Research Article

Pamukkale University Journal of Education (PUJE) is an international peer-reviewed open-access academic journal which has been published since 1996 and currently publishes three issues a year (January, May and September) online.  PUJE might publish one additional special issue per year with an early announcement.

Pamukkale University Journal of Education (PUJE) accepts and publishes manuscripts in both ENGLISH and TURKISH. Authors are expected to send their full-text manuscripts in either (English or Turkish) language. After the acceptance of the manuscript for publishing, the manuscript must be submitted in both English and Turkish in full text. As authors are responsible for the language quality of the manuscripts, they might choose to receive support for language polishing from the third parties like some language editing companies. Manuscripts with language problems will be returned to the corresponding author.

Pamukkale University Journal of Education (PUJE) publishes qualitative and quantitative (and mixed methods) research articles of high quality in primary, secondary, tertiary levels and in lifelong learning contexts that;

  • foster teacher education through its connection with theory and practice, give insight into educational development, administration and supervision,
  • carry the voices of students, learners, parents, practitioners, the school administration into well designed studies,
  • make assessments of local policies, curriculums and renovations with international lenses,
  • yield the development of new educational models, measurement tools, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research designs
  • integrate technology with educational practice

PUJE does not accept works that,

  • compile studies in the existing literature,
  • present course book or syllabus analyses,
  • include simple quantitative studies with only one independent variable (e.g., the effect of x on y),
  • include simple qualitative or quantitative studies with only one data collection tool (e.g., only interview or a scale)
  • descriptively measure self-efficacy, attitudes, views, etc. on/towards specific methods, techniques or courses
  • are out of the interest of the international audience,
  • are not included in the scope educational sciences (e.g., nursing education),
  • include solely a simple scale development, validation or adaptation. (Newly developed scales that might attract the attention of the international audience are welcome)

All manuscripts to be submitted to PUJE must be prepared considering the Article Templates in English and  Templates in Turkish  (APA 6th Edition). There is a page limit for the submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts should not exceed 35 pages, double-spaced, using Times New Roman 12-point font (including the abstract, tables, figures, references, acknowledgments, and appendices) in both languages.
