retraction notices are published with a link to the original article.
3. Research Ethics Involving Human Subjects
Ethics Committee Approval: All research involving human subjects must be approved by the relevant ethics committee or institution. Authors should indicate that the study has been approved by an ethics committee and clearly state the ethics approval number in the article. For research involving human subjects, informed consent must be obtained from participants. The anonymity of participants must be maintained, and the research should be conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines.
4. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite or quote the work and words of others. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Data Access and Retention: Authors should be prepared to provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and must retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior.
Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
5. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
Publication Decisions: The editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The editor is guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
Fair Play: The editor must ensure that each manuscript received by the journal is reviewed for its intellectual content without regard to the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.
6. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.
Promptness: Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.
Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
7. Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher
Handling of Unethical Publishing Behavior: In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, the publisher, in close collaboration with the editors, will take all appropriate measures to clarify the situation and to amend the article in question. This includes the prompt publication of an erratum, clarification, or retraction of the affected work.
Access to Journal Content: The publisher is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research and ensures accessibility by partnering with organizations and maintaining our own digital archive.

International Journal of Economics and Innovation has not received any fee under the application or evaluation fee in the 10 years since it started its publication life (2015). In this process, all transactions were carried out on a voluntary basis. However, publishing the Journal regularly and on time requires intense effort and time. International Journal of Economics and Innovation has decided to charge an “Editorial Processing Fee” as of 2024.
“Editorial Processing Fee” will be charged for articles sent to the International Journal of Economics and Innovation, regardless of whether the article is accepted or rejected. In case the article is rejected or withdrawn by its author at any stage of the article evaluation process, the “Editorial Processing Fee” will not be refunded.
The account number to which the Editorial Processing Fee will be deposited will be sent to the responsible author via e-mail after the article is uploaded to the journal system. After the fee is paid, the referee process of the article will start. If the fee is not paid within 7 business days, the article will be returned to the responsible author.
