The main purpose of the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty; to create a scientific platform where scientists working in all fields of education share their knowledge, experience, evaluation, opinions, and suggestions, and to contribute to the studies in the field of education at national and international level.

Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty aims to provide solutions to problems at all levels of education, from preschool education to higher education. Our journal is a peer-reviewed national journal published in the field of educational sciences. The target audience of our journal; teacher candidates, teachers, academicians, and individuals and organizations that produce products and services for the education sector in all areas of educational sciences. In all areas of education, practical or theoretical studies, model recommendations, analysis and evaluations, quantitative and qualitative research are included in our journal.

Author Guidelines

About the Journal

Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty (BAYEF) is an open access, international and blind-reviewed journal. Manuscripts submitted to the journal should not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication purposes. No fees are charged to the author(s) at any stage of the evaluation and publication processes for the studies submitted to our journal.

Articles submitted to BAYEF are not prepared in accordance with the journal format or are rejected directly if the plagiarism percentage is not appropriate. If the studies submitted to BAYEF are formally appropriate, they are forwarded to the field editor to confirm that they are suitable for the focus and scope of the journal. Studies that receive a positive opinion from the field editor are sent to two referees for evaluation. At least two referees' positive opinions are required for the article to be accepted for publication. If one of the referees expresses a negative opinion and the other expresses a positive opinion, the study is reviewed by the Editorial Board and sent to a third referee or returned to the author. The author is given two months to make the corrections sent to the authors. If the corrections are not completed within two months, the studies will be returned to the authors. The articles accepted from the studies submitted to our journal are published in the relevant numbers in order of acceptance and an equal number of publications in each field.

All publication rights of the published articles belong to the Bayburt Faculty of Education Journal (BAYEF). The authority to make decisions on matters not mentioned herein belongs to the Editor and Editorial Board. Manuscripts that do not comply with the publication and writing principles are rejected without consideration. The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number is assigned to all studies published in our journal.

The following rules should be taken into account in the article narration.

1. In the writing of the article, a narrative and plan should be followed that will allow the reader to understand and evaluate each stage of the study.

2. The narrative should be as simple, understandable, concise, and short as possible. Unnecessary repetitions, unsupported statements, and statements that are not directly related to the subject should be avoided.

3. Very general expressions should not be used in my writing. Statements containing judgment or certainty must be based on data/ references.

4. The place of the discussed subject or problem in the current literature should be presented in the context of explaining and supporting the objectives. The problem and the selected research method should be connected.

5. The problem should be indicated together with the reasons for which the researchers/researchers approached it from a theoretical/conceptual point of view.

6. The reason for the selection of the research method used should be explained. The validity and reliability of all data collection tools must be specified.

7. The data obtained as a result of the research should be presented as a whole.

8. Results based solely on the data obtained should be presented.

9. Interpretations of the results should be evaluated with other sources in the literature if any.

10. Turkish articles should include English abstract and extended English abstract, English articles should include Turkish abstract and extended Turkish abstract.

The following rules should be taken into account when formatting an article.

i. Author names and information should not be included when uploading the study to the system. The formal features of the studies are presented below:

- Page layout: Custom page sizes, Width:16cm, Height, 23.5cm

- Margins: Right and Left: 2 cm, Top and Bottom: 2.5 cm

- Leading: Full Value: 12 nk,

- Range: 0nk first; Then 7.1 nk

- Font: Times New Roman

ii. Titles: The main title of the article should be 12 points, bold, centered, the first letters of all words should be large and no more than 14 words. First-level titles should not be numbered, 10 points, bold, the first letters of all words should be capitalized and centered. The second level titles should be written in 10 points, bold, the first letters of all words should be written in large and left-leaning. Third-level titles should be written 10 points to the left [1/2 indentation], only the first letter of the first word should be written in large and bold. The fourth title (only the first letter of the first word should be written according to the characteristics of capital, left-leaning [1/2 indentation], italic and bold).

iii. Author names: 10 points, centered, author name, and surname should be given only the first letters of capital letters. Author addresses should be given in 9 points as sub-information and should contain only the following information: University, faculty, department, province, country, e-mail (If it is an institution other than the University, it is enough to write the name of the institution instead of the university, faculty and department name).

iv. Abstract and Abstract should be written in 9 point and italic, flat on both sides. Abstract and Abstract should be written in the range of 100-150 words. Articles should contain abstracts in Turkish and English. If the language of the article is Turkish, "Abstract" should come to the top and "Abstract" should come to the top in English. The beginning of the paragraph should be made and the keyword should be written between 3-5 words [1/2 indentation]. Only the first letter of the first keyword must be uppercase. All other keywords must be lowercase. The Turkish title should be above the abstract section and the English title should be above the Abstract section.

v. Article text must be written in 10 points and files must be prepared in Microsoft Word 2010 or later and have a file format .docx extension. Type your text without indenting it in the first paragraph. In the second and other paragraphs, leave an indentation of 1/2.

vi. The extended abstract should be in the range of 750-1000 words. The first paragraph should not be indented, and the next paragraphs should have a paragraph indentation of 1/2. The title should not be used in the extended summary. Each section should be written as a new paragraph. In this section, information about the introduction, method, findings, and conclusion should be presented.

vii. The first letters of the words mentioned in the table name should be large left-leaning and italic. The upright line should not be used in the table. The table name must be located below the table number. Manuscripts in table contents can be reduced to 8 points. The paragraph describing the table must be in the indent range 1/2 and in the range of 7.1nk with the table.

viii. The title of the shape should be given centered (only the first letter should be capitalized). The figure number (italic) and name should be given under the shape. Paragraph 1/2 of the paragraph describing the shape must be in the indent and in the range of 7.1nk with the table.

ix. Articles should not exceed 35 pages, including attachments.

THE FOLLOWING RULES SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHEN ARRANGING A BIBLIOGRAPHY

i. Bibliography should be provided in accordance with APA 7 (American Psychological Association) standards. In sources with multiple authors, the conjunction "and" should be used when parentheses are not used for the text before the last author's last name, and "&" should be used when used in parentheses.

ii. The references used in the article are prepared "According to the Author's Surname" and 9 points and single line spacing are written starting from the left margin alignment of the page. Lines after the first line are indented 1/2.

iii. When referring to unspecified internet sources in the text, the URL-sequence number (,) should be written in capital letters as a year. For example: (URL 3, 2009), (URL 1 and 2, 2005)

iv. DOI numbers of articles containing DOI numbers should also be provided.

Authors should fill out the Copyright Transfer Form when submitting their articles and upload their articles using the Article Authoring Template.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

ETHICAL RULES

Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty is a peer-reviewed journal published in accordance with the following ethical principles and rules in order to publish qualified scientific articles in the field of "education". One of the main objectives of the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty is to increase the quality of the published studies. In this context, the main criteria to be considered in the publication of the studies in our journal are the International Standards established by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). The articles submitted to the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty are evaluated by a double-sided blind refereeing process and published electronically with free access. After publishing each issue, our journal publishes the list of referees who evaluated the articles published in that number and the referees who evaluated the articles that received rejection during the period in which the relevant number was evaluated. Below are the ethical responsibilities, roles, and duties of authors, journal editors, referees, and publishers. In addition, information about plagiarism and unethical behaviors is given in the Bayburt Faculty of Education Journal.

Ethical Responsibilities for Authors

1. The articles submitted to the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty should be original studies in the field of education.

2. The articles submitted to the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty should not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication purposes. However, the Copyright Transfer Form must be submitted by filling it out.

3. All sources used in articles (authors, online pages, personal interviews, etc.) should be sourced accurately and appropriately.

4. When uploading articles to the system, all information identifying author names, addresses, and authors should be deleted and uploaded.

5. The name of the people who do not contribute to the article should not be written as authors, and it should not be recommended to change the author order of an article that has been applied for publication, to remove the author, to add authors.

6. It should inform the editors of the persons who have a conflict of interest-interest association related to the article applied for publication.

7. In case of requesting information or raw data about their articles from the authors during the evaluation process, they should submit the expected information to the Editors. Authors are obliged to keep data related to a published article for 5 years.

8. When authors find an error in their work, they should inform the editor and the editorial board and cooperate in the process of correction or withdrawal.

9. In the method section of all articles submitted to Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty, it should be stated that research and publication ethics are complied with. Information about ethical permission (board name, date, and number no.) should be included in the method section and also on the last page of the article.

10. An author whose article was published in the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty will not be published even if the first issue of his article after the issue of his article has been accepted.

11. In each issue of the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty, a maximum of one article from Bayburt university staff will be published. In the publication of the article submitted from within the university, the order of acceptance for each field will be printed in the order of the pre-acceptance article. Other articles will be sorted to appear in the next issues.

12. The documents and information requested for studies requiring ethics committee permission are not expected to be applied for studies submitted, evaluated, or accepted in the past years. The process will be mandatory for publications starting in 2020.

Studies that do not provide these items will be returned to their authors.

Ethical Responsibilities for Referees

A double-sided blind refereeing system is used in the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty. Double-sided blind refereeing means keeping the authors secret from the referees and the referees from the authors in order to ensure a neutral, objective, and independent evaluation process. Therefore, referees should not include self-defining statements in the studies they evaluate. In our journal, referees cannot see the authors and cannot contact the authors directly. Evaluations and comments are communicated through the journal management system (field editor). The referees are required to fill out a form containing the contribution of the article they evaluated to the field of Education and their decisions regarding whether the article is publishable and their reasons for these decisions. The ethical responsibilities and roles of the referees of Bayburt Faculty of Education Journal are as follows:
1. Reviewers are only required to referee articles related to their areas of expertise.
2. Reviewers are expected to agree to referee articles that do not have conflicts of interest. If the referees notice any conflict of interest, they should inform the editor and refuse to referee the relevant article.
3. Referees should consider articles as biased and objective.
4. Referees should make the assessment in constructive and gentle language. It should not make derogatory personal comments that are hostile, defamatory, and insulting.
5. Referees are required to fill out the Referee Evaluation Form for the articles they evaluate, and they are expected not to mention their names in the correction proposals file in order not to harm the blind refereeing process. The referees are required to state their decisions regarding whether the article they evaluate is publishable and their reasons for their decisions in the Referee Evaluation Form.

6. Referees are required to complete their evaluations within the period given to them and are expected to comply with the ethical responsibilities specified here.

Ethical Responsibilities for Editors

A double-sided blind refereeing system is used in the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty. The ethical duties and responsibilities of the editor are as follows:

General Responsibilities

1. The editor is obliged to make efforts to increase the quality of the journal and to contribute to its development.
2. In the study, is responsible for ensuring that authors and referees do not know each other.
3. Authors and referees should not be selected from the same institution. It is responsible for ensuring that the referees to whom the same study is sent are not from the same universities.

Relations with Referees

1. The editor should ask the referees to evaluate the articles in accordance with their knowledge and expertise. Thus, the articles should be evaluated appropriately by experts in the field.
2. The editor is required to provide the referees with all the necessary information regarding the referee evaluation process and what is expected to be done by the referees.
3. The editor should ensure that the peer-review process is carried out with double-sided blind refereeing and should not disclose referees to authors and authors to referees.
4. The editor should evaluate the referees according to their timing and performance.
5. The editor should remove referees who make rude and unqualified comments or return late from the referee list.
6. The editor should constantly renew and expand the list of referees according to the specialties of the referees.

Relationships with Authors

1. The editor should constantly update the sample template with publication and writing rules for what is expected of the authors.

2. If the editor decides to reject the articles submitted to the journal in terms of journal writing rules, the importance of the study, and the originality of the article during the initial submission process, he/she should communicate to the authors clearly and without bias the reason.

3. Submission and acceptance dates should be included in the articles.

4. When there is a request for information regarding the status of the authors' articles, the authors should be informed about the status of their articles in such a way as not to disrupt the double-sided blind refereeing process.

Plagiarism and Unethical Behavior

The names and e-mail addresses of the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty will be used for the stated purposes of this journal. It will not be used for other purposes or for any other department. Articles submitted to the Bayburt Faculty of Education Journal are scanned in the Turnitin program. Studies with a similarity rate below %20 are evaluated and studies with a high similarity rate are returned to their authors.

In case of a behavior that does not comply with the ethical principles regarding the editors, referees and authors in the Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty, or an unethical situation regarding an article in the evaluation process, early view or published, it should be reported to bayef@bayburt.edu.tr.

JOURNAL POLICY

The studies submitted to Bayburt Faculty of Education Journal are firstly pre-examined by the editor and then sent by the field editor to two referees who are experts in the relevant publication if the work is deemed appropriate by taking the opinions of the group of editors (method editor, field editor and preflight team who examine it formally) and the editorial board. If both referees give a positive opinion and the editorial board expresses a positive opinion, the article is published in the number determined by the editor and the editorial board. If an arbitrator expresses a negative opinion, the study is sent to a third referee who is an expert in the field of subject matter. If the third referee's opinion is positive, a decision is made on the publication of the study taking into account the opinions of the referee. If the third referee's opinion is negative, the study is rejected. Studies in which both referees express negative opinions are rejected without sending them to a third referee.

Journal of Bayburt Education Faculty has adopted the policy of providing open access. Open access accelerates the disseminate of information, bringing beneficial consequences for humanity. In this context, the journal allows the sharing of scientific content that it inherits and publishes from authors on the condition that it is shown as a source by known standards and that the content is protected in order to contribute to the promotion and development of universal open access. No fees are charged to the authors for the evaluation or publication of the studies submitted to the journal. The journal grants authors the right to withdraw their article during the pre-control phase. In order to withdraw the articles during the evaluation and editing phase, the author must inform the editor of the request and justification for the withdrawal from the correspondence page. If it is detected that the article is being manipulated, distorted and used for fabricated data, the institution in which the author of the article works will be notified officially and the article will be rejected.

2005 yılında Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa Üniversitesi Sınıf Öğretmenliği programına yerleşti. 2009 yılında fakülteyi bitirip Ağrı/Eleşkirt/Yanıkdere İlkokuluna sınıf öğretmeni olarak atandı. 2012’de Atatürk Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü Sınıf Eğitimi yüksek lisans programından mezun oldu. Bu arada Millî Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı farklı ilkokullarda sınıf öğretmenliği ve idarecilik görevlerinde bulundu. 2015 yılında Bayburt Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Temel Eğitim Bölümü Sınıf Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında araştırma görevlisi oldu. Aynı yıl Atatürk Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü Sınıf Eğitimi Bilim Dalında doktoraya başladı. 2019 yılında doktora eğitimini tamamlayıp Bayburt Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Temel Eğitim Bölümü Sınıf Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında doktor öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaya başladı. 2022 yılında Temel Eğitim İlkokuma Yazma ve Türkçe Eğitimi alanında doçentlik unvanı almaya hak kazandı. Öğretmen yetiştirme, yazma eğitimi, öz-düzenleme, öğretmen öz-yeterliği gibi konular üzerine farklı akademik çalışmaları bulunmaktadır. Halen Bayburt Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Sınıf Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında öğretim üyesidir.
