Bio

Prof. Dr. Armağan Coşkun completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Ankara University DTCF Oriental Languages and Literatures; He completed his second master's study and doctorate program in Gazi University Faculty of Education Turkish Folk Literature. Ministry of Culture ADTHMK, as well as a voice artist, 2547/31 between 1998-2006. He gave theoretical and applied Turkish Folk Music lessons at Gazi University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In order to contribute to the youth of the country in this field, he was appointed as an assistant professor to Gazi University Faculty of Science and Letters, Turkish Folklore Department in 2006. Having the title of the first associate professor in the field of music within the discipline of Turkish Folklore in 2012, Coşkun received the title of professor in the field of Turkish Music in 2018. Between 2006-2014 Gazi University Turkish Folklore Department Vice President, between 2007-2012 Gazi University Turkish Folklore Research and Application Center Deputy Director, between 2009-2016 Head of Gazi University Turkish Folklore Performing Arts Department, between 2013-2015 Hacettepe Working part-time at the University and at Yıldırım Beyazıt University State Conservatory between 2014-2016, COŞKUN is still the head of the Turkish Music Department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory and continues his solo concerts. In 1998, at the age of thirty-two, due to his art career, national and international art activities, he moved to T.C. He was honored with the "State Artist" by the Presidency. Member of the editorial board of Istanbul University State Conservatory Conservatory Journal and National Folklore Journal, membership of the selection committee of the Prime Ministry Turkish Folk Music and Dances, etc. He also serves as a referee for many social science journals. COŞKUN, who has conducted many field studies in Anatolia and the Balkans, has conducted and consulted many national and international projects. COŞKUN, whose field of study is Turkish Folk Music, Minstrel Music, Folk Song, Turkish Folklore, Folk Literature and Minstrel Literature, has many national and international books, book chapters, articles and papers. (1993). He has solo albums named by the General Directorate of Fine Arts and has participated in many CD works.
