The main goal of our journal is to take place among the leading journals preferred in the field of social sciences, evaluating qualified and original studies in accordance with scientific norms and science ethics by carefully, and publishing them regularly.

Balikesir University Journal of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed, journal published by Balikesir University Social Sciences Institute biannualy (in June and December). The journal covers Geography, Educational Sciences (Educational Programs and Teaching, Educational Administration and Inspection, Preschool Education, Social Studies Education, Turkish Education, Fine Arts Education), Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Visual Arts, Economics, Business, Political Science and Public Administration, Sociology , History, Tourism and Hotel Management, Tourism Guidance, Turkish Language and Literature, and Foreign Languages disciplines. In this context, original and qualified articles, book introductions and reviews, case studies on subjects covered by these disciplines can be published in the journal.

Writing Rules

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

1. The manuscrtipt should be prepared in accordance with the spelling and spelling rules of the language in which it is written.

2. The page size should be selected as A4 (20.99 x 29.7 cm) and 2.5 cm margin should be left on all sides of the page.
3. The manuscript should not be more than 25 pages, including appendices and bibliography, with the specified page size and margin.
4. In the manuscript, all the information that may indicate the names of the author (s) should be removed. If the study is prepared with Microsoft Word, make sure that the user names in the "author" and "last modified" information are not indicates the author(s).
5. Times New Roman font should be used in the manuscript
6. TITLE should be; 12 font size, Times New Roman, bold, 1 line spacing, only the first letter of the first word should be capitalized, in the center of the page.
7. ABSTRACT : Justified, 11 font size, Times New Roman, 1 line spacing, maximum 300 words. The summary of the article should be prepared in Turkish (German or French according to the language of the article) and English, reflecting the purpose, method and findings of the research. The abstract prepared in the language in which the article is written should be placed at the top.
8. KEYWORDS: Left justified, 11 font size, Times New Roman, 1 line spacing should be given right after the summary texts (0 nk paragraph spacing). Minimum 3 and maximum 5 words.
9. EXTENDED ABSTRACT: In articles written in Turkish, German and French, an extended abstract in English, consisting of at least 800 and maximum 1200 words and mentioning the literature, methods, findings and results of the article, should be written. : In articles written in English, extended abstract should be Turkish.
10. MAIN TITLES: Left justified, 11 font size, Times New Roman, Bold, Only first letter of first word capitalized. The main headings to be included in the article should be given with the following titles and order. Numbering should not be used in the titles.
• Abstract
• Extended Abstract (In all articles except written in the English language))
• Introduction
• Literature review
• Methodology
• Findings and discussion
• Results and recommendations
• References
• Etcihal Approval, Author Contribution Statement, Thanks or Supports Statement (if any), Conflict of Interest Statement
11. SUBTITLES: Left justified, 11 font size, Times New Roman, Italic, Bold, Only the first letter of the first word should be capitalized.
12. TABLE-FIGURE-GRAPHICS: Tables, figures or graphics should be centered on the page, explanations on the relevant item, the word table / figure / graphic (Times New Roman, 11 font size, bold): Table title (Times New Roman, 11 font size, only the first the first letter of the word should be written as capital).
The data in the table / table can be changed, if necessary, between 9-11 font sizes.
All tables, graphics etc. that can be prepared on Microsoft Word must be created by the authors, and no graphics should be copied as pictures.
If reference is required for the table or graphic, it should be written under the relevant figure in 11 pt, Times New Roman and in the center of the page.
13. All text other than the specified fields should be written in Times New Roman, 11 pt., Single line spacing and justified.
14. Articles that are not arranged according to the specified rules will be returned directly to the authors.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

PUBLICATION POLICY

1. Balikesir University Journal of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed, journal published by Balikesir University Social Sciences Institute biannually (in June and December). The journal covers Geography, Educational Sciences (Educational Programmes and Teaching, Educational Administration and Inspection, Preschool Education, Social Studies Education, Turkish Education, Fine Arts Education), Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Visual Arts, Economics, Business, Political Science and Public Administration, Sociology, History, Tourism and Hotel Management, Tourism Guidance, Turkish Language and Literature, and Foreign Languages disciplines. In this context, original and qualified articles, book introductions and reviews, case studies on covered subjects can be published in the journal.

2. The main goal of our journal is to take place among the leading journals preferred in the field of social sciences, evaluating qualified and original studies in accordance with scientific norms and science ethics by carefully, and publishing them regularly.

3. The publisher, editor and editorial board of the journal are not obliged to accept the responsibility of the ethical violations that may arise due to the views and opinions expressed by the authors, and the responsibility of the manuscripts in the journal belongs to the author(s). The journal accepts and follows ethical principles, the issues determined / recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for editor, reviewer and author responsibilities.

4. Manuscripts submitted to the journal for publication are first evaluated in terms of form / writing conditions and similarity (by using plagiarism software). Manuscripts that do not meet the pre-evaluation conditions in terms of writing rules are returned without sending to the reviewers. Manuscripts that comply with the conditions are sent to at least two reviewers to be reviewed in terms of content. The authors are not informed about the identities of the reviewers who evaluate the manuscript, and the reviewers are not given information about the author of the manuscript. Reviewer reports are confidential. Manuscripts that do not receive a positive report from the reviewer are not published and returned to their authors; administrative and judicial responsibility is not accepted in this regard. Manuscripts requested by the reviewers for correction are sent back to the author (s) for necessary changes. It is the responsibility of the author (s) to deliver the corrected text to the journal within the specified period. In case the study is decided to be published, the authors must send the Copyright Transfer Form, which they signed and uploaded to the system before, to the Journal of Social Sciences of Balikesir University by mail / courier.

5. The manuscripts to be published in the journal must not have been published in another journal, sent for publication or accepted for publication. If articles presented in any scientific conference and not published, the name, place and date of the meeting should be stated in the notes to the editor. Manuscripts must not show similarity even if they have been presented before, published as a paper or derived from the thesis.

6. The author (s) states that the manuscript sent to our journal is an original work of their own and that they did not make plagiarism, that the authors mentioned in the study participated in this study individually and took all the responsibility for this study, that all authors saw and approved the final version of the article submitted elsewhere. They accept and undertake that they are not printed or sent for printing, that the text, figures and documents in the article do not violate the copyrights of other parties.

7. The manuscript should be submitted to the editors in electronically on Dergipark. Authors should be registered logged in to Dergipark to submit their manuscripts. The manuscripts uploaded to the Dergipark should not contain any information about authors. Manuscripts submitted for publication should not exceed 25 pages, including appendices and bibliography. While the manuscripts are uploaded to the system, the title, keywords and abstract must be entered in the journal-park metadata as a second language other than the language in which the article is written

8. According to the Ulakbim TRDizin Criteria, the ethics committee approval is required for the manuscripts to be uploaded to our journal. Detailed information can be found journal’s website.

9. The journal does not charge any publication fee.

10. Manuscripts can only be withdrawn at the pre-evaluation stage by authors.

11. Manuscripts cannot be accepted for a specific issue or date. If the processes of the manuscripts are completed positively, they will be queued for the first issue to be published after the date they are accepted for publication.

12. The evaluation process of the studies takes between 3-12 months
